Tuxedo Park

I love everything about this park! It so quiet and peaceful. It has a huge field and basketball courts! Not to mention it’s a beautiful place to take the whole family. It’s never crowded oh I love this!

As a mother of toddlers, we are always on the search for the perfect park. (In case you care, we are still looking.)
Tuxedo park is an older park that is well taken care of. There wasn’t any trash on the grounds and the landscaping is well kept as well. Sadly, there are no bathrooms, which is a bummer for kids. There also isn’t much shade, if any. So the earlier you come, the better. The play structures are older and metal. This means hot metal slides. The swings are in great condition and swing well, no annoying squeaking sound that some older swings have.
The park is near a nice neighborhood. The street across the playground doesn’t seem to have much traffic and the traffic is has drives pretty slow. The layout of the playground is nice and you can see everything from basically anywhere. A few picnic tables and benches are scattered around.
There is a large grassy area as well were people bring their dogs to play which is a good distance from the actual playground.

Pleasant old fashioned park in a quiet neighborhood with beautiful mountain and valley views. The two play structures are metal with a wide slide and a tube slide and a tire swing. This park has play sand and not wood chips or shredded tires. Swing set has two swings and two toddler swings. On the other end of the park there is a basketball court and a grass area with a paved oval track around it perfect for bicycle or roller skate riding. Plenty of picnic tables, but no public restrooms. Overall a great park for a relaxing family outing, sort of a hidden gem.

Tuxedo Park is a well kept public playground nestled in this hilly, residential San Carlos neighborhood.
There’s an open grassy field that the kiddie soccer clubs use. The space might be big enough for bigger kids. Grass coverage is nice with no obvious bare patches and seems level enough. Looks like a fine location to have an outdoor party with an inflatable bounce house.
There’s a single, full-​sized basketball court. You know it’s a nice neighborhood when the backboards and rims are intact with nylon nets. It’s kinda rough when the nets are either replaced by chains or simply missing altogether. It’s straight up hardcore when the backboards and rims are gone, never to be replaced.
This playground has sandbox ground cover instead of wood chips or that softer dense foam surface similar to those squishy anti-​fatigue mats. The picnic area is incorporated between the basketball and playground areas, with garbage cans and charcoal disposal containers
What’s missing at Tuxedo Park? A bathroom. Tighten up, because the nearest public facility is a distance away along Jackson Dr.

This park is within walking distance to our house and my kids LOVE to go here. They are 10 and 12, so the playground is quite outdated (and young) for them, however they love to take their bikes and ride around the paved sidewalk area. It’s a nice big area and we usually stay for about an hour each visit. This is a very popular park with dog owners and my kids love to visit with the local dogs. :) Lots of shady spots for sitting and we usually play a round of basketball too.

It’s a nice little park that doesn’t get too busy. They have a little playground area with two swings (my favorite part, clearly) and some other things. I love the fact that I can stop by here on my jogs and go swinging for a bit. There is a big grassy area for soccer and other such sports, sometimes I see people doing different work out on here as well. They also have a basketball court, I see different people playing there, especially early in the evening.
They also have the usual park benches and nature scenery to enjoy the view. Part of the view actually overlooks part of San Carlos and it’s nice.
During summer my friends and I walk the dogs and have picnics here. It’s so nice and calming. I love the smell of grass and being able to think about everything. There is street parking for this place.
A downside is that it is kind of creepy at night (I go running at night a lot) and there aren’t that many lamp posts right around the area. In a sense it’s motivating because I freak myself out by thinking there is someone hiding who is going to kill me/​kidnap so it makes me run a lot faster to the other side and up another street.
Overall I enjoy this place, so don’t too many of you rush there and ruin the calm for me!
