A 4 Star joint if you like pool. This place is great for players. Also good for game watching… lots of TVs, though many are small. That said, all of the action and socializing seems to be amongst the pool tables, while the bar was kinda quiet. Food comes from a vending machine.

I like this bar. It’s fun, stiff drinks and really laid back. Every time I go to The Library I can expect to have a good time.

Great APA bar with pleasantly consistent tables and drinks priced just right -. As Cozy as it gets, and when Dove is working, you’re in for a treat!

Great dive bar with lots of coin operated pool tables and most painfully horrific music I’ve ever witnessed! Came here to play pool and drink. They were starting a pool tournament that I believe they have every Saturday night. We didn’t want to be a part of it, and just bellied up to the bar. Great bartender. OK line up of booze and beers. Lots of TVs, but the music was so bad, it was comical. We were laughing how such a horrific line up of songs and how they could even out do themselves with getting worst. Got excited because I thought I was hearing a Slayer intro coming on and it turned in to another Staind style band. Great place to drink and play pool and get a good laugh in. Lots of locals and regulars.

I like bars. I like dive bars. I like loud bars. I like bars with pool. I like bars with jukeboxes. I just like em… This bar is all of the above and gets 5 stars in my book! Came here for a bit the other night with two of my guy friends. We played some pool and listened to some tunes. The place is large with a few tables and other games like fooze ball. The bartenders are very attentive and friendly. Drinks are cold and strong. Music is loud and diverse… It is a nice change of pace from some of the other east county bars. It is kind of in an industrial area of Allied Gardens but just over the hill from Santee, we will be making this a staple in our bar rotation!

I used to frequent this place when I lived in the area. It’s always fun to say your are going to «The Library». The have expanded since my last visit years ago. Multiple pool tables and plenty of seating area. Although much bigger, they have mangaged to keep the local feel. The bartender was very friendly and attentive to our beverage needs, never letting them run dry. The pool tables were actually free this night as part of a promotion they are running through the end of the month. Highly recommended if you are looking for a cool place to hang out and enjoy a cold beverage or two. You have to go at least once to say you are going to «The Library». Study hard!

For our date night we come here every evening before we go home. We live right up the hill and don’t mind the«entertainment» while we are sitting there. This is by far one of the cheapest places to get some drinks. Ive never felt like they have short ended me on alcohol when it comes to mixed drinks. The crowd though is definitely interesting. I have to say people watching here is amazing!!! You have hippies to hard rockers from the 70s getting drunk and playing some pool. Def a fun little dive bar to come too.

With the right group, this place can be fun. There are several pool tables and inexpensive spirits.

Went on a Sunday Night at 1145 after reding they were open til 1. 2 guys 2 girls walked in with me. 2 people sitting at the bar and 1 person plaing pool. Bartender says he «just closed out the registers» . Obviously, I am upset and say. «yelp» will love this. He offers us to come back to sell us «shots only». Sorry man, if you don’t want to exchange money for alcohol you’re in the wrong business. If you want to close early so you can drink with your friends bring on another bartender. Closing an hour before your websites time and posted time is pretty uncool. Closing two hours before California’s legally sanctioned time is Effing Lame. In conclusion. My first and last time at the Library was a total waste of time. I would give zero stars if I could but I will just settle for no return visit.

Have seen this place featured on TV recently on a fake reality show about«bikers»… I thought this was a real bar but obviously it does’t really exist so feel free to disregard anything I said before. I guess that’s why the owner is a «celebrity» in his own tiny mind. Douchebag.

$ 12 for three beers. $ 0.75 pool games. Doesn’t get much better than that. This little dive bar located in a strip mall in San Diego was just what we needed. The three of us were looking for a fun night out where we can just relax with a beer and play some«friendly» games of pool with one another. By the time we finished dinner in the city that night, we were all ready to call it a night, but The Library proved to be too much of a curiosity for the group. It was only a five minute drive from where we were staying that night, and since the name was so cool, we thought we’d give it a try. Place is über-clean and has lots of cool things to do – pool, jukebox, darts… and drinking, of course. The locals seem to love it a lot. Beer and liquor selection was pretty good for a bar of that size. Not too busy at all when we arrived… around 9:30pm on a Saturday night. I was expecting the place to be a lot more«divey,» but this definitely works as-is. Thanks, Library. We will be seeing you again soon!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVETHELIBRARY! This is a great neighborhood bar with a sports niche including loads of televisions and sports memorabilia everywhere. They also have APA pool out of here about six nights a week. They have five pool tables that are very well kept as the owner is a pool player. And speaking of the owners, Belinda and Tony are fantastic people and great bartenders! Be sure to try Tony’s famous Bacon Bloody Mary or if you want something else, they have a full, well stocked bar. Their prices are reasonable and there is always a fun, personable crowd. Do yourself and favor and poke your head in during a Padre, Charger, SDSU game and you will feel like you are actually at the stadium, the televisions are that dominant and the people that rabid for sports!

I came here after a coworker invited me to come watch her play pool. I was very pleased at how awesome and nice everyone was it was like everyone had known me forever. Drinks are reasonably priced and the bartenders are generous. I dont play pool but i enjoy hanging out with all the people there while they play. You have a very large mix of people it is more of an older crowd.(considering im 22) But i love it and thats more my crowd anyways. I would highly recomend it. more of a dive bar so dont go if your looking to find a dance floor and someone to hook up with … lol

Decided to check this place out due to all the good reviews. Went to watch Sunday morning football games. Experienced the free breakfast, free build your own chorizo burritos from a local taco shop I suppose, not made there. I don’t think they serve food or are equipped with a kitchen. Bloody Mary was the worst I have had, watered down and flavorless. Stuck with champagne and some fireball shots the rest of the time. Prices on drinks are fair, but how fair are they if you don’t want to drink them. The majority of patrons are Steelers fans. They make up half a bar and commandeer a large number of TV’s to watch their one game. They are loud, obnoxious and reek of cigarettes from their regular 10 minute smoke breaks. The place itself is old and dark. Won’t be back.

Been playing pool here for a couple years and my team fell apart and I moved to Escondido. and then the other day I was thinking about getitng back into APA. Went to a few places and checked out reviews. and honestly I really just want to go back this place. I love the amount of T.V.s and that there was something for everybody in terms of sports or entertainment. If you have never been here be advised this is a dive bar pool hall. expect that and you will be surprised when you see that it is on the high end of that catagory. Pretentious people need not waste their time. come here for that old school dive bar feel.

I hadn’t been here for years, and then my friend had her b-day here. I was pleasantly surprised. The drinks are inexpensive, the people are friendly and laid-back, and the place is clean and re-done with lots of flat-screens showing sports. They have an electronic jukebox, pool tables, and a dart board. It’s quiet enough to hear each other talk, but not so quiet you feel the need to talk unless you want to.
