Trisler’s Wine Bar

I found this place on Unilocal and decided to meet a first date it was a blind date here. I got there a little bit before my date I met Gino the bartender. He made me and my date feel so comfortable the first date went great thanks to him. Gino is the most amazing wing man and a terrific bartender as well. The wine was terrific the atmosphere was terrific and he was terrific. I will definitely go back and I recommend it to everybody on the first date

Live music is back! This is a great place to sit back and relax. The owner and the rest of the staff are super friendly, the wine is outstanding, the appetizers done artfully, and the prices are extremely reasonable. Living mere steps away is a bonus.

An intimate sanctuary in the midst of a busy city. The Pinot noir was delicious. The live music was both marvelous and mellow… perfection!

I have been a customer of Trisler’s for many years. When Stephanie owned and operated this business, I actually believed that this was one of the best wine bars in the city and a true hidden neighborhood gem. Stephanie expended the extra effort that was necessary to ensure that every food and beverage item that was offered was the highest quality at the most reasonable price. She was a true connoisseur dedicated to Oenophilia. Stephanie researched and profiled every wine and carefully paired her food offerings with the wines that she selected.
Since Stephanie has sold her business to the present owners, I believe that the venue has become a MESS — both from a menu as well as a service perspective. This speaks volumes to the notion that change is NOT always good. At first, the new owners had Stephanie stay on to «show them the ropes» for a successful transition. However, at the end of the day, not everyone has the inherent capacity to successfully own and operate a wine bar.
What a shame!

I stopped in the other day (Friday after work), and the owner/​bartender was very polite. Nice wines, great prices, and a small place. Music is coming back late October. It’s simple, and sometimes simple is better. I feel like it’s a good spot to go on a date — you’ll hear each other and you won’t have to worry about waiting for your wine when you are sitting at the bar or at a table. If you want a loud and busy place paired with people watching… this is not a place for you!

I have been here twice to have a glass of wine.
This is the perfect place to go after work to relax, The ambiance had a cozy feel to it.
The beer selection is very good.
I will definitely be back

Very nice ambience. Too bad because the food when ordered is laughable. Pieces of cheese, bread cut so thin that you could see through them. Honestly they have no clue how to run a business. Bad reviews are there for a reason – stop being so damn cheap. Ordered two glasses of wine and would have ordered more but it was obvious we were dealing with an incredibly cheap establishment. Guys wise up – return business will never come your way. Too bad –has a lot of potential but that kind of psychology you cannot change in others. And no happy hour on Saturday – which in most cases makes sense but not when there is not a soul in the place. I personally would change the name which was there before the new management and completely rethink the business through.

Great ambiance! They had a live band playing and boy could the lead singer sing! The wine menu was pretty good. My favorite was the peach moscato. Yummmmmy! Keep in mind, I am your typical sweet drink kinda gal. My boyfriend enjoyed the ports and he liked the first one on the menu best… sorry, I can’t remember the name. We ordered the Brie with Honey & Walnuts. Not impressed. It was a sloppy plate and the best thing on it was the bread. The service was decent, but I wasn’t a fan of feeling like I couldn’t keep a menu to browse and decide on my next drink before my current one was over. All in all, I think I may return. Give this place another try because I did enjoy their wine selection and the live music was great.

Limited selection and super over priced (by the glass and by the bottle). Their snacks are limited as well. Their meat platters (which they don’t really have, it’s a combination of meat, cheese and fruits) are very generic, no differently than what I can get at Ralph’s or Albertson. In fact I think Ralph’s and Albertson has better cured meat selection. Parking is small but I never had any trouble finding parking. They do have a great line of musicians playing live music through the week (hence the 2 stars).

affordable, fun but not too noisy, and just Enough going on to keep you entertained. Food trucks frequently stop and they said bands play routinely. All sound really fun! I’ll be there again June 5^th when Red Oven — pizza returns!

I visit once in a while as this establishment is in my neighborhood and within walking distance. Small and cozy. Wine list is small but good. They have a regular schedule of live entertainment which I enjoy. If it gets crowded they set out tables and chairs on the sidewalk.

We went last night around 6pm
The ambient was cozy and romantic, the staff was very friendly and well prepared.
The wine selection was limited but very well detailed and articulate.
We took a fabulous Cabernet!
We also wanted to try some appetizers, we took an Italian cheese Platter and Olive Tapenade. We think everything was very good and fresh.
We felt very comfortable the entire time.

