Westfield Mission Valley

Great when you’re in need of the basics. It doesn’t have much, but it DOES have Target which is a huge plus for me. The limited selection of stores here have good pricing. But the name brand stores are smaller here with less selections. Love the movie theater.

My usual mall for target, that’s usually the only reason why I come here. As far as the mall, the food court is small, not a big selection. I think that’s the reason why they have a bunch or other sit down restaurants here. Not to crazy about this mall in my opinion.
I forgot to mention that the parking spaces at target are more for smart cars, door dinging galore here. I make it work by parking on the lines so you can get a buffer and avoid door dings.

My review is based on if you are a thick/​fat/​big girl/​bbw (basically, not thin). I love this mall because I am a size ¹⁴⁄₁₆ so most stores shun me away from their establishments (or give me the cold look until I leave). But not here! Here is my safe haven to shop and dare I say (gasp, eat!) as I please. The prices and deals are enough to get a good «hunt» on and work up an appetite. Now I know there’s a lot but get a little, tiny, bit more of those cute clothes you let the skinnies wear for us and I’ll see about giving you that extra star, huh?

My go-​to shopping mall! Lots of store choices, the food court is awesome plus superb restaurants and the movie theater makes it for a one stop shopping, eating and entertainment oasis!

This mall is really outdated and limited compared to its counterpart down the street Fashion Valley Mall. The addition of Yard House recently is moving this place into a better direction. The positives are this mall houses a 24 hour fitness, Target superstore, Nordstrom rack and a AMC theatre. The other stores however decent but not a lot of choices. Nordstrom Rack is the only reason I come here. For everything else I prefer driving down the street to Fashion.

Hard to believe that I haven’t reviewed Westfield Mission Valley yet… but while this Westfield mall is much larger than the other ones I frequent (UTC in particular), it’s not really high on my mall locations. Most of the stores are the same as every other mall I’ve been to, and to be honest, the only times I come here are for the restaurants that aren’t in my usual environs (Buffalo Wild Wings, Ruby’s, Onami, and even Hot Dog on a Stick), the occasional Target visit if I’m in the area, or even the rare movie at the AMC 20.
Granted, the open-​air mall is nice, but with all the petitioners around, the shopping experience can be less than ideal (no, I do not want to sign your petition, Greenpeace/​Save the Children/​etc.)… and don’t even get me started on the parking!

Outdoor style mall with your usual shops, more notably Nordstrom Rack, Macy’s, Bed Bath/​Beyond, and small eateries. As you walk around the area, you may run into the «free speech activity» area. People here try to talk to passerbys and try to get them joined to cause and possibly may scam you out of your hard earned money. Just be wary. Pretending to talk on your phone or speaking in a foreign language (or attempting to) is an easy fix to this obstacle. Other than that, this mall is what you expect in a mall. Nothing exceeded or fell under expectations. Oh yeah, there are 2 giant chess boards for people to play. Maybe the men/​husbands can play each other while the women go shopping.

Ugh! The shopping experience is destroyed because they allow panhandlers begging for money. They are just scammers attempting to play on people’s emotions because they drag their kids into it… who are playing video games. I bet you money that they make more than many who shop there. Just say «no» to them and they will disappear.

Came to Mission Valley mall to just go to Target. This is by far the best and biggest Target ever with two levels. I always end up buying something from the Target in Mission Valley mall.
Mission Valley has become dead. I have to agree with a couple of Elite Unilocalers here. I dread coming here. There are not too many stores I care for here. The only ones I go to are Target and Macy’s. I would rather go to Fashion Valley mall where they have better stores and food court is better. I try to avoid this mall if I could. It has changed.
I noticed that they are adding a Yard House here. Good thing because there’s only one in Downtown and I avoid Downtown because of the parking situation there. It sucks! Anyway, maybe this will attract people to eat here. They really need to face lift Mission Valley. It’s just dead here now.

I never understood why there were two malls in San Diego that were so close to each other like Fashion Valley and Mission Valley. Of the two, Fashion is the nicer one and honestly the one that I frequent more. Mission Valley isn’t horrible but it’s a little more the older side, though I can see them doing renovations here and there. What Mission valley has are the restaurants surrounding it, the happy hour sports bars like Buffalo Wild Wings and Tilted Kilt. There are numerous others as well that aren’t technically part of the mall but are very close. This is their main advantage. The addition of Nordstrom Rack is one of the primary reasons I do visit Mission Valley though.

This mall has gone down hill! I used to like going to this mall but lately it looks like a thug hang out spot. The place looks trashy and is so boring. The thing that really bothered me and the main reason my family and I will not be returning are all the gay signs. I agree with equality, but I don’t agree with a place shoving gay pride to our kids faces. It seems that they are not just out for equality but out for DOMINATION! So disappointed & will not return!

