Came here for a pastry & vanilla latte with foam. After paying $ 5.00 for the latte, it did not have vanilla or foam. Brought the drink back in. Instead of correcting their mistake or remaking the drink, the lady behind the counter explained she had been doing this for 22 years and that’s how a latte is made.(Whatever happened to taking care of the customer?) She did ultimately refund me $ 4.50 of the $ 5.00 paid. Did not want to have to, but ended up going to Starbucks for a great tasting vanilla latte for only $ 4.25. Will never visit this business again.

Breakfast sandwiches were very bad. Toast was dry– not buttered, and eggs were very dry and over cooked. Wierd that a pickle is served on the side with eggs. Coffee is ok. Pastries didn’t taste fresh.

The food is decent. The service is SLOW. They advertise Fresh Orange Juice, but I saw the guy pouring it from a gallon jug reminiscent of cheap grocery store concentrate. It tastes like concentrate as well. I’d pass on this place in the future. :(

Puedes disfrutar un bagel con salmón o un sándwich de pavo que sin están buenos. Pero es caro para lo que te ofrecen. Es como para ir cuando tienes poco tiempo. Tal vez volvería.

The wait was extemely long. It took around 30 minutes just for 2 hot sandwiches(I ordered the Chicken Ranch & my boyfriend had the BLT). The sandwiches were good, and the portions were nice, but that wait was just ridiculous. Also, love the dill spear that comes on the side. I just really like it when restaurants add a nice pickle on the side(self-proclaimed pickle lover right here). It was really hot inside the café too — VERY stuffy. It’s more cooler outside than it is inside. Also, be careful with the outside seats & tables! There’s bird/seagull poop on some seating. –__– My boyfriend and I had low expectations for this place, but the sandwiches surprised us. Great place to eat in seafood village if you’re on a budget. Just expect a long wait… And $ 1.75 for a regular bag of chips!!! You must be out of your mind lol. Can’t lie customer service was really great though! Can’t complain about that! And also the location — there was a nice band playing outside to enjoy.

Place is ok. Convenient for SDCC since it’s «off the con path» and food is decent, nothing to write home about. Had a veggie sandwich, bread was fresh and it was made with brie cheese, so that was nice. Coffee was ok, kinda watery. Outdoor seating in Seaport Village is the highlight.

Got the turkey cranberry sandwich, fries, and a small drink(damn, missed the free drink with a Unilocal check-in) that cost me over $ 15. Basically, the sandwich tastes like something you’d make in your kitchen in a rush. In other words, it was pretty bad. I’m adding a couple of stars since its in a really good location and a pleasant place to sit. Don’t go here unless you really need food badly.

This is the most hit or miss spot in SD. One thing you will always miss is their customer service. Every time I come in here, there are different people working. ALL of them have an attitude. NONE are ever friendly. You have to really make sure you’re repeating what you want to make sure they understand because I don’t think they listen half the time. I’ve also almost always see someone eating over the food line. The reason why I keep coming back is because they’re so close to my work and their food is decent for a deli. I think the only reason why they’re still in business is because they’re in Seaport Village so there will always be that turnover of tourists to pay their rent. Oh…pass on the«avocado». They don’t seem to actually put any on. Instead it’s a paste that’s usually half brown. So gross.

Updated: my bad with not reviewing my spelling, I mean to say the coffee was not bad, the weather is hot that day so it probably water down a lot faster than I can drink it. The staff are very nice and polite and I appreciate the owner response to my comment. Please understand that my review is base on 2 items that I order and there others items that serve here and I notice that people like their sandwich and other breakfast items. Stop here for lunch right before the seal tour. Order Chicken Caesar Salad and the chicken is actually lunch meat on top of that part of it was dry due to being sit out uncover too long but at lease the lettuce was fresh. The coffee was not bad a bit water down. I will only get bottle drink here or sandwich.

I got a wrap and my wife got a sandwich and both were excellent. Staff was OK, teen or college age boys. The were kind and helpful. They have Mt Dew! I will visit again.

Had breakfast here this morning. Nice location, decent service. Food was very mediocre. Had a breakfast croissant with egg and cheese. I think it was pre made and just microwaved, very disappointing, I only ate half of it. Really, it seems like it would be hard to mess up a croissant sandwich this badly.

Came here while I was walking by the harbor with my buddy. Nice spot to come relax during the day, grab a sandwich and beer and hang out. My turkey, bacon avocado sandwich was off the charts delicious and the staff was super friendly. Nice patio for people-watching and resting your feet. Cool spot and I definitely want to come back, with my girlfriend. Lost a star because they serve Pepsi :/ Recommended!

