So sweet! They remember my dog when I bring her in and they are sweet and personal. Love that my dog comes back to me happy and fabulous!

To make a long story short: we were overcharged by $ 100 when we boarded our dogs here. When we picked our dogs up, the employee told me to rectify this with the owner and they’d refund the money back to the credit card or give it to us in store credit.
It is important to note I called based on the suggestion of the employee to follow up on a refund.
When I called the owner to follow up, she was rude and insulting. The fact that we didn’t get our money back is beside the point — I was genuinely appalled at how quick she was to point fingers at us, her attempt to justify hidden charges, and the complete incompetence we encountered from both her and her staff upon check-​in (where I’m assuming this gross miscommunication happened).
But hey, don’t take my word for it… look at the way she responds to anyone who has negative feedback for her total lack of customer service when she’s poorly reviewed.

We just moved into Hillcrest and while walking our very messy maltipoo «Linus» we came across the very cool Pet lounge. Walked inside to take a look and very friendly staff welcomed us and asked if we’d like to try them out. Our poor dog looked like a rescue in bad need of a bath. Having no referral, and Linus in bad shape I left him. So glad I did!!! After 7 years of what I thought was a good cut? And a hour latter new Linus was born! So beautiful, clean, cut, and perfect! I found his new 6 week home and Edger was the pro that did it. I give 5 stars try them! They even have a fenced area and doggie daycare, you can watch on the TV in the front office. I have been going here for almost 4 years and I love it! Everyone is always super nice and they are so sweet to my dog which is most important! She boards there very often and gets a full groom about every 2 – 3 months. I have read other reviews and there is never going to be a place that is perfect. I have tried a few other places when I moved and I always come back to The Pet Lounge! I suggest giving this place a try!

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! I am traumatized by the disgusting smell in the place and on my dog and her sad cries when I picked her up. I understand no one will love her as much as I do but I did expect her to get some/​any love and attention while I was paying to have others watch her but she didn’t get either from these people. I wish that I would have read the reviews before I took her, so if you are reading this please don’t make the same mistake!
They have a huge space with 15 – 25 dogs of all sizes just running around at all times with zero to very little human interaction — ever. When one person does come into the room (there’s only ONE PERSON TO 15 – 25 DOGS) all of the dogs run over seeking attention but they are ignored and the person only walks by them to mop up urine or pick up dog poo. Disgusting! The dogs go potty all over the play area. My dog has been trained and knows to go potty outside. I saw her and other dogs on icam go poo in the play area. I’m sure she was very confused by that. Many diseases and illnesses are present in feces and it does not go away with a quick mop of dirty water with pine sol. I saw one dog humping another dog for 2 – 3 minutes with a worker in the room oblivious to what was going on in the room. One time when a worker bent down, my dog went to say hi to him seeking attention and he pushed her away with his forearm, this was the one and only time I saw her get any human touch and I watched the icam a few times a day, everyday for 5 days. She came home smelling like the play area, a combination of cleaner, urine and feces. Her bed and blanket also had the same rank smell. She drank a bowl and half of water when we got home and she had diarrhea when she went potty about 20 minutes after getting home. After a bath and some more water, she passed out in a clean bed and blanket that didn’t smell. I’m so disappointed in The Pet Lounge, their staff and manager Christine. I trusted you with my baby, she’s a member of our family and my heart breaks for her because she had to endure that kind of treatment for four nights and five days and I couldn’t do anything about it because I was in a different state and couldn’t afford to fly back. You need to hire more people if you are going to board that many dogs. They need to have play time and physical activity, not just walking around in a big room with a bunch of other dogs. Dogs do not do anything, drink, play, walk, lay or sleep where they go potty and should not for health and disease risks be in the same area or walk over where they go poo. As a dog «professional» how do you not know this very basic fact about canine behavior?!
I used take her to The Pet Lounge to be groomed, Kirsten has been a very sweet and good groomer for the last year. We decided to leave town last minute and could not find friends or family to watch her so I I took her there because I thought they were nice. I would never leave her there again. In fact, I will never take her there again even to be groomed because it will break my heart to walk her in there again. She cried for 10 minutes when I got there to pick her up. And what scares me is that these are the sad and disgusting ways I saw them treat my dog but what did I miss when I wasn’t watching and the areas I couldn’t see?! I feel so sad to have left her there. If writing this review stops even one more dog from being left there, it will be worth spending my time writing it.
The boarding deserves zero stars. The only star there is Kirsten, who is very sweet, professional and a great groomer.

