Misleading, False Advertising– I was told if I took the (GRULING 2 ½ hour tour) they said 90 minutes — one LIE, I would be able to get a 2 night stay at any Wyndham Property! Come to find out the ONLY choices are
Oceanside
Napa
San Francisco
Anaheim!
I wanted to stay in Palm Springs there are several Wyndham properties in that area but they said no! I wouldn’t buy a timeshare from this company because they kept me there so long so I was deceived. After 2 hours I said I needed to go and the man said then if you are in a rush to leave lets RESCHEDULE, which meant I would leave empty handed and would have to do it all over again! I stayed — then left with gifts that were not even what I was told.
This is a racket these people are snakes!

Where to begin… ZERO stars
We had the pleasure of being guests of a timeshare owner for the weekend after New Year’s Day. After checking in at the lobby, we get our room keys and start walking towards the elevators. BUT WAIT! You need to get your parking passes from another desk. That’s where the horrible mess begins:
The «concierge desk»
They try to scam you into attending one of the company’s «demonstrations» and they tell you how much they offer you for your time. $ 100 for each of us (3 total) for 90 minutes of our time. Great! They serve breakfast! Even better! After filling out forms… Very intrusive ones now that I look back. Example questions include: Salary, hobbies, WHAT KIND OF CREDIT CARDS WE USE… really? That’s when I decided to pull back and put my guard up. I can’t believe I almost fell for this. When I stated I wasn’t comfortable with this anymore they threw in an additional $ 50 meal credit. Hmm. I hesitate to stay but I feel so uncomfortable leaving as well. How did they do that to me? So they input our information into the system. BUT WAIT! It seems like my boyfriends address doesn’t qualify for the «promotional» offer of the $ 100 gift card. So they withdrew his $ 100 gift card but were kind enough to give him the $ 50 meal credit and sign him up for email offers. Nope. When I kept asking about the zoning restrictions & why they need our income and various other questions he asks «wait what do you do for a living??» When I asked why that’s relevant he says it’s because I’m asking so many questions. They then have the nerve to ask to hold credit card info for each of us. As a guarantee we won’t flake. They withdraw $ 20 but they promise to refund the money after the presentation? Excuse me? That’s when I said HELL NO and got out of there. They made it so hard to just say no and walk away. Mind you this is not even the presentation and it took us almost an hour from the minute we stepped in to the lobby to the minute we entered our rooms. We just want to get in our rooms and relax! We walk away and I feel like an idiot for even staying that long. After reading other reviews on here and so glad I left.
My advice: just say no thank you and walk away as fast as you can. They try to get you to stay and chat by asking you personal questions and trying to act like your friend and try to help you in any way they can. They are trying to sell something not just help you with reservations. Please don’t fall for it. The next time I ever stay in one of these types of resorts I’m going to just pretend I don’t speak English and walk away.
The Room & our stay:
The heater broke. It was so cold our first night so we turned on the heater. It would stay on for 10 minutes then totally shut off. After calling the front desk to let them know, they sent up a technician, who turned the heaters back on but they immediately turned off. The power went out on some parts of our room along with our own heater. He said don’t turn on the heater because the power will go out. So what are we supposed to do? The hotels solution to our power outage? They sent us two blankets and 1 small space heater. Yay. We woke up and it was FREEZING. Our space heater shut off in the middle of the night.
The next morning, while our useless space heater is back on we call the front desk to let them know and ask them to fix it or send us to another room. My boyfriend then uses the little blow dryer the hotel provides in the bathroom. BIG MISTAKE. Some of our power goes out again! Half the hotel room is literally in the dark at this point. So we call the front desk again. They send a technician who says they need to do major work, he then asks why we used the blow dryer… really? So they gave us a new room. But why not just give us a room the night before when the heaters went out and we were FREEZING?
My advice: if your power goes out or heaters don’t work, just demand a new room. Don’t just accept the blankets and tiny space heater like we did.
Our new room was awesome. We quickly realized we were living in our previous room with a nasty smell! Yuck.
Don’t stay here by choice, and if you stay here as a gift… avoid the scam artists at the lobby at all costs!!!