Stopped in here for a breakfast sandwich while waiting for the San Diego SEAL Tour, which leaves from Seaport Village just around the corner. Chose the veggie omelet sandwich with brie on toasted sourdough. With a large OJ the bill was around $ 12… ordered inside and went outdoors to wait at a table with one of those number signs. Sandwich was delivered within 5 mins and was piping hot, with lots of onions, peppers, tomatoes. The veggies were tender-crisp, the eggs were cooked through but not dry. My only complaints were it was a bit heavy on the onion, and it needed a little more seasoning — some fresh herbs and salt. Otherwise, it was a generous size, the cheese was great, it hit the spot. The outdoor seating is nice … at the time of my visit San Diego is having a heat wave, so it was a little warm, but on their usual day it would be a lovely spot for a sandwich, breakfast or otherwise.

I have been here twice and both times was the same. Staff seemed kind of bored, not really engaging with us. The food was ok. I got a grilled ham and cheese. Nothing special about it. The location is very cute, and there is a nice little that bands can play or performers. But nothing more about this place was a wow.

I showed up early in the morning for a photo shoot, and guess what, they had cheese fries ready to go. I don’t know about you, but its hard to find a place that serves cheese fries at 9ish/10ish in the morning. And for that they have earned my trust for life yo. Also, the guy was cool about me being super indecisive about what i wanted to drink.

The Village Café has been a Seaport Village staple for as long as I can remember. It was my go to spot if I forgot to bring my lunch. They also have one of my favorite sandwiches: Chicken Ranch Delight. Grilled chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, ranch and a side of pickle to compliment your sandwich. It’s been a few months since I’ve gone back to the café, but each time, I order the same sandwich and consistent with taste. I have yet to be disappointed. Summer gets busy because it’s a tourist attraction and with Comic Con just a couple of blocks away, this place gets packed quick. The best time to go would be dinner time, by then the crowd has died down a bit, making your wait for a sandwich not too long.

My boyfriend and I strolled in after a walk along seaport hoping to get a quick bite to eat. The location is cute, outdoors and luckily for us it was a sunny day! My boyfriend ordered the BLT while I ordered a turkey wrap. The portions were pretty generous but the sandwiches were dull and bland. The BLT is supposed to come with avocado but instead they put a light smear of fake guacamole inside. My boyfriend wasn’t sure if they had forgotten the guacamole or if this was simply how they make it? So after asking, they put a little more on the sandwich and we kept eating. My turkey wrap was okay, nothing to brag about. just something to hold me over. For 2 sandwiches and no drink or chips it was close to $ 20. I probably won’t be back, the quality of food for the price just does not add up.

Make sure you«check-in» if you plan to buy a sandwich. You’ll get a free soda in return. ;) I, on the other hand, didn’t want a sandwich. I was craving soup and a light snack so I opted for a cup of clam chowder and pretzel with hot cheese dip. My gf got cheese fries and they were super yummy!!! Seasoned fries with melted hot cheese on top. I’m craving them as I type. Unfortunately, I was not as excited about my soup. I suppose being from the Bay Area, I know what a good chowder is supposed to taste like. I thought San Diego was a safe bet but I was wrong. Village Café’s clam chowder was watery, bland, and lacked a key ingredient… Clams! I literally ate ¼ of the cup and gave up. My pretzel, though, was a nice treat. If you’re dining outside you can’t help but smell the very inviting aroma of freshly-baked cookies from Seaport Cookie Company. OMG, yes please.

I was on a business trip for a conference in San Diego and Sea Port Village was within walking distance of the hotel. My colleagues and I sampled many offerings in this tourist trap area and we found most of the restaurants here to be gimmicky, over-priced and underwhelming with the food delivery. Not so w/this place. Because our conference was in town(about 1000 people attending) and also the huge ESRI conference(33,000 in attendance), the village was busting at the seams and the Village Café was PACKED. Despite this, their staff was up to the challenge, moving people through the line to order quite quickly. I special ordered my sandwich and it was done correctly, was done well and on time. The prices were shockingly low for this area. I’d probably spend more at Subway, frankly. Note: If you check-in with Unilocal before you order, you get a free fountain drink with your order.

Came here with my sister and cousin because my sister wanted clam chowder… wrong place to go! She got a small cup of clam chowder for $ 5 and when they brought it out… it was way too watery. Who gives out watery clam chowder?
