Thomas Fitzpatrick, DDS

I’ve been looking for a new dentist and I really didn’t have high expectations. I’ve been through my share over the years. What you’ll get with Dr. Fitzpatrick is a dentist who will sit and spend the time with you to address all your concerns. The office staff were awesome. Everyone is professional, efficient and simply nice to meet!

Its not the easiest to find an honest, talented, knowledgeable dentist that truly cares about people these days. There are many impostors (as I’ll explain), but few are the real deal. DR. THOMAS FITZPATRICK IS THE REAL DEAL!
I went to Stonecrest Dental off of Aero Dr and they showed me X-​rays that showed my bottom wisdom teeth moving horizontally and mashing into my molars. The dentist there said that I needed to see their oral surgeon and get them removed asap and would probably need root canals and crowns because of the damage reportedly done to my molars. The bill to just remove my wisdom teeth and some other basic care was around $ 2k! And thats with the HMO insurance! The root canals and crowns would be much more!
Well, I waited and woke up one morning with my jaw throbbing in pain. I assumed it was the «damage» to my molars. I texted Thomas and he fit me in around another emergency appointment the same day! He took X-​rays and when I saw them, confusion followed. My wisdom teeth looked NOTHING like the X-​rays Stonecrest had shown me! My wisdom teeth were straight up and down. No damage to the molars. The pain was coming from an infection from a partially erupted wisdom tooth that was interacting with a nerve along my jaw.
Thomas took great care to not only pull the tooth, but since I have never had an fillings or any type of dental care other than cleanings and braces, I has never gotten a shot or anything like that. Thomas made me feel so much better about future dental care. He’s honest and gentle… perfect qualities in a dentist. The bill that was going to cost near $ 2k at the other place? I wont list prices specifically, but safe to say, the other place was ripping me off!
Thomas also truly cares about people! Not only is he a stand up dentist, he’s a stand up man! Ask him about his trips to Nicaragua and the coffee project he started to help build self-​sufficient dentistry there!
BOTTOM LINE: In a dentist, you want someone that makes you feel comfortable, won’t rip you off, and cares about others. Thats Dr. Fitzpatrick. If you’re going to any other dentist in San Diego, you’re not getting the best!

My husband and I loved our experience with Dr. Fitzpatrick!!! We are new to San Diego and had been to a dentist in the area previously. The cleaning took 15 min and the dentist barely looked in my mouth… so we decided the search must continue. We found Dr. Fitzpatrick at Del Mar Family Dentistry and could not have had a better experience. Not only did he go through a thorough inspection of my teeth, he even did my cleaning the first time to get to know more about me and my dental history. He is very friendly and laid out all my options clearly without being pushy. Our search for a dentist has ended and we plan to be back in another 6 months. Thank you so much Dr. Fitzpatrick!!!

I’m glad I found this office. Based on my experiences with other dentist offices, it’s refreshing to find a dentist who doesn’t want me to spend a few grand on an Invisalign or thinks I need a cleaning every three months or wants me to rinse with some pink liquid that sticks to plaque that’s designed to make me feel bad about myself. I got so fed up with dentists that I hadn’t been to the dentist in a few years. Dr. Fitzpatrick didn’t find anything wrong with my teeth and recommended I come back, like normal, in 6 months. He’s also very gentle which is very important to me.

My husband and I both hated going to the dentist but once we found Dr. Thomas Fitzpatric our hate was lifted! He is an amazing dentist who sincerely cares about people. He is honest, detailed oriented and funny! He does his best to make you feel as comfortable as possible while in the chair, you can even watch a movie! My husband and I both have had root canals, fillings, crowns, X-​rays and teeth cleanings from him and all were done perfectly and with out pain! We highly recommend Dr. Fitzpatric for your dental needs! Also, the office is clean and the staff are all so nice! You can tell everyone is happy to be there (including the patients!)

I have been going to Dr. Fitzpatrick for the past few years for regular cleanings. He is very professional, quick (my cleanings have been under an hour), and has a great sense of humor that always puts me at ease because, going to the dentist in general gives me mild anxiety. During one of my first cleanings, Dr. Fitzpatrick noticed I had a small cavity and offered to fill it right then, which was convenient. He even checked with one of the receptionists to let me know what my out of pocket cost would be after insurance, which I appreciated. The dentist office I was going to before would always try to upsell me on treatments without being up-​front about cost, then send me a bill later. You will not get that at this office, everybody including the women at the front desk are honest, friendly and informative.

Dr. Fitzpatrick spends a lot of time with his patients and really cares about their well-​being. Nicest guy ever! I moved two hours away from San Diego but I’m still going to drive the two hours for my appointments with Dr. Fitzpatrick because he’s the best.

I wouldn’t trust my teeth to anyone else. Great office, reception, and practice.

Thomas Fitzpatrick is the best dentist we have been to. After going to a dentist who said my husband needed $ 5,000 in dental work we went to doctor Fitzpatrick for a second opinion. It turned out my husband only needed $ 300 in dental work. Dr Fitzpatrick is very honest and trustworthy. We now bring all four of our children to him also. My son was petrified of dentists but now he actually enjoys going. Dr Fitzpatrick is great with the kids!

Doctor Fitzpatrick is wonderful! He’s patient, friendly and professional. My whole family loves him and his staff. He has saved my husband from numerous emergencies, don’t know what we would do without him :)

I have known Dr Fitzpatrick outside of him being my dentist for a long time. Today, I finally decided it was time to return to the dentist after a long hiatus. Every experience I had with his office was wonderful and everyone on the staff was extremely friendly.
In past experiences with dentists I never felt like I could trust them and constantly felt like I was being upsold. Thomas is the exact opposite. He is extremely genuine and will only recommend something to you that you actually need.
If you are ever looking for a dentist I highly recommend Thomas! You will not be disappointed.

Just was looking for a quick cleaning as I’m in between a move back to LA, a couple Unilocal reviews and the fact it is close to my house was good enough for me to give it a shot.
I was able to get in with a days notice and the dentist spent more time with me than any other dentist in my life. Not just the obligatory mouth open «looks good» that is all too often in the industry.
Highly recommended.

Thomas is an amazing dentist and human being. I have had the good fortune of getting to know Thomas outside of the dental office as well as inside.
As a dentist he takes the time to get it right. Apparently I’ve not been to the dentist’s office for a while because I was blown away at the technology. I went in for an inlay and he had it finished up in a short time… everything done in one visit so I didn’t have to come back again.
I have always felt that he has time for me and cares that the work is done properly.
As a human being he is involved in so many philanthropic causes it is inspiring. I give Thomas my highest recommendation and if you are looking for a great dentist look no further.

Dr. Fitzpatrick is more than just a great dentist, he’s also a great friend. (No seriously, he’s a good friend of mine.) He cares very much about developing solid relationships with his clients and values quality dental care over volume, so you’ll feel well taken care of sitting in his dental chair. He’s also got the best equipment and uses the latest technology, such as digital imaging, and you get to watch some seriously entertaining DVDs during your teeth cleaning.
Dr. Fitzpatrick is relatively young and a lot of fun, which helps soften the experience for those of us (who, me? nahhh) who may not enjoy going to the dentist all that often. His staff is also friendly. Every little bit helps, right?
While you’re getting your teeth all done up, ask him about his yearly trip to Nicaragua, where he leads a team of dental students to perform free dental care for the poor. He’s got a great story about an interaction with a very high ranking Nicaraguan government official you may or may not have heard of…
