Is Voltero’s really closed? The last review was from 7 days ago. I need to find a cheesesteak like theirs… Help!

The food there is the best in town, slices of pizza are humongous and filling. Even though the owner Marco was condescending and snappy, I won’t let that affect the way I feel about this place because all the employees there are extremely friendly and I’ve n

We had been going to Voltero’s for years. We are so disappointed that they closed up. Wish there was some way to get ahold of them to see if they reopen somewhere with a different name. Now we are stuck with Gaglione Bros. They are good, but SOOO expensive and sandwiches are light on the meat(especially for the price). Where o’ where did our Voltero’s go???

I’m super bummed out that Voltero’s had to close its doors. Moving to Convoy just killed their lunch business. I should have tried harder to keep in contact with the owner. We need a Voltero’s in Temecula ASAP! Thanks for all the great lunch and dinner memories! You will be missed!!!

I don’t know how this is averaging four stars. Something smells with that ranking and it is not just the inside of this place. We were there on a Friday night, not a spot available in the parking lot and we were the only ones in this place. Thirty five empty seats and us. Everyone else was in the Asian Restaurants in the same shopping center-we should have taken the clue. This is a pizza place and they serve no beer or wine. I repeat no beer with your pizza. The pizza dough was not cooked all the way through. Plastic plates and spoons only. I like to support local non-chain places but skip this one.

Please don’t waste your time at any chain pizza restaurant. THISISTHEPLACETOBE. It’s so delicious and the pizza always comes out super hot. They sell pizza by the slice as well. They also have more personal sized pizzas which is totally awesome if you don’t want a huge pizza for yourself. Just go here already, okay?

Another coupon place used off the list. This time it was get $ 7.00 off any pizza. I figured it would be a good deal since their medium 12 inch pizza is $ 8.99 and then extra $ 1.00 for toppings. I also ordered a calzone after reading all the great reviews about it. When I called they told me it would take 15 – 20 minutes. I rushed over after work and nothing was finished. I then waited another 15 – 20 minutes at the store. If you quote someone 15 – 20 minutes it should be done around there. Don’t make me wait double the amount of time. Pizza: Got eggplant and jalapenos. I have to admit they were very skimpy on the toppings and the eggplant was so thinly sliced you couldn’t even tell. Oh well at least the pizza only cost me $ 3.00 after my coupon. Maybe that’s why? Calzone: The crust on the calzone was delicious. Soft and chewy inside but a little crusty on the outside. For $ 7.99 it can feed 1.5 people. My problem with the calzone was the amount of cheese. Maybe I dont like a large amount of cheese but like the pizza there were hardly any sausage or mushrooms and it was just filled with cheese. The marinara sauce it came with was very tasty though. Come back again? Probably not

Really good NY style pizza, this place is a hidden gem. The guys that work here are also really friendly! I’m excited to go back and try a Philly cheesesteak or calzone.

Best pizza. If you don’t live in the area it’s worth the trip.

Tried them for the first time last night. Ordered delivery and it was really good. The guy was here in 30 mins… food was hot and the driver was very polite. We got a large pep/cheese pizza and cheese steak with fries. Being an Italian girl from Philly, I am very picky about my pizza and cheese steaks… so if I had a gripe, I would def bring it to your attention. I personally don’t like bell peppers on my cheese steaks, so I had them hold those… other then that, it reminded me of being back on the east coast. Will be ordering from them again! Looking forward to trying their calzones!

What is there to say about this sweet delicious gem that is found in a shopping center surrounded my Asian/Korean stores. It’s HEAVEN for pizza lovers(who love New York style) It can easily be looked over or skipped. The place doesn’t stand out or look of anything special. but don’t let it deceive you! It’s a very simple pizza place which always seems to be empty when I come by. But they never disappoint. TIPS: — Order by the SLICE. I found out it always taste better by the slice .The whole pizza doesn’t taste as great. They must toast it more by the slice. So do that! And get the great deal of(Giant slice of pizza, salad, and drink for only $ 4.99 + tax) — get the CALZONE to share! It’s HUGE but soooo good! I got it simple(cheese and pepperoni) .and when I took the first bite .I smiled and hummed with every bite! Be warned; expect oil to drip down your hand and arm as you eat it. that’s how you know it’s damn good! And a loooot of cheese… but you can never have too much cheese! Mm. I love cheese. anyways! My boyfriend ate the other half of my calzone(after he ate a giant slice of pizza on his own! .I love his appetite) and when he first took a bite of the calzone he said — «Oh my f*ck that’s good!» .and ate the whole thing. CON: — Crust isn’t good. but that’s just me. Plus I don’t really care too much for it. I’m stuffed anyways by the time I get down to the crust! Note we’ve only tried the simple cheese and pepperoni here. so we can’t speak for the other toppings. but we will. soon. o. o After this meal. you’ll need a nap. I need a nap. I’m gunna go take a nap. goodnight. 1 – 5 scale: Appearance(of pizza place): 4 Appearance(food): 5 Service: 5 Taste: 5 Mouth feel: 10 Overall: 5 Happy eating! ;-*

Went based in good reviews for a fresh pizza place that was local. It was just ok. Seemed like every other pizza that is made — bland, lacks inspiration, and after 1 slice overcoming hunger — you don’t seek out more… With so many places to eat in this area — this does nothing to stand out in the element that counts — good food!