Don’t waste your time if you simply want the gift… what a bunch of BS they said 90 minutes it was more like 2 1 – 2 hours the guy was such a snake saying it’s not like either timeshare type presentations he said that he has a authority to make all the decisions I won’t have to see other people after him
after spending all that time with him I had to speak to two other people 2 ½ hours later they give me a certificate that was promised that I could stay at any Wyndham property where I pay for it and get $ 100
such a joke they’re telling me when I called to make a reservation about properties like Motel 6 ! from the moment they sign you up to the time you leave everything is just a bunch of BS I would never stay in a motel 6!
I wanted to stay in Las Vegas and they don’t even have anything in the Las Vegas area for a Wyndham property I guess the joke is on the public
I sincerely was interested in listening to possibly investing in a timeshare certainly not with this company when the time comes

Let me start by saying i am a timeshare owner for 8yrs now and have never experienced something like this before. We stayed at this particular location for this first time. this have nothing to do with the rooms or location. But Saturday October 3^rd 2016 we checked in and at 12:30am exactly Oct 4^th the fire alarms went off and we had to evacuate. I had my 2 small children with me and my elderly parents. you can smell smoke and that something was burning/​food maybe a floor below us we were on the 4^th floor. The Fire dept did arrive as the entire hotel were outside in the driveway area for approximately 45mins to 1hr… NO ONE NO ONE!!! from the HOTEL came out to say anything check on anyone or to let anyone know it was clear to go back… 80% of the guest went back up!!! without getting clearance. The person that gave clearance was a GUEST and the hotel security guard was behind him.
whether or not it was a false alarm or nothing serious SOMEONE FROM THIS FACILITY SHOULD HAVE CAME OUT TO ADDRESS THEIR GUEST/​TIMESHARE OWNERS!!!
I am very upset at the fact that their was such negligence at this location…

We just came home from a wonderful stay here in Mission Vally Worldmark. I was using Unilocal to find directions to our Worldmark property, and when the reviews came up, honestly, I started to get nervous. My family of four was super excited to be going on vacation, and as a Worldmark owner, we where taking advantage of our time share. We have stayed in many of Worldmark’s properties across the nation, and have learned to expect a certain level of service, and comfort. I have a hard time believing that some of the folks reviewing this property even stayed there! It was great! We had a 2 bedroom with a King in the master. Two bathrooms 3 TVs. Everything was very clean. We never once saw a cockroach, (even with two messy little boys) our kitchen was super clean, and had everything we needed to make quick meals. The location was super convenient! Close to all the things we came to do (by freeway, we rented a car) this resort also has free parking. (one pass is all you need to hang in your car for the week.) Only a few minutes drive to the zoo or sea world.
The staff here is super nice. We only needed to tell them once we did not want to buy more time. After a long day of play my 11year old son went to get a movie from guest services and they gave him a bag of microwave popcorn for free because it was family movie night. He felt pretty special. The construction across the way is happening, and it is a bunch of noise in the morning, but we did not come to San Diego to sleep in. No big deal. By the time we got back to the resort each evening, the work for the day was done.
I am planning to come here again. On Monday when the reservation office is open for owners, I will be booking a trip for next year. No way 1week was long enough to see all of San Diego!

This place has bed bugs! bed bugs!!! My family and I were bit all over!!!
Do not stay here. We had to throw away all our belongings, get our car heat treated, and our vacation was 100% ruined.
The entire hotel has has problems with bed bugs yet the manager/​supervisor did not even inform us about anything! It was awful!

