The Secret Squirrel Society is a co-​ed sports and social group based in San Diego whose goal is to join people together through playing sports, socializing, meeting new people and giving back to the community. We offer men and women in the San Diego area weekly pick-​up /​drop-​in games of basketball, dodgeball, football, kickball, soccer, softball, ultimate frisbee and volleyball. Our pick-​up games are 100% co-​ed, open to all skill sets and everyone who shows up is guaranteed to play. The Secret Squirrel Society is the nation’s only sports and social group that specializes in pick-​up /​drop-​in games. All of our games are semi-​competitive, which means everyone can play hard but our first priority is to have fun. Our slogan is «We’re all fun & games» and we take having fun seriously. We are a different kind of sports and social group by design and donate 10% of all our revenues to charity. We also run co-​ed sports leagues, tournaments and various corporate special events.

History

Established in 2008.

The Secret Squirrel Society was formed by two friends who were new to San Diego, and looking to meet new people. The idea was to bring people together through sports, and what started as a monthly flag football game grew into a sports and social network offering co-​ed pick-​up sports six days a week.

We are competitive athletes who like to have fun on and off the field. Our focus is on having fun, and in providing low cost sporting events as a means for meeting new people, We also believe in giving back to the community — at least 10% of the money we make goes to charity.

As our motto says, «we’re all fun and games»!
