I love this place and this review is long overdue. I’ve been browsing vintage revivals for years and when I moved into my new apartment, I knew it was the place to go for unique statement pieces at an affordable cost. After seeing some great pieces that weren’t exactly what I needed, I was directed to the workshop area where they have pieces that have yet to be refinished. I worked with Dan who is a shabby chic master. I went in looking for bedside tables and he custom made 2 for $ 50 a piece. It was ridiculously inexpensive. I then saw a lovely antique dining table and also had him custom make that piece and upholster four chairs. The results were unbelievable. Everyone is in love with these pieces. I was so happy with them that I asked him to find me a tv stand and again Dan delivered! A stunning multilevel tv stand with display nooks for $ 200! The cheapest ones that I could find elsewhere were at least $ 250 and they were boring and ugly… I now have multiple custom pieces from vintage revivals and would recommend them and Dan to anyone. I now have a furniture guy and place in San Diego and lets be honest… who doesn’t love saying «custom.»

This place is full of gems & I realized early on that a couple of rounds is needed to take in everything. If you’re looking for old first editions, for instance, check out the books merchandised all over store; they’re stacked in piles, lining shelves, and stored atop each other in bins. One great find: a first edition Rudyard Kipling over 100 years old. Be sure to keep an eye out when you’re here because the nifty typewriter stand or Cosco stool that belongs in your home could very well be hidden in plain sight.

Great store to just browse or come with the intent to purchase. They have so many neat items, it’s hard to walk out without buying something. If you find something but don’t like the color, they’ll paint it for you!
Just moved to the neighborhood/​CA and was walking along the street and decided to stop in… best decision. Dan took the time to go between the store and workshop numerous times to help me select the best pieces for my space and taste. Then, on to the paint color — where Dan created a custom color based on my taste and color palette.
Will definitely go back and recommend to others!

My husband and I had been searching for a kitchen table for our new place on Craigslist, and we were striking out. We went into Vintage Revivals, and immediately fell in love with the rustic feel of the pieces inside. Unfortunately, none of the tables available fit the area we needed it, so we were sent to the warehouse to see if there was anything there. There we found Dan, who, with a little imagination, helped us create the perfect table. Using recycled materials, he created a table in our budget, with the colors we wanted! Every step of way, we were involved in the planning process from the color, the size of the table, to if the planks on top were level enough. Thanks to Vintage Revivals, we were able to get a beautiful, one-​of-​a-​kind table at a perfect price, from a very friendly and helpful staff! I would absolutely go again, and recommend it to any of my friends and family!

I’m new to the San Diego area and was scowering Craig’slist for furniture when I came upon their ad. I decided to check out their store and absolutely fell in love! They have so many unique pieces! I didn’t find a dresser that I absolutely loved in the store so Carol (i think that was her name) took me out to the warehouse to meet Dan. I found a completely untouched dresser. Dan was awesome and worked with me to pick out the perfect color and knobs. I love that I got a custom piece!!! They even delivered it for me! I can’t wait to go back and find new gems!

I stopped by to look for a display case were I can store retail items for sale and found this amazing piece what do you think? After looking for the perfect coffee table for months, my boyfriend and I decided to check out Craigslist. We happened upon one of Vintage Revivals’ ads for a white Ethan Allen coffee table. On a Saturday afternoon, we walked in and were immediately helped by the lovely lady in the store. We asked about the ad and she directed us to the coffee table. We loved it, so she had us go talk to Dan about delivery. Our apartment is only about 10 – 15 min away, so he said he’d gladly deliver it later that day for a very small fee for fuel.
We left our name and phone number at the front of the store, and Dan delivered the table right when he said he was going to. I am so in love with the coffee table. It fits our living room perfectly. I’m so impressed with the quality. I will definitely be back when in the market for furniture. and I don’t think I’ll be able to stop myself from taking a look around inside when strolling along Newport Ave. All in all, it was an overall great experience and we are very happy with our purchase!