Unilocal 100 challenge 2015 I luv this mal it has 24 hr fitness and my fav store by and company… They also have Macy’s home and target… For food they have o nani, outback, tilted kilt, Buffalo Wild Wings and soon yard house. One stop shop for me

Not so much a mall but disjointed upscale strip markets with really bad traffic. The selections of stores are pretty typical of malls all around So-​Cal, but nothing different or exciting to distinguish it from other malls such as UTC or Horton. The worst part, because there isn’t one main building it is kind of hard to find a specific store for the first time and hard to navigate even with the maps they have all around. At least the neighborhood doesn’t smell or anything right?

It is very boring it needs some pazaaz.
Not a lot to choose from it reminded me more of a strip mall.
This is what I think the mall needs to give it a wow factor.
1. Water features
2. Fire
3. Trees
4. Flowers

I like both Mission Valley and Fashion Valley malls, but prefer one over the other depending on what my plans are. Most of the time I park in the lot near the Target and Outback Steakhouse and rarely if ever have a problem finding parking.
The mall has many of the stores I like or shop at, a decent food court, and a movie theater. It isn’t as crowded as Fashion Valley. Also it seems like less of a teen hangout spot compared to Fashion Valley. The food court isn’t as good as Fashion Valley. It seems as though there is a better variety at Fashion Valley.
There are a lot of vendors with carts that try to sell you their goods. Most of them are polite. One thing I dislike is when sales people are very pushy or try to act slick with their sales pitch. Another thing that kind of bothers me is when people ask you to sign their petition. I’ve experienced this at both malls, but it seems more noticeable at Mission Valley possibly because it is less crowded.
Overall, it has a decent variety of stores, department stores, a food court, restaurants, a large movie theater, and a fair amount of parking.

This little mall is okay but they have a nice amount of parking which is always great. It’s all pretty much outside so if it rains make sure you bring a umbrella. This mall is pretty old and is definitely showing so don’t expect for it to be flawless. The stores are okay but nothing all that special but it’ll work if you need something that’s regular. They don’t have a Godiva but they do have a Macy’s and a Target. The food court isn’t that great and I think it kind of sucks. It’s definitely not the size of Fashion Valley and the stores aren’t as nice but the prices here are very reasonable. There is also a small dog park which is pretty cool to have at a mall.

I only came here for one store… Windsor. But Windsor is gone :(they’re now building a Yardhouse.
Now I have no business coming to this mall. They don’t have that many store selections for females.
They only great thing about this mall is it’s an outdoor mall. It’s kind of old they need to remodel or do some type of upgrade… Starting to remind me of the Chula Vista mall, but that mall has gotten better.
The only reason I would come here now is the AMC theaters or bed bath and beyond and maybe target too.
I think this mall is a little ghetto… The last couple times I’ve been here… There was a fight and a shooting on the lot (saw on the news).

Mission valley has a nice location and plentiful parking. It’s an outdoors mall which really gives you an idea of how invested we are on this whole good weather thing we got going on. They house many of my favorite stores (except forever 21 :/​)
They have a vs, ae, vans store, hot topic, target, amc, sprint store, Nordstrom rack, bed bath and beyond… Good stuff!
If you’re coming here just be mindful of where you park, the underground parking is a tight fit and It floods on the one day we get rain. Also there has been many incidents that have happened on their regular parking lot to stay safe.

I’ve been going to this mall for over at least 10 years.
And trust me, it has improved ALOT over the years. This place used to not even have a food court at all ! And now they have a mini ice skating rink and other activities for people and kids of all ages during different holidays/​seasons.

Favorite Food: Great Khan’s !! Why? Because there are not many mongolian noodle places in San Diego and there’s has always been the best even though its mall food court food.
Overall, great place for shopping for all genders and ages!
&Plenty of parking spaces everywhere!

Run-​down open-​air mall situated on top of a parking garage– convenient but unorganized with extra-​small spaces and idiot California drivers making the initial impression pretty negative.
Store selection is mostly lower-​tier with teen specialty shops like Hot Topic, Charlotte Russe, and the Icing, but there are a handful of nicer boutiques, jewelry stores, and a Frederick’s of Hollywood. Your key players are there too: Lane Bryant, Aeropostale, and Victoria’s Secret. Throw in a weird tattoo shop for good measure.
On the bright side, security was visible throughout our visit and despite the lack of appealing stores, there were quite a few older adults lounging about on the courtyard furniture and playing on the life-​size chess board.
The movie theater is about the only business you’ll spend more than 10 minutes in, and frankly I can’t understand why Target is associating itself with such a run-​down shopping center.