Seeked out Unilocal for help… thought I’d find a new cool wine bar to go to around the area. Ummmm…
We got there and the place was almost empty and very quiet, had 2 people at the bar, plus us makes 5. The wine selection was limited. We asked the nice lady who was the only worker there what she suggested. A bottle of Pinot, it was just alright and was the best of the three we tasted. We also wanted to try the Brie w/​Caramelized onions. I think that everything on that plate was from Costco, from the crackers to the Brie… absolutely not worth the hefty price tag.
I really wanted to like this place. Service was so slow but the waitress was nice and friendly. Maybe I’ll try again

Went there last night for happy hour with two people. I will say if you are going there to drink wine only, you will enjoy the cute décor and intimate setting. Wines are good! If you are hungry or are a foodie, I would stay away. The grande cheese platter (which I might add is $ 26) was not very «grande» and I recognized many items I regularly buy at Coscto. The manchego was low quality and basically you could put this same platter together for yourself very easily for a few bucks. Since we were still hungry after the «grande» platter, we ordered the artichoke dip which everyone on Unilocal seems to be raving about. They must not have taste buds… sorry but it was borderline bitter, not creamy at all and you can tell it was microwaved.
Server was friendly and knew his stuff… so I give them credit for that. I dropped $ 150 (including tip) which I normally don’t mind at all if I walk away with happy tastebuds and a full belly. I left feeling robbed. Boo!

Near the Promenade Apartment Complex, small cozy wine bar with a small but thoughtful selection of wines and snacks like cheese plates.
Came her with a couple of friends to check out a live music event (1 guy singing and his Meetup group). The small place (room for 25 – 30) was packed so our only seating option was outside in the nice fall evening and we had some wine here. The Cabernet was delicious and peppery. The Chardonnay was buttery.

We’ve been meaning to check this place out for two years and finally got the chance last week on my mom’s birthday. We had a couple of hours to kill before our dinner reservation at Cucina Urbana, so we stopped in for happy hour.
The place is darling. Dark woods, candles on the tables, and rich, embroidered curtains create an intimate vibe. Stephanie (the owner?) told us about the happy hour wines ($ 5 a pour) and brought a round of waters. The non-​happy-​hour wines are priced between $ 8 and $ 12 a glass. They also have bottled beers.
Wi-​fi is available, so we got on our laptops and caught up on emails. A musician was setting up in the corner when we left. Looks like they have live music most nights at 7pm. The also serve a handful of appetizers. On a couple nights during the week there is a food truck outside that you can order food from.
Overall, a nice place to hang out for a glass of wine before dinner!

I used to visit Trisler’s all the time when I lived in the Promenade Rio Vista apartment complex (where the bar is located … couldn’t beat the trip home). Now it’s a bit more out of the way, but still very much worth the trip.
The ambiance is cozy and intimate, and both the patrons and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. You can stop in by yourself for a glass of wine, and end up with a new group of friends (and I tend to be on the shy side!). Admittedly if it’s packed the service can be a little slow, but don’t get your britches in a bunch. They are not ignoring you, so take a load off, relax a little, stop and smell the rosés.
While the wine list might appear a bit limited for a wine bar (roughly 10 each of red and white), the selection is rotated frequently, so if you visit Trisler’s often you’ll have plenty of opportunity to try many different wines. At first glance the prices appear to be on the more expensive side (usually about $ 8 – 10 per glass, though they do sometimes have specials), but the pours are very generous, so it all evens out in the end.
One of the things that actually keeps me coming back is the cheese platter. I love ordering it as a meal to go with my wine. It always has toasted baguette slices, crackers, a selection of three cheeses, sliced salami, nuts, grapes, and dried fruit (usually some combination of dates, apricots, and/​or dried cranberries), and has sometimes had apple slices and olives. I actually like that it isn’t the same every time I order it; it’s sort of like playing dinner roulette, but I enjoy being surprised. I suppose a picky eater might want to verify what they’re going to get, but I’ve never had a platter there that I haven’t loved. (As far as size goes, when I’m by myself I get the small; my husband and I will split the medium.)
Amidst the cookie-​cutter chain store wilderness that is Mission Valley, Trisler’s is truly a hidden gem.

Pretty cool wine bar in the middle of an apartment complex. 5 star everything, except for the selection. It’s a wine bar, but has like, 10 red, and 10 white? Seems a bit on the small side for a WINE BAR, being that a non-​wine bar has lists much longer than that.
Anyway, everything is great. Prices are moderate. Service is friendly.

Cozy, little hidden wine bar in the Mission Valley. It’s exactly where it is on the map, but when you turn into the street, it looks like you are entering an apartment complex. Yes… enter here and go down past the 18 or so speed bumps and the wine bar will be on the right.
I needed to find a wine bar nearby since I just had some crappy chardonnay wine from Seau’s. Yah yah I know… why did I get wine from a sports bar? Lessons learned, moving on. But this place is cool, Stephanie, the wine lady was super cool, and was awesome with the customers, both the newbies and the regulars.
She recommended the Saint George Chardonnay from the Central Coast. Ah definitely hit the spot. Totally wiped away the crappy chard I had earlier. Very nice, very soothing. It was only $ 5 a gas.
Though, I just missed happy hour, ended at 7pm, there was still some pretty decent wine at a reasonable price. Next, I went with something sweet, more like a riesling, and she recommended Dr. Loosen riesling from Germnay. Again, another good decent wine, nice, slightly aromatic, slightly citric flavor with a hint of apricots.
Décor is cool, nice bar area, some tables, and a couple of sofas. Definitely a cool spot to hang out for a nice bottle. Smoke outside if you want. Nice clean bathroom too, smelled like potpourri.