Another Groupon. Another splurge. Seriously, we had to order a lot of sides an extra large pizza to use up the amount. The garlic bread was great, and as good as you can expect from a local, hole-in-the-wall pizza joint: soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Our plate of meatballs then had an interesting spice mix. They were the clear winner over the plate of Italian sausage which nonetheless featured a unique tang. Regarding the pizza, I want to reiterate this is not a designer pizza place, but it still performs quite well. We ordered the meat pizza, of which the thick fluffy crust in particular stood out. On the other hand, the cheese and sauce came off as somewhat bland. But, hey, the price was right. Even without the Groupon. Summary: Not a Pokemon. Just good pizza.

This review is on their pizza and customer service. My boyfriend wanted to order a heart shaped pizza for vday. He called several places and no one would help him out. This place not only made the heart shape pizza but also gave him suggestions. Too bad I only eat cheese. But, that’s awesome how a business goes out of their way to make their customer happy. Pizza was tasty too! Great customer service!

How anyone could ever give less than 5-stars to Voltero’s is beyond my comprehension. I did like the old spot better but only because it was closer to my house and I liked the«dive» atmosphere. The new place is nice though; it has a much more authentic Italian feel, kind of Tuscan. They use the absolute best cheese. The sauce is a great balance of sweet and savory without crossing the deadly garlic line like so many places do. Their crust is excellent too. We actually save the crust and dry it out to make nice dipping sticks for other meals. We also like that they take the time to learn about us. They know when we order it Extra-Cheese/Well-Done that we want a few nearly blackened cheese bubbles and don’t mind some burned crust in order to get the cheese the way we like it. Thanks Team Voltero’s — we missed you but we’re happy you’re back.

Yay for a non-Asian establishment on Convoy! Let’s get down to business: –Garlic bread for $ 1.99 — Good, but nothing special. –Meatball(side) for $ 2.99 — Juicy but overpriced based on their 1″-1.5″ diameter. –Sausage(side) for $ 2.99 — The menu states that you’re supposed to get 2 units, so I was expecting them to be whole, but they came out sliced. Did I get 2 links or just 1? Hmmm… Overall I was impressed with the pizza. The crust reminded me of Pizza Port of Carlsbad. It was soft, chewy, and yet delivered a fantastic crunch. My only complaint is that the toppings didn’t stay on. Once the cheese fell off, 50% of the toppings went with it. Good, but not completely fabulous!

Four of us shared a couple pizzas and salad for dinner in an empty Volteros. Pizzas were tasty, but the big empty room had no atmosphere, and the service from all of the staff that we interacted with was brusque and business-like. I think they were preoccupied with take-out orders, as we had to ask for more paper plates more than once. This isn’t the warm & fuzzy type of staff. My dinner companions insisted on a Medium Hawaiian pizza… my LEAST favorite kind of pizza… but I gotta admit that this one was ok at Volteros. The crust turned out pretty good. We also shared a Large pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms, plus jalapenos & garlic on half. This was tasty, although as with most Large pizzas anywhere, it was hard for them to get the crust just right without having it get soggy in the center. Still, it was a pretty good pizza, and we liked how they got the pepperoni to be crunchy around the edges, yummy. They use real mozzarella, which you can judge by how and stretchy it is… YAY for real mozzarella! Great cheese. There just wasn’t enough atmosphere here for dinner. It felt kinda cold and empty, although the pizza was good. Next time I want Volteros pizza, I’ll probably take it to go, although it’s not the closest pizza restaurant to me. I think they have some meal deals at lunch time, and since it’s in Kearny Mesa, they seem to get more business at lunch time. My first visit to this location was at lunch time.

Arguably the best philly cheesesteaks in all of SD county other then Gaglione Bros. I may edge Gag Bros. out only because they are across the st from me. But outside of location, the price is better at Voltero’s. The chicken, steak and veggie cheesesteaks are all to die for! Toasted bread perfect, meat always perfect and packed full, cheese always metly and gooey, seasonings are purely magical. You never have a bad philly when you come here, ever! Not tried the calzones, pasta or pizza here but from the looks I have seen, its on par with the phillys easy.

We’ve been going to Voltero’s for the Philly cheese steak for years, since the 90’s! They used to be located in Clairemont, in the Target/Home Depot shopping center. They have moved to Convoy street. Great new location with updated décor and seating! The restaurant was clean Plenty of parking Good seating and décor Same good menu Same owners I didn’t visit the restroom this time, we were just picking up dinner for 6 kids and 4 adults. We got a large cheese pizza with pepperoni on half, order of rigatoni in marinara(it needed more sauce), order of garlic bread, and a Philly cheese steak sandwich(which included 2 salads) for $ 30, not bad! We do have a soft spot in our hearts for Voltero’s, and it will always be our favorite Philly cheese steak spot!
