If I could give a no star review I would. We ordered my nieces dress 2 weeks in advance, they told us they would have it by a Tuesday and when we went it still hasn’t arrived. We went back Wednesday and they had the totally wrong dress and totally different color. My nieces prom was Thursday so what could we find in less that 42 hours. The lady gave us attitude and all she said was that she could give us our money back.

Went everywhere searching for a simple but pretty wedding dress that was baby bump friendly(and under $ 200) Found an ok one at Davids Bridal but they weren’t for sure about having my size available in time, so I continued my search. After going to shop after shop with no luck I came across a review on Unilocal for Romance Bridal. It mentioned that San Fernando Road was the place to go for special occasion dresses. I just had to check it out. I walked up and down the street going into shop after shop. Many of them didn’t sell anything near what I was looking for or only offered dresses from catalouges. Many of the dresses were over priced or low quality. Cheap material and plastic rhinestones all for nearly the cost of the higher quality dresses I’d seen at David’s. As I walked back to my car I came across Romance Bridal. The same store I had read the review for. I walked in and was immediately greeted and the woman got to work right away trying to find me a dress. There was only few in the style I wanted but, they were all I needed. Unlike the other stores it had a better dressing room and Silvia helped me into the dress. I liked the first one I tried on but, with the fit I wasn’t sold. She got to pulling and pinning me and assuring me that alteration was free. I took a look in the mirror and was completely impressed. I bought it! I go back a week before my wedding next month for my fitting since I’m growing and all :) Thanks Silvia!

I needed a big ridiculous prom dress to be prom queen for my birthday party(don’t ask). The problems? Well, first of all, it was July. Not exactly prom season. Secondly, I needed this dress by Saturday and it was Tuesday. Thirdly, I’m a size 20. Not your typical prom dress needing size. I’d looked in several stores and online and didn’t find anything NEAR what I was looking for. Then a friend of mine told me about San Fernando Road in San Fernando. She said it is a quinceanera heaven. So I piled into the car with a couple of good friends and we all went over there to look for dresses we could rock for prom. The very first store we happened into was Romance Bridal. It was actually one of the smaller stores on the street, but it was near where we found a parking spot. We walked in and were instantly greeted and assisted by two lovely women. They showed us their selection in the store(which weren’t my size, but some were quite close) and showed us a large selection of catalogues. My best friend found a dress she loved in a catalogue in the first 10 minutes. I saw some dresses I loved, but, of course, they were not big enough for me. I told them my budget, and they said they could work with me. Since I didn’t find exactly what I wanted, I just decided to walk down the street to see if I could find it in one of the MANY other stores boasting a variety of dresses. I walked north and literally went through every single bridal/quinceanera store on that street. Some looked dubiously at my body and said they couldn’t help, some balked at the fact that I needed it so soon, and one store straight up IGNORED my ass twice! I went in and looked around on the way toward JCPenny(which was hilariously 1950s, by the way… magic!), and I sat there with my two friends looking through catalogues for a half hour on the way back toward my car… not a single glance my way! The woman working there was helping someone and didn’t pay any attention to anyone else. Lame. So I finally ended up going back to Romance Bridal. I didn’t know what else to do! I needed a dress! They just said, why didn’t I try on one of the dresses that was close to my size? I ended up trying one on that was lovely and 3 sizes too small. One of the women laced the back up part way so we could get a sense of it. This thing was OUTSTANDING. It was beaded and puffy and gorgeous. I went out to show my friends, and my best friend cried. It was pretty clear this would have to be the dress. But how is it going to fit me? One of the seamstresses came up from the back room. She was going to let out every seam. Holy cow! Then I found the dress I was wearing in the book. It was $ 650! I didn’t have that kind of money. My absolute top range was $ 550.(And that was including $ 25 from each of my friends that were there!) The woman looked at me and said, «We will work with your budget.» And that was it. They did ALL the alterations(beautifully) and made the whole thing fit my budget. It was amazing! AND my best friend’s dress from the catalogue came in the very next day! They altered it too! So we both got exactly what we wanted. And the women were SOOOOO nice and helpful. I am going to tell everyone I know to go there for any formal stuff they need. I would recommend more lead time for those amazing ball gowns. If you are doing something way over the top, you can order these breathtaking dresses, but they need 3 months lead time to get them. Otherwise, there are LOTS of choices in their catalogues that can be ordered within a week. Plus they have several options in stock! I can’t recommend these guys enough!