Please heed WARNING when choosing a boarder for your babies and take these posts to heart. I wish I had listened to the 1 star reviews before I took my dog here for the weekend. I have never boarded him before because I just do not trust anyone with my baby especially when I am out of town too far away to get back if something were to happen. However, my friend was unable to watch him so we had to board him last minute.
First off, when we walked in my dog was super timid and that put me on edge right away. I have a border collie mix that is super sweet and high energy so when he turns it down and gets nervous so do I. Once we forcibly got him back into the play room, he was fine playing with all the dogs but still seemed apprehensive. Which I would probably have been too. The place smells like cleaner since they are constantly cleaning up after the dogs doing their business all over the play room. Being an inside dog that knows to do his business outside, I am sure he was confused. At this point I really didn’t want to leave him there for the weekend but I had no choice.
I tried to stay positive while away and watched him as much as I could on my phone. (I even had my mom watching him to make sure I didn’t miss anything) We saw him poop multiple times while in there which is very strange for him. He does NOT do that. He will cry until he gets left out because he knows its wrong. So there is no way they are walking these dogs as much as they say. (I would love to have footage of their walks please.)
I was beyond happy to get him back on Sunday evening, however, when we got home we notice a gash taken out of his nose. I immediately cleaned it as best I could. I called them the next day to figure out what happened and they told me they didn’t see anything… Really? No one saw that his nose was bleeding? I am not mad that he got a cut on his nose while playing (if that is what happened…) it is that fact that it seemed like they were trying to hide it from me.
I’m sorry but I gave you my trust when I left my dog with you. He is a member of my family and I expect him to be treated as well as you would treat your own animals. I am severely disappointed and do not think I will ever board my dog again. If you cannot watch over all the dogs you have in there then you should have more people in the play room with them, watching over them. Also, it made me mad that I was unable to see where he slept. Only the deluxe suites are on camera. I should be able to see everything you are doing with my animal.
Needless to say, I will not be taking my dog back and I hope anyone who read this proceeds with caution. Maybe this kind of care is okay for other people but a lot of responsibility come with being a boarder in my opinion and the Pet Lounge clearly cannot handle it.

I have been taking my dogs to the Pet Lounge for a few years now. They always take such great care of my pups. Whether it be for boarding or for day care, they treat my boys like family. Great and friendly staff!

Do not use this place! Extremely disappointed and would advise them to just go out of business! We had our dog stay here over the weekend. The poor dogs never leave the play area for their 4 walks. As I watched and waited for my dog to come out on Sunday morning, he didn’t arrive to the dog play area until 8:37. As soon as he was brought out he went to the bathroom inside the play area. Imagine that he went for his «early morning walk» and held it until he came inside? If you watch the web cam early morning 6−8am you’ll notice all of the dogs go to the bathroom in the play area– I can’t believe that none of the dogs go to the bathroom outside and that they all hold it until they come back from their «walks» to do their business inside the play area! The floor then gets mopped up with pee water and unfortunately when the dogs are tired they lay on the pee mopped floor. Gross!
Our dog also came home with a scratch on his nose, that they «forgot» to mention. If you love your dog DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!!

Horrible horrible experience. This place of «business» mistreated my dog — left him locked in a room all day all night seeing no interactions with other dogs. This dog is a therapy dog and a certified service animal. There was no excuse for this maltreatment. Upon calling the pet lounge, employees kept making up excuses and eventually lying about our dogs whereabouts. Extremely concerned, we cut our trip short and picked up what is our baby… So unfortunate that a place would conduct their business like this. We were so hurt that we thought we could trust someone and we found out that we could not. Employees informed us upon picking him up that this is a common trait of the shop owner. She tells employees to not share information even with the dog owner which is completely disrespectful and concerning. Employees stated that however when it comes to her dogs, she expects to be updated almost hourly on their status. This is poor poor behavior that I really wouldn’t want anyone else to have to experience. To top off the whole horrific experience, we were told we would have been refunded (for we came home very early from our trip due to their maltreatment), and unfortunately we were not… Please do your research before trusting others with your babies!

Been here twice, first was fine. Second time our dog was still dripping wet. The «groomer» left for the day and we had to bring her back to dry her. I also do not think she was rinsed well as she started scratching really bad a day later to the point she was bleeding. Happens every time when they do not get all the soap out. Time to find greener pastures.