Inspired to write my first review on Unilocal or EVER. My husband and I got up Saturday morning on a mission to find the perfect tall dresser with the exact measurements to fit in our limited space. I found Vintage Revivals on Unilocal and we headed to the store. It was even better than I expected. We were greeted immediately at the door and made to feel welcomed. We were told about the sale and asked what we were looking for. I described the dresser and explained my limited space issues. I was told without hesitation that I would find it in that store. While we headed down through the store, I felt hopeful. They have such a variety of furnishings and décor that I was second guessing my decision to downsize. With my tape measure (that was offered to us by the store) I started measuring everything, there were so many choices. We got to the end of the store and unfortunately every dresser was just a couple of inches to big. We proceeded back to the front of the store disappointed because we wanted everything. The same sales lady that had been so accommodating told us that she was surprised and proceeded to tell us that they also had a warehouse just a few stores down. She sent us down to the warehouse to see Dan the owner and artisan of all the lovely furnishings
Dan was probably one of the nicest people that I have ever met. I told him what I needed and he immediately started pulling pieces of furniture out of the warehouse so that we could peak in. WE FOUND IT! The perfect dresser that Dan had just finished with a gorgeous custom color that he created. I was so thrilled and it looks perfect in our home. I cannot say enough about this store. The selection, prices and exceptional customer service was one of the best experiences that I have had in a long time. Thank you Thank you Thank you.

I love this place. I own 10 furniture pieces from this store and countless smaller pieces (signs, birdhouse, wall hanging etc.). One piece I had refinished to a custom color that I went back and mixed the color with the gal who was going to re-​paint it. I have friends who come in from our of town and this is a must visit on their list… They’ve bought a dozen plus pieces and countless smaller items as well… benches, dining tables, end tables, coffee tables, shelves of all types. The prices are superb. The items are creative and make the other ships in newport look shabby or grossly over-​priced.

This place is a little gold mine, owned and operated by two of the loveliest human beings around, Rebecca and Dan. Can’t find what you’re looking for in the shop? Head out back and Dan will custom make, create, furnish, paint, put together just about any lil piece of furniture that your heart desires.
If you’re at all into the whole support your local business thang, this place is one to back. So, I’ll be back.

I have 5 pieces of furniture from this place and I could not be happier with them all! This is truly on-​of-​a-​kind store, and they even custom build furniture to fit your home perfectly. Their prices are very reasonable and the quality and customer service is fantastic! I highly recommend this place.

I went into Vintage Revivals looking for some wall décor, and walked away with chairs, outside furniture, and multiple frames and items to hang. Rebecca was so very helpful and even gave me tips on decorating ideas. I highly recommend this store and can not wait to return and find my next treasure. Thanks for the great service!

Complete pretentious CLOWNS. There are much better antique shops on Newport Ave with better owners/​customer service (the owner is the worst, another lady was actually very helpful). Everything is crazy overpriced. AVOID THIS PLACE!

We went antiquing a few weeks ago and found this gem on Newport Ave. We purchased a beautiful corner piece for our living room. The store is narrow but man is it full of amazing items! They organize it so well I’d buy the whole store! The couple that runs this place are so friendly and personable. They also do custom pieces made out of antique furniture! We found an amazing mint ladder in the warehouse and they made it in to a shelving unit for our living room. We have received so many compliments on it. The prices are affordable and a huge variety-​how much better can it get?!

Just bought a really adorable blue dresser!!! This store is super cute and they offer delivery services which is perfect because I am moving next week. So I can have the dresser be kept at the store until then and even have it dropped off! Great service and adorable stuff at great prices! :) Definitely will be back!

While some folks may believe that Ocean Beach is just for Hodad’s, head shops and hippies — there’s a variety of gorgeous, reasonable antique stores on Newport too that are worth checking out.
One of my NY Resolutions was to host a formal tea party with fancy hats, and while I’ve accumulated a few cup and saucer sets over the years I needed a few more to have complete service for eight. After checking out a variety of stores on Newport, Chun P. and I found plenty of cup and saucer sets but the quality and price range discrepancy from shop to shop was huge. We found the most delightful tea sets, quality and prices at Vintage Revivals. Take a peek at my photo! Only $ 9!
Staff at the shop were friendly and helpful too. And my tea party was a smashing success! Everyone adored the food — but the fine teacups were the real show stopper. Thanks Vintage Revivals!

I’ve only stopped in here to poke around and look and almost bought a custom piece for our apartment, but my husband and I decided to wait until we had a home to purchase anything. From what I’ve seen, items are very reasonable even for custom work and their furniture is gorgeous. I spoke with one of the owners for a bit and she was very nice and helpful. I’ll definitely be back when I have a larger place to furnish!

Cute little store where I’ve purchased some items to decorate my place. The owner was very nice and I enjoy stopping in to browse around for any new items that catch my eye. Perfect place to find beach cottage décor.
