Wedding Bokeh

«DONT DO IT.» This review is long over due, because everytime I think about Ruben he makes my blood boil, but I knew I had to get it done to hopefully save others from booking him (Bokeh) as their videographer for any special event. I booked Ruben for video only (Thank God I had different and awesome photographers for my wedding). During our meet, he assured me he would be the videographer at my event. Come the day of my wedding, I received a call from a random man named Marcos. He told me that Ruben was stuck in Florida and that he (Marcos) would be my videographer. So unprofessional on Rubens behalf. Clearly this was not how I wanted to start my wedding day, but at that point what could I do. So Marcos showed up, but he did not bring some props that Ruben had agreed to bring. He did his thing and left at who knows what time that night. I spoke with Ruben a few days later and he said it would take a few weeks before he had my reel and footage availble. After a few missed calls, some texts with no response, and two months later, I received my reel and video. I was not pleased with the video. It was all out of order (it went from us getting ready in the hotel, to the ceremony, to back to getting ready, to the reception, to 15 clips of my shoes, etc.) It looked more like a slide show. There were 129 total clips: 1 clip was 23 min. (Ceremony), 112 clips were only seconds long, and the rest were also very short. Ruben had previously told me that as a videographer, he would basically be in the background and follow my photographers everywhere (WRONG). I learned that the videographer missed some very special moments from my wedding. He failed to record us on the horse and carriage immediately after the ceremony; he failed to record the bouquet toss, garter toss, and cake cutting at the reception. When I spoke to Ruben about this, he never once offered an apology. Instead he put the blame on me. He tried to say we were running late and that alot of weddings now a day don’t have bouquet or garter toss. Excuse me!!! 1) Marcos left early without informing anyone he was leaving– this is a fact 2) Ruben and I negotiated a price for an extra hour if it was needed anyway 3) Marcos knew these events were coming up, because he saw the timeline I prepared and still left. I spoke to Ruben about putting my video in order and having it flow and he told me I didnt order a documentry. Ruben is full of lies and excuses! He first told me my package included «raw footage» and said when there are too many clips on the camera it tends to get out of order. I told him my contract says I purchased «edited footage» which was suppose to be organized and color corrected. Then he said, oh yeah we did edited it. When I asked to see the raw footage then, he had the nerve to say… you want me to put it back in Black and White. I told him not to insult my intelligence and not to lie. I just want him to make it right with what’s available to us. I never spoke to him again and I hope you dont either. Best of luck finding a videograoher that you can trust with your special event, but Ruben and Bokeh is not the one. If I could give 0 stars I would.

It was the worst decision that we’ve ever made to book Wedding Bokeh for our wedding. First of all, our wedding ceremony started at 11am. We fulfilled the payment for our booking. Ruben contacted us on our wedding day informing that his flight was delayed. It was very unprofessional that he only tried to get to the location on the same day of the wedding. A professional videographer/​photographer should be ready at the location at least the night before the event– that’s an expectation! You might or might not have other events before ours but you need to have a professional arrangement for your schedule instead of pushing it to the last minute of the event. Ruben did not show up at our wedding. He gave us no communication after the only text message about his delayed flight. When we talk about no communication, it also means NO apology from Ruben himself or the business! We were very upset because it was not just a simple event. It was a WEDDING! Ruben’s attitude showed how much he cares about his business and customer experiences. We contacted Ruben via email. He gave us the delayed flight’s information which did not show his name on there and AGAIN no apology. We were very unfortunate to have this experience. And unfortunately we will have legal notifications sent to this business!

I’m sooo happy I found Wedding Bokeh last minute. I decided DAYS before my wedding, that I would regret not having a videographer. Luckily my wedding was on a Sunday, so they were not booked yet. I talked with Ruben on the phone, and he was very friendly and polite. Ruben was the one who actually came to video our wedding as well. And he was the same in person, very friendly, easy going, and polite. His prices are extremely reasonable. I have not seen any footage from my wedding, as it was only 1 week ago, but all of his videos look amazing on their website. We are so excited to see the video from our wedding and we will update with the video once we get it. Thanks again for everything Ruben!!!

We were on the fence about hiring a videographer, and are so glad to have run across Wedding Bokeh. The crew is amazing, and we absolutely loved our videographer, Marco! It was definitely the right decision. We tried to go without a planner that day, and had only a venue coordinator. Needless to say, I was a wreck but Marco’s professionalism, amicable personality, and communication to keep us on track the entire day through night. I can’t sing high enough praise. When you have a such an enormous event with so many moving parts, it really helps to have vendors who are capable and experienced to help guide you. In our experience communicating and working with Ruben and Marco, the Wedding Bokeh team was always very responsive and dependable. They showed up early and jumped right into the wedding fray, giving great suggestions as necessary. I will continue to recommend them for any events in San Diego, and we can’t wait to see our wedding footage. Nothing beats reliving your special day through image and video. Why we were even debating on hiring a videographer is now a true mystery. It’s a no-​brainer! We really lucked out finding an awesome, local company. A worthwhile investment.

