As far as Vons’ goes, this one is pretty run of the mill. It’s a little larger due to the fact that it houses a US Bank, a Starbucks, a Panda Express and has a pharmacy and florist. The bakery and deli are pretty good and this Vons seems to be pretty clean. It’s usually pretty well stocked but tends to get crowded with pretty long line waits. There is usually only 2 – 3 check stands open and they rarely open another one. When you do finally make it through check out, be prepared to wait for the baggers to take FOREVER to pack up your purchases. Also there is usually a sea of sales people, petition signing folks, Girl Scouts, cheerleaders, DARE people and anyone else you can think of outside the door trying to separate you from your money.

Consistently understaffed. It’s a Vons like any other, clean and well stocked. The problem is that there are never enough people on staff. Even though this is a lightly trafficked Vons, the lines stack up at odd hours and it takes forever to check out. There have been times that I’ve honestly considered stealing the $ 5 worth of goods I was trying to purchase because it takes so fucking long to check out.

Place is more of 3.5 stars. It pretty much has everything you expect of a grocery store. Staff are friendly, plenty of items to chose from, it is pretty clean, a lot of parking. The bathrooms are pretty clean and really easy to find. I have been to other grocery stores and there are no bathrooms or they are hidden so far away you need to ask several people where it is as you walked by it. Prices compared to their competitors are reasonable. Their beer and wine selection are pretty good.

This Von’s always has the worst lines. Right now I am standing in a line that is backed up into the freezer aisles and they continue to only have 2 checkouts open. You can’t even see which lines ends where. I will not be returning.

I would give this place 5 stars but I don’t give that unless I leave the place feeling as if I had paid the best prices I could get. And lets face it, NO big commercial market does that. But I do give this one 4 out of 5 because I am treated well here. There are some managers and supervisors that go out of their way to say hello and to ask how I am doing. This is rare in today’s world. So for Kay, Danny and the others I say«attaboy/gal» and will return again and again.

Yes it’s true, the service here… not to good. I came in to buy some dog food and filled up my carry on basket. I put the basket on the band for check out at the express check stand and the guy tell me out loud says«hey, take the dog food out of the basket and set the basket over there». I said«dude, I thought this is a full service grocery store, you want me to bag my own groceries too?» Mind you, he yelled that out while he was attending another customer. He later started talking to the customer but was looking at me, dude is weird. OK so you’re talking to him but your looking at me! I just gave him the stare down until he looked away. He needs to get a hair cut too! I’ll go somewhere else, what is this Food 4 Less???

They make some good Sandwiches here! Susan and Pam are usually behind the counter and now know me as the peppered turkey guy. You can build your own or have one of the signature sando’s they make here. I build my own and let me tell you, after coming here for years and eating probably hundreds of sando’s, I’ve come up with the most delicious one. Peppered turkey and Salami on a chedder roll, with havarti cheese, chipotle mayo, and Lettuce, Tomato, and Onion. Now that’s a sandwich! Sandwiches are 5 bucks and you get one free after 7. Good Deal!