3.5 stars. decent resort. we came at a bad time because there is construction across the street. we woke up to noisy drilling which was fine because we didn’t have to set the alarm clock lol.
the units are smaller than some of the other ones we’ve stayed at. we got a 2 bedroom and it was perfect for our little family of 4. my major complaint was the lack of toiletries. no toothpaste!!! so make sure to bring your own, or you’ll end up spending 1.50 $ for a travel size :/​
the location is great. right next to all the major freeways. fashion valley and mission valley mall are literally down the street.

The place is clean and I can’t say that I have any complaints. It worked perfect for 4 adults and 2 young kids. It was great having 2 bathrooms and the full kitchen. We had several stores at short distance and the freeway was easy to get to. We are not a high maintenance family. We also don’t look to spend time in the facility, so I can’t rate the pool or other recreational areas.
Only thing I don’t get: Why do we have to pay for WiFi? This shouldn’t be an issue in 2015.
Be aware: if you are asked to go to a presentation, they will push the product hard. We lost 3 hours of our last day.

We found out why this world mark was much easier to book than the other San Diego locations. The rooms are small, there is no washer or dryer, our room looked out to a construction site, and most annoying was there is only one way to get out, and the light takes FOREVER, if you’re leaving during commute time at night be ready to wait like 20 minutes to get to the freeway. It is close to a lot of attractions but the pool is small, there’s no lawn, and I just feel like over all it’s my least favorite world mark visit of all the locations I’ve tried. That said we still had a good time, just want to warn other owners!

Being a WorldMark Owner since the late 1990’s I know what to expect. San Diego Mission Valley falls short in so many ways. First off upon check in the staff at the «car parking permit check in» otherwise known as the upsell desk are the rudest in the chain. They just do not take NO for an answer. Outward friendly until you tell them you do not need an update (think trying to get you to buy new points), they turn downright Bulldog trying to intimidate you into booking a time slot.
Later we arrived back from dinner to find a note in our door asking us to come back to the desk to get a new permit and when we said our permit was just fine they fired back with us not booking an update time slot and that we NEEDED to do this. Believe me, we do not need to do this.
MOST IMPORTANT: There are NO washer and dryers in the units, just on floors 2 – 4, none on floor 1. You have to haul your laundry into the elevator and up to one of the other floors. Only 4 washers and 4 dryers per floor including the people who need it on the first floor. PLENTY of room for one in our unit in the too large closet that holds a broom and vacuum.
Second, our unit. First off and the most important is that the unit is filled with cockroaches! We did not find this out until the next morning when we left half a scone on the kitchen counter top in the morning. 20 minutes later we found the scone COVERED with cockroaches plus more in the sink.
We called down to the front desk and maintenance came up with «traps» and he put them everywhere including behind the refrigerator. The next morning I went into the kitchen/​living room and turned on the light and watched 3 scamper on the carpet heading out to the «deck». We walk around with shoes on today and cannot wait to check out tomorrow.
The carpet is torn and ragged on the edge going into the bathroom. Not just torn but ragged with string at least 4 inches long (enough to trip on) just on the end. Housekeeping should have found it, maintenance should have repaired this. When pointed out to maintenance the man said that yes many units were like this.
Bed is comfortable, carpet in living room just off the kitchen is dirty. Furnishings are mimimul and at a Comfort Inn level. The dining room table is in the kitchen which is open to the living room in our 1 bedroom. There is no plug in for any kind of laptop in the dining room area so we had to set up on the coffee table in the living room which is not acceptable.
Lousy television cable in the living room, no high def, not a lot of stations. Our bedroom is much better with more stations and high definition. When we called to the front desk to find out how we get the living room television to be the same we were told that we should not have the good cable in the bedroom and would «fix» that for us. How rude!
No television station guide either on the television stations nor in the WorldMark book that is standard (and below par) in this resort. How hard could it be to make a copy of the stations that are broadcast by channel numbers, laminate it and insert it in the books?
The crew serving breakfast on Saturday were extremely rude both during the serving and during the clean up. Many guests were complaining in the elevator later that day when we went down to the parking garage. The elevators to the parking garage are filthy.
It is easy to get to the San Diego vacation places like Balboa Park, the Zoo and the waterfront but only ONLY because we have GPS on our phones. The desks are unable to answer basic questions like how to get to these places on the freeways from here with any knowledge. (Hint, while it seems difficult, in reality it is easy if you have another watching the signs and remember to stay to the right as you go from I8 to 163 to your exit very very fast). The management here should train their staff better in knowledge.
Overall, stay away from this place! Management does not care about how their employees talk to the guests (rude each time to myself and others), they do not care about any upgrades in quality of furnishings and cleanliness. Roaches were complained about years ago in this complex on other sites like Trip Advisor and WorldMark Forum and yet years later they still have not been fixed.
I would be ashamed to have anyone new to the WorldMark idea come into this place.