I brought my dog to The Pet Lounge on Saturday for his first grooming appointment at this dog salon. I recently moved down to this area from North County and was very nervous about trying a new groomer. My dog, Dante, is not easy to groom, especially when he meets a new groomer, and is extremely anxious. Bathing him, grooming him, and cutting his nails bring out his worst side. And I mean, his worst side. That said, Kirsten and The Pet Lounge staff were absolutely wonderful, kind, and caring to Dante. They bathed and groomed him in just two hours and when I arrived to pick up my little guy, he was smiling, happy, and well-​cared for. The Pet Lounge did an excellent job on his haircut (it is better than any cut he’s had before and he’s had many!) and I highly recommend them. The price was a little higher than what I was used to paying, but the service here was 100% worth the difference!!!

Just picked up my dog 5 mins ago. She looks nothing like she did when dropped off for the grooming. She was supposed to have her coat thinned and hair around her face trimmed.
She did have some knots in her hair on her ears so I understand completely that that hair being cut off but this dog was SHAVED from head to toe. If there was a need to shave the dog then a call to me — the owner should have happened communicating the need.
It really appears this groomer simply didn’t know what she was doing.
Won’t be back. It seems my complaint is a common one with this establishment after reading other 1 star posts.

Took both my dogs here for a grooming. I was skeptical because groomers can be so up and down with their services and I am always cautious with my dogs and who i take them too. I was impressed from the moment I went through their gate and into their front lobby. It was extremely clean and I loved the video coverage so u can watch ur animals. They did an excellent job!

Just picked up my dog. The groomer wasn’t the normal groomer that’s usually there. I wish I would have waited. I told him to keep her face round — she’s a toy shih tzu. She came back with most of her chin cut off. Very choppy look. The other groomer never cut her eyelashes as short as they are now. Her body and tail looks great though. The front desk noticed that I wasn’t that satisfied with her cut. I wasn’t expecting a full refund but $ 55 for cut (for a small 6 pound dog) I wasn’t happy with was a bit ridiculous. At least offer 10% off or something. Needless to say that will be the last time I take my dog there.

Loved it! Dropped off my pup there yesterday and everyone was so nice and helpful. My dog is usually really stressed after a grooming but when I went to pick him up he was so happy and beautiful! Deff recommend people to go here!

I’m all about supporting local businesses, but not when they completely butcher the requested service, especially when they were specifically told that the cut was for our wedding this week! Will not be going back to here and I highly recommend that all my pet-​owning family and friends stay away as well. Do not even recognize my little guy. The cut is AWFUL, beyond awful. Ugh. And we had even done test runs with them before. SO. ANGRY!!!
Also, looks like they deleted my Facebook review. Not pleased about that, either.

We have never seen our little man look so AMAZING! Kirsten did such a great job with our chihuahua /​Yorkie mix! From the moment we first spoke with her, she understood what we wanted and was so very friendly! Our pup got the full groom, and left smelling delicious! The fur around his eyes were perfectly shaved and trimmed which was very important to us since he gets bad tears. His overall look was exactly what we wanted and he looks sooo cute! Thank you for taking care of our sweet man! We will definitely be back, and we will make sure to ask for Kirsten every time!

They give our poodle the best haircuts.
He goes in looking like a hippy, dread-​locked mess and comes out looking like a teddy bear or something. Also he’s always happy when we pick him up after a few hours and that’s a good feeling to know he’s getting some love from the groomers.

I had a daily deal for this place and brought my little poodley dog here for a wash and cut. It was only my second time ever getting her groomed and this place was sooo much better than the first groomer I took her to. I loved the way they did her puppy cut; it was exactly what I wanted. It wasn’t too short and I could tell they paid attention to detail. She smelled and felt great.
The facility is nice and the people were nice. I would definitely come back to get her groomed here again!

I’ve used a lot of groomers over the years and have never been as happy as I am with The Pet Lounge. Every person there is wonderful, from the owner to the groomers to the day care attendants. They are friendly and kind and you can tell they love their jobs.
Prices are great and I recommend them to all of my dog owner friends. I’ll never take my dog anywhere else again.
Something that is very important to me is consistency. I think I’ve had 3 different groomers and every time my dog looks exactly how I told them I want her to look.
