History

Established in 2008.

Viva Brazil opened in 2008 in a little studio in Pacific Beach San Diego. After less than a year, Viva Brazil moved to bigger location still in Pacific Beach. Viva Brazil was the first waxing studio specialized in full body waxing and Brazilian waxing using Hard Wax for both Men & Women.

In 2012, our Gaslamp location opened.

Viva Brazil is also the only waxing salon that developed and sell his own wax. Our depilatory waxes: film, soft, hard are distributed by Cire Pro a division of Viva Brazil.

Meet the Business Owner

Margarita S.

Business Owner

Margarita earned her diploma in Atlanta, Georgia with over 1000 clock hours from the International School of Skin and Nails, almost double the practice and education of those required in California. She is also a licensed medical aesthetician through the California State Board of Cosmetology and certified to administer advanced chemical peels.

Before realizing her interest in skincare and waxing, Margarita was in the United States Air Force. She was proudly stationed in the Pentagon flight medical clinic pharmacy servicing the medicinal needs of our country’s military VIP as well as a member of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee for the military DC region.

She worked in Atlanta Med Spas and South Beach, mastering her ‘South Beach’ waxing techniques –resulting in less discomfort to her clients.

Her goal is to provide her clients with optimal customer service and educate them about the most effective products and treatments available –all at an affordable cost.

I had been traveling a while for business and needed a wax, so thought why not try to find something in San Diego. I couldn’t have found a better waxer! Barbie is AWESOME: I have low pain tolerance and this was one of the least painful waxes I have ever had. Only bad part is I live in DC so can’t visit this place much!

This is my first time in the salon and let me tell you i was happy to be here. The are was so close to work and the salon was clean and yhe people was so accommodating, especially i wanna thank you to carla for letting me feel comfortable while she was waxing me. She was professional and wonderful. I had a Brazilian wax and if i had more time in san diego ill definitely going back here because of the my experience.
Plus the price of the services are reasonable.
They also have military discount and happy hour ever tuesday for wax services.

Today was my first visit here. Their positive Unilocal reviews motivated me to go. My appointment was with Barbie and she was beyond professional and helpful.
Viva Brazil uses hard wax which I prefer. The whole establishment is very clean and inviting. I got a Brazilian wax from Barbie and I could not be happier. She was quick, but not rushed. She did such an amazing job I will be returning to visit her in the future.
Overall, my experience was great and I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.

I’ve been coming to Viva Brazil for years to get my eyebrows waxed and finally decided to leave them a well deserved review. I’m not much of a Unilocaler, but feel I should give credit when credit is due.
I’ve never had anything, but great experiences at Viva Brazil. The employees are always friendly and the wax they use is painless and doesn’t cause my face to break out like other places I’ve previously been to. The salon is also very clean and organized.
After coming in over and over I’ve had several interactions with the owner (Margarita). She has a lot of pride about her work and how she runs her business which I respect.
I would recommend this place to anyone I know. As far as this review by «Raquel C» I don’t know what her problem is. Most likely just one of those customers that will never be satisfied.

«margarita» I got one call from the manager later in the day when I was out. ONE call. And I thought it was an apology so I had no rush to call him back. Monica the front desk person charged me. If there was an error that’s on you. I have proof my card was charged the day I came in. Again this shows your complete unprofessionalism. There isn’t even an even apology for my experience.

I have a great experience today at Viva Brazil. I forgot to ask for the name of the lady who waxed my arms, but she was very knowledgable about hair growth, waxing and made some recommendations on how often I should wax and offered different options on what I should do in the future about my arm hair. I highly recommended this place.

This has been my go to waxing salon (I’m here once a month and Viva Brazil has not disappointed).
I continue to come back because prices are reasonable and making an appointment (either on Unilocal or through their website) is so easy — I often don’t know my weekday schedule until a day before (if not, day of) and I almost never have a problem making last minute appointments.
I would not hesitate to recommend Viva Brazil.

Absolutely love Barbie for her professionalism, quickness AND pain free service, PAIN FREE!!!(brazilian wax). She’s been in the business for over 10 years so that explains her greatness. This salon uses hard wax which I believe is the best, I tried soft wax but that left me dissatisfied. She is now my go to gal. =)
I also misplaced an item to where I thought I left at the salon. When I called the salon inquiring about it, the gentleman who took my call was prompt in looking for it AND calling me back within 20 mins to verify it’s status.
Definitely referring my guests to this place when they ask.

I love Margarita! My pain threshold for Brazilian waxes is probably as low as it gets, but she’s so sweet and willing to humor me all the while doing an excellent job. She also does my eyebrow waxes just as well. The wax used at Viva Brazil is much less painful than others I’ve had in the past. And Margarita is too kind — and hilarious.

I’m late posting this review, which I hate bc I can’t remember my waxers name. She was Über professional and nice. I usually get my eyebrows threaded but d/​t a time issue I had to find the closest place around me to give these eyebrows some tlc. This place was conveniently located around the corner and for the life of me can’t understand why I’m just now noticing it. The place is very cozy and clean inside. The rooms are very quiet and comfortable. This place also offers other facial services which I can’t wait to use. They also have very nice products for sale. I purchased an eyebrow powder that I use daily. Prices are reasonable and definitely worth checking out.

So awesome. They took me in even though I late from traffic. I’ve gone to pretty kitty and it didn’t make me want to wax again and this was in and out and I was in very minimal pain and she was so sweet to calming me down and just going for it. It didn’t hurt like the pain I felt my last wax. This was a awesome referral and I’m not getting waxed else where I also love that they save your card on file. Made paying easier and convenient. Barbie was great — I went in yesterday for a full leg, Brazilian and underarm wax and she was very friendly and accommodating. I’m 32 weeks pregnant so was unsure how comfortable I would be on the bed but she made certain I was well looked after the entire time. A big plus was that the salon only uses hard wax for Brazilians (which I believe is super important) and Barbie took the time to be gentle and thorough. I’ll definitely be booking in with her next time I need a wax!

Second time here. I don’t like to stray from my wax girl but this is a bit closer to me at the moment and the customer service is great .They are always on time and super quick. I have already had my Brazilians done before so I know what to expect, so I like to get down to business. No it doesn’t feel great but it’s not suppose to and it’s really not bad. If anyone has never had a Brazilian wax before and you are used to shaving you need to stop shaving and wax it’s the best ever — both ladies I have been to here are awesome and professional and very personable which is a must when working down there. I would recommend trying out Viva Brazil, plus first time clients they offer a great price and the same price for their happy hour. They have a real good brow powders too FYI and skincare for your most sensitive areas

I got my brows done here over the weekend and I still am not too sure how I feel about the job that was done. Giselle (Gisella?) is the one who did them and I specifically warned her before she started on them that one brow bone is higher than the other and to please keep that in mind when waxing. After waxing she said it looks a little off because I have a bald spot in my brows, I’m pretty sure that spot was not there before but whatever. I just felt like she kind of disregarded my warning to her because when I went in my eyebrows were very full and out of control. I do this on purpose so that when I get my brows done the waxer has more to work with. My brows don’t look terrible but I also didn’t walk away like WOW. Probably won’t come back.

The best waxing experience in San Diego! I was so impressed by how personable and efficient everyone has been at Viva Brazil. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The hard wax they use is an absolute must — it definitely makes the experience a little more bearable. The girls are great at holding conversation during the services as to distract from the pain and make the time fly by. They’re extremely thorough! I highly recommend this place to everyone looking for a great wax! (ALSO! they have different happy hour specials, so be on the lookout when booking your next wax!)