The staff seemed to be really nice. BUT THAT’S IT.
The room was okay, seemed clean, had a stale odor in it upon arrival though. They leave you with one roll of toilet paper, and one bar of soap, that’s it. They offer wifi, but only in packaged deals. $ 5 a day, and up. For the price of the room, you’d think wifi would be included, even McDonald’s offers free wifi!
I understand San Diego is in a drought, but we were completely unable to use the pool. Any and everything on the property that’s supposed to contain water, was bone dry. Talk about appealing! The pool was completely empty and dirty, and so was the fountain at the entrance.
Woke up to the sound of construction and jackhammering from the unit above us, first thing in the morning. Wasn’t even able to sleep in, but it definitely had me awake before check-​out time at 11am.
Was my first stay there, and will probably be my last.

This was the worst accommodations ever. I found a roach in the room on our second night there. My four children and I were moved to another room during the middle of the night. I told Bianca in Guest Services that I found roach traps all through the unit and she said that they were being «proactive» because of the construction and demolition of Mexican restaurant. Why not let me know? I was misled. This ruined our whole trip. My kids insisted on sleeping with all the lights on so that no roaches would be crawling around. We packed all of our things and kept it piled on the tiny kitchen table. In our mad dash from one room to another we forgot food in the refrigerator and some of my 3 year olds toys and books which were missing the next day.
I just saw another review on Travel Advisor from today or yesterday indicating that roaches were found. Unless you can get full confirmation that there are not any roaches stick to a Super 8 motel. We didn’t have roaches the last time I stayed there.
I have stayed at several WorldMark resorts and this was the worst. All I received was one night of credits refunded in addition to two free movie rentals (one that was not even used) and a refunded housekeeping token because my unit was not ready when I arrived and my 15 year-​old daughter with Down Syndrome was throwing up in the parking lot. I don’t have a lot of points and don’t make a whole lot of money and this vacation was supposed to be wonderful for my family and I.

We’ve stayed here a couple times now, and plan on staying here in the future!
The rooms are clean and perfect. The facilities (game room and pool area) are clean and well maintained. The front desk is always polite and helpful. We’ve partaked in the breakfast and sundae get togethers, and both yummy and you can’t best the price!!!
I wish there was an in room laundry, but the community ones are on each floor and aren’t far from the rooms.
We’ve had especially great service at this facility, 1^st time: I forgot our pack and play, the facility had one for us to use and even set it up for us. 2^nd time: we made it down to San Diego early and requested an early check in, when we called originally there were not any rooms available, but about 45 mins later they called us and told us they had a room ready for us!

My girlfriend invited me to this resort and I wasn’t very impressed. First, it’s in the middle of no where. The only restaurant walking distance is Benihana and a coffee shop about a block away. There is a huge shopping plaza about a mile away, and walkable if you must.
The resort was just ok. Our room was 312, located on the 3^rd floor. No real view and located near the recycle bin area, so gnats kept flying into our room. My Gf called the front desk, hoping they’d relocate us. Instead, they gave us a flyswatter! The gnats were smaller than the swatter holes, therefore useless. The staff never addressed the gnat problem, and I found that poor customer service.
The only toiletry item we got was 1 bar of soap per bathroom. No shampoo.
Location-​wise, this place is about 15 – 20 minutes to the San Diego attractions. It was about 16 minutes to Little Italy, and about the same to Qualcomm.

