It is the only Martial Arts school in the state of California that has qualified for an ORI number by the California Department of Justice to perform Level 2 Fingerprint background checks on all staff members

Every instructor is First Aid/​CPR Certified

Video surveillance is located in the studio for the student’s safety

All Instructors attend The Academy of Martial Arts Instruction and Management for up to two years, including internship

Instructors meet weekly and attend educational seminars in order to continuously provide students with the most progressive training possible

Students receive personalized lessons to allow full comprehension of the techniques while they grow at their own pace

Testing is done when the student is ready and not based upon a time limit or group majority

A Life Skills syllabus is included in the curriculum to assist parents and teachers in developing well-​rounded individuals

Fun events and programs are included for the entire family

TF has created a not for profit organization (501 c3) Team Focus for Freedom that provides funding, rehabilitative and educational programs to eradicate the trafficking of minors in California.

History

Established in 2009.

USSD Team Focus 4s is one of four schools in the San Diego area and is privileged to be an active part of the community for over 6 years. Along with the staff at Aviara, Rancho Peñasquitos, and Scripps Ranch, our 4S Instructors work collectively to deliver the highest quality of full-​time Martial Arts and Life Skills Training available for adults and children of all ages.

Meet the Manager

Sensei Will H.

Manager

Born in Florida, Sensei Will moved to Las Vegas with his family and started classes after High School as a theater major with focus on voice inflection and projection. After his parents enrolled him in the United Studios of Self Defense as a young teen to help him gain confidence, he realized shortly after his first year of college that teaching children and adults in the martial arts and life skills was his true calling. After graduating from the Team Focus Academy of Martial Arts Instruction and Management, Sensei Will’s twenty years experience that also includes placing five times in the Grand National Championship Instructors Division and receiving the 2012 and 2015 Instructor of the Year Award, has benefited the students of 4S Ranch for the last five years.
