TSA Checkpoint 2 – San Diego International Airport

TSA personnel are totally rude and extremely unprofessional. They continously fail to provide sufficient instuctions and guidance to travelers resulting in long wait times and upset traveler’s and agents. The precheck line is a joke as it is operational with limited hours. Off hours you’re just wrangled in with the rest of the passengers and still have to remove laptops and liquids. This TSA division needs to be overhauled with new leadership that provides a safe and positive environment for travelers. Training for all employees on customer service and professionalism needs to be conducted. Subpar performance overall.

So, to start with, I am tsa pre and global entry. Get in the tsa pre line. Ass hole checking ID pulls from the tsa pre lines ONLY when the regular line is empty. Guy is like a red headed giant leprechaun. I finally go up. Put my phone on the reader and hand him my license. He knocks my phone on the ground. Says nothing. Stands up and stands back. Staring at me then my phone then me. No ‘hey sorry, here’s your phone sir”. Nothing. So I bend over and pick my phone up. then I move on
No pre check security screen. Put my stuff in the xray. So they pull my laptop bag out for special screening. Note here. I travel 48 weeks of 52 with the same shit every week. That bag and everything in it has been through a couple hundred screenings.
So they rub down my laptop with the wand. It fucking alarms.
The idiot with the wand tells her supervisor who wispers to her that she just calibrated it and «It always alarms right after that» Really?!
Do they stop? Nope. Full inspection. Back room. Take all my shit out. 20 minutes.
Last time I checked, my taxes paid these idiots’ salaries. I am the CUSTOMER.
So TSA, overall if I had a choice, I’d find a new provider. You suck. In San Diego however, you truly have a gaggle of arrogant, non thinking slugs of respirating brain dead tissue that don’t think and treat your customers with complete disregard. Go fix it.

I usually show up early for flights since the required check in time varies. This TSA checkpoint goes faster than most larger airports, but I have never been through when the line is completely wrapped around all of the stanchions. As a whole TSA agents seem to always be stern, but I suppose it’s part of their job. I always try to compliment them if I find one that acts like they like their job. They have plenty of seating after security to put your shoes on and gather your belongings, too.

I have to say this was one of the smoothest tsa and security experiences I have had. Lines were short and staff was professional and polite. I travel every week and this not usually the case. Other airports please use from this example.

Tsa personnel says I am moving too fast on putting the luggage on the belt and i looked too stress with my crying toddler. Apparently he prefers my toddler cry more by sending me to extra screening and hold up the line. Government idiots!

I hate flying out of here. As someone who opts out, I have been made to wait for 20 min because they are «waiting for a female agent” — oh yeah? Did you call one? No, not the over the shoulder «female agent» statement that even I standing right in front of you could barely hear, did you actually let them know? No, I didn’t think so. Completely inefficient and rude (usually the male agents, when a female agent finally arrives they are not so bad). They have no clue how to handle opt outs, they try to force me to put my items in scanner and separate them from me so they get stolen (you are allowed to keep them until agent arrives), they have a lot to learn.

TSA Thousands Standing Around San Diego airport has one of the worst TSA experiences I’ve encountered. I have over 1.5 million air miles under my ass, so I’ve seen a few. And oh by the way my name is Brent «Abdulla», so those random security checks aren’t really so random. Very disorganized overall. I’d blame it on the management staff. Well actually a fish rots from the head down so I’ll blame it on Obama.

I love San Diego airports security — fast, clean, and the agents are nice. Especially the guy working TSA pre check the night of ⁸⁄₁₈ for terminal 2. He was hilarious, made jokes, informative clear directions, and happy. BEST security experience I have ever had and I hope TSA reads this so can let him know how wonderful he made it.

They put on quite show for airline passengers. All for public relations but unfortunately very little for security. TSA is becoming a real joke.

YAY I love when I get the TSA precheck on my boarding pass and how quick it is to go through security, only issue is people that don’t travel very often are slow, they are not sure about what to do and the security people sometimes assume everyone knows but it’s still faster than the regular line.

Going through here is slower than most major airports. I don’t mind at all because I show up 2 hours before a flight, have my laptop easily accessible and take my shoes off. Easy day to make sure everyone is safe. Keep up the good work TSA!

I paid $ 85, drove to do the pre-​check interview etc etc and got a Known Traveler number last month since I am traveling a lot. I got pre-​check on the way to San Diego and not on the return flight. I called TSA and they explained that the fee, the interview and the number etc simply mean that you are «eligible» and may get pre-​check, or may not as it is a random process. In other words, TSA got my time and money and is giving me almost nothing in return. Big rip-​off from what TSA rep Brian told me today. I will tell my other family members considering doing it not to waste their time and money — what’s the point?

How is the TSA still in business? They are inefficient, bloated, and don’t give a damn about their customers. It takes at least 4 ‘officers’ to accomplish what one normal person could do. They are mall cops in different uniforms that pick up kick ass federal pay and benefits. And they STILL seem lazy and pissed that they actually have to show up for ‘work’!
I went through security at a very off peak hour. There were 3 lines that converged into one… with one dude checking IDs and boarding passes. Of course there were 3 other clowns WATCHING him check these IDs, but of course none of them could bother going to one of the open podiums and actually trying to help alleviate the bottleneck. No, that would make too much sense.
Oh, and I just remembered how they are in business… its the awesome federal government. But I’m sure they will be able to run the country’s healthcare system just fine!