We purchased this timeshare about 6 – 7 years ago and we frequently take advantage of our investment. We’ve been to San Francisco, Napa, Anaheim, etc etc… The San Diego resort needs to be remodeled but more importantly the heating and air units need to be replaced. The windows need to be resealed and the pool refitted with a new water heater. The spa was extremely hot and the BBQ grills ran out of propane. I don’t mean to sound like this but the resort is just not to standard… Will I come back. Mostly likely not. I loved San Diego though and next time, I pay for a Hotel.

This is the last Worldmark I think I stayed at as an actual owner. I would have to say, it’s probably one of the nicer ones I stayed at even if the location is a little out of the way for my tastes. Yes, there is the light rail option to get into the heart of San Diego, but the WM isn’t really near the station so it’s quite a hike to get there.
We had bikes from Bike Revolution (
) to help us out for a few days to make it a little easier, but I definitely recommend renting a car if staying at this location.
The unit — 2 bedrooms — was plenty big for our needs. We had my in-​laws staying with us one night so it was nice for them to be able to have their own room. Very clean unit with the expected linens. Don’t mind the shared laundry area, just wish they didn’t charge to use them. I didn’t have to use them myself this time, but that would be a nice ‘perk’.
Would I stay here again? Probably. If I didn’t want to be in the hustle & bustle of downtown SD, this place would definitely be on my list.

We are Worldmark Owners and have never been disappointed with any of our stays at one of their resorts. Worldmark Mission Valley is centrally located and easily accessible from the highway. It is a timeshare and, yes, they ask you to attend an «owner update» and offer a gift for your time, but we know going in it’s a sales pitch. We are given information about new resorts and how to utilize our ownership to it’s full potential but always decline to buy more. This resort and their sales team were by far the nicest and most understanding about our reasons for not buying more. If we do buy more time in the future, we’d buy from this location and Shelby.

Minus one star for a crew being here ripping out and replacing carpets in the hall, and us not knowing about it so we were stuck inside our rooms for a couple hours.
Super nice place, two bedroom suite was very nice and had lots of space.
The «heated» pool was a relative term. It was «heated» in that it wasn’t freezing in February, but it was too cold to enjoy

We’ve stayed here 3 – 4 times now and really enjoy it! Granted we don’t have kids, and don’t usually spend much time hanging out at the resort, so our priorities may be a bit different than others.
They only have 2 bedroom condos, so keep that in mind. The building was converted from an old hotel I think so there are not some of the amenities you may be used to at other resorts (i.e. the pool and outdoor areas are pretty small and the laundry facilities are shared) Also, the rooms are overall just smaller than usual and there is not much of a view anywhere.
Here’s the good news, I think the location is great, everything in the city is very accessible (within 10 – 15 min drive). When we visit San Diego there is just way too much fun stuff to do, so the lack of size and amenities is not that big a deal for us, because we basically just use the room to sleep and shower. And the staff has always been very helpful in deciding where to go and what to do.
Now, I’m gonna say it again (if you’ve seen my other Worldmark reviews you’ll know what I’m talking about…) Dear Worldmark… PUT SOME FRIGGIN’ CURTAINS ON THE BEDROOM WINDOWS AND DON’T HANG THE SHOWER CURTAINS INSIDE THE SHOWER!!! This is a problem at every single Worldmark I have ever stayed at!

This was our first time in this location. Everything was nice and furnished WorldMark style but the room we got was a bit smaller and cost more points to use. There is no washer/​dryer for us to use but all the other amenities were available. The location was easy to find and easy access to the freeway. Right next to Benihana and other food places. The only thing I didn’t like was the pool area. I was spoiled from the South Las Vegas Blvd location where they had palm trees and a lazy pool. It was a nice stay overall.
