Established in 1977.

Under new management as of July 2015. Doctors Baransky, Barnhart and Phillips are retiring and transitioning their patients to Dr. Tarkan Sidal. Dr. Sidal is pleased to welcome all patients to his practice and looks forward to meeting you soon.

Business Owner

Dr. Sidal is a graduate of the University of California San Francisco Dental School and the University of Illinois, Chicago, Medical School. He completed the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency program at the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago. He served as the Chief Resident in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and completed a General Surgery Internship at the University of California Medical Center in San Francisco. He also completed a two year fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the San Diego Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a member of American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

When one of my teeth was causing me serious pain, my dentist referred me here to get it removed as soon as possible since their office wasn’t able to fit me in soon enough. Dr. Sidal’s staff was able to get me a same-​day consult and scheduled the procedure for the next day. Everyone was super professional and made it such an easy experience, especially compared to my previous experience at smilecare (ugh). Hopefully won’t have to come back soon — no more tooth issues at the moment! — but if I do need another removal this will definitely be the first place I call!

Dr. Sidal and his staff are professional, kind, and more than competent.
I had one wisdom tooth removed at this location about 10 years ago; unfortunately at the time my dentist only put the one tooth to be removed so the surgeon could only do what the dentist ordered although it was recommended top and bottom come out — yadda yadda… Decided to go through with the one tooth as I was in pain.
I had such a positive experience that today I called them back to have the lone tooth finally removed. Same day they were able to squeeze me in and fixed me up. Dr. Sidal and both nurses on staff could not have done anything better; it was even smoother than the first time.
Congrats to new ownership and management; I highly recommend to everyone.

Dr. Sidal and his wonderful staff made my wisdom teeth extraction a non stressful event! After a consultation I scheduled the surgery. I have never been put under or undergone surgery and was pretty nervous. Dr. Sidal and the wonderful ladies who work there made sure to answer any and all questions I had. Afterwords, they even gave me a Jamba Juice gift card and called me later that night! I got an additional call the day after to make sure I was alright. I have my follow up appointment next week and I’m so glad my dentist Dr. Wong (in La Jolla) referred me here. My boyfriend is up next to get his out and after seeing how I was treated isn’t worried at all. Thank you Dr. Sidal and staff!

Very professional Dr and staff. Dr Phillips was professional in explaining each step of the procedure so that I understood what was going to happen and how long it would take for the extraction of my old and now infected root canal. He and his assistant George worked quickly and well together. It was a painful procedure but I was made as comfortable as possible… I was even given a blanket as it gets cool in the a/​c when you are sitting for a while. Dr Phillips also called me later that evening to check on me.

Dr. Phillips needs to retire. Poor bedside manner and completely botched my implant. Didn’t request a CT scan when there was infection and left part of the old root that caused implant to fail. Now have to drive to Loma Linda to try and fix all of the issues caused by Dr. Phillips poor judgement. Do not use him for implant surgery.

Dr. Philips and his staff took great care of my father who was visiting from Europe and needed an emergency dental procedure. They were thorough, professional and caring, also in the billing department. Dr. Philips was wonderful with my father, even calling later to follow up!

Dr. Baransky & staff are amazing. Half way thru a wisdom tooth extraction procedure at my dentist, they tell me that they can not finish the job as my roots were hooked with one being wrapped around the mandibular nerve. Gnarly.
SO halfway dazed and in a lot of pain I was recommended to Torrey Pines Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Baransky laid it all out for me, letting me know the options. 4 hours to repair the work the dentist had done and get those stubborn teeth out. Its been a few months now and I have recovered 100%.
I had to come back for two office visits, just to make sure the healing process was going okay. Each time I came back the staff was so warm and welcoming, they seemed very concerned with my well being. If I happen to need any more dental work, I wont think twice about choosing TPOMS.

Will not recommend them. They are nice when you first in to get the procedure done, but once you’re done. They hit you hard with the bill with unreasonable charges. What Tracey quoted me in the beginning was totally wrong and they have the nerve to report me to the collections!

Had to go here for a procedure which I was not looking forward to. But I will say, full explanation of the procedure put me at ease and the procedure itself went off without a hitch. Follow up visit was thorough and billing was handled professionally with integrity.