I absolutely loved our videographer, Ruben! He did an amazing job with footage and putting together our same day edit! What put the icing on the cake was Ruben’s drone footage! Myself, husband, and all of our guests couldn’t stop raving about how cool the drone footage was. We are excited to see our wedding highlight video and other footage. Excellent job Ruben, you’ve made us so happy on our special day! This company is amazing and I would definitely recommend to anyone!

So these guys ignored us several times before we actually we able to make an appointment. Then we finally get an appointment, we take photos all around balboa for 2 hours. They said the would have our prints by the end of the week and we could make arrangements to pay.
6 weeks goes by and after our several attempts to get out photos we finally get an email apologize to us and give us our prints for free.
Thank goodness we didn’t pay! Only 3 of the are good out of 15 – 20 pictures. None we edited either. Don’t waste your time on them!

This company may make beautiful videos — but they are AWFUL when it comes to communication & customer service. I wrote them 4 different emails (in 2 different months — so vacation /​out of town can’t possible be an excuse!!!) and 3 out of 4 of them were ignored. Funny how they stopped responding as soon as I said I found them on Groupon and wanted to purchase their deal… C’mon guys — don’t post a Groupon deal if you’re going to run away from or ignore people who want to buy it. Common sense. Also, I’m in the customer service industry and responding /​response time is by far the EASIEST part of your job. I mean, really, how can you mess it up? Well, they somehow pulled it off… They failed miserably. Again, likely because the terrible «Groupon» word was mentioned. HA! Word to the wise: If you want to pay full pop, maybe try using these guys. But don’t even think about contacting them if you were considering using a Groupon! Apparently that turns them off. Wedding Bokeh, you lost a good customer. Shame on you.

Thank you Ruben and Wedding Bokeh for doing such a wonderful job on our wedding video! I love the highlight reel! you captured some really special moments and I am so thankful I got to see them! The whole day was a blur of excitement and I can’t remember it all :) So thank you for doing such a wonderful and thorough job!

Ruben did a fantastic job on our wedding video. His attention to detail and good eye really added a dimension to our video that would have been lacking from another videographer. As a bonus, his price was fantastic, significantly less than other videographers quoted and he delivered us the highlight video (a 7 minute film) in just a couple weeks. Highly recommended.

We used Wedding Bokeh for our wedding on 12.13.14. Ruben is extremely talented and captured ALL the beautiful moments on our highlight reel! If you are looking for a wedding videographer that is professional, dependable and unique… Ruben is «THE MAN»! I can’t even begin to express how thankful we are that he filmed our day! We used Wedding Bokeh for videography for our wedding last weekend (November 15^th), and we could not be happier with the results. Ruben was so wonderful to work with. He met with us ahead of time and we went over details and discussed the contract.
On the day of the wedding he arrived EARLY to the hotel where the bridal party and I were getting ready and interviewed my bridesmaids and me, and got some great footage of us getting ready. Then, he headed over to the church where he interviewed my husband and the groomsmen. He got beautiful footage of the ceremony, including us saying our vows (which makes me cry everytime I watch it). He then went to the reception, where he not only captured the fun everyone was having on the dancefloor, but also all the little details that we put so much time and effort into like the lawn games and the cake table, etc.
Best of all… Ruben sent us our highlight video 3 days after the wedding! I was just beginning to have the post wedding blues, when I received the video and was able to relive the most magical day of my life!
What I appreciated most was the energy Ruben brought. He made us feel like he was genuinely excited to be sharing in our special day. I cannot thank Ruben enough for beautifully capturing this special day in our lives!

Wedding Bokeh did an amazing job on our video. They where very professional on time and fun to work with. I the bride needed lots of direction with all the nerves of the day, they helped make the experience very easy, comfortable, and enjoyable.
I was a bit nervous on how the finish product would turn out knowing how expensive videographers could be but Wedding Bokeh gave us a great deal and meeting with them before our wedding day was worth the time spend, they showed us samples of other videos they shot and asked us to give them a list of important shots we wanted to make sure they included.
We where blown away by the finish product and hight quality, and got the video and pictures back to us in a couple of days. Worth every penny! We will for sure use and refer Wedding Bokeh to all of family and friends. May I add there office is centrally located in Little Italy San Diego that was perfect to go out and have dinner close by after. Thank you Wedding Bokeh

We used Wedding Bokeh to film our wedding. The videographer (Ruben) documented all of the important activities during the ceremony and the reception. We didn’t have to pose or act out scenes. He was like a fly on a wall, which made it very enjoyable to work with him.
Once we received our video (within 7 days), we were so excited because we wanted to relive our wedding day. His attention to detail blew my wife and I away. From the filter he used in our ceremony edit, that took place in a rustic farm in Escondido, to the music selection. The quality of the video was filmed with top of the line HD cameras. It brought our wedding day back to life.
If you are thinking of getting married or are planning a wedding, I highly recommend investing in a videographer. We are glad we did. Wedding Bokeh is a young and fun wedding cinematography company that is soon to be among the best in San Diego.
