This is probably one of the best supplement stores in the Bay Area. Very knowledgable staff that carries a lot of products that are really hard to find and can answer your questions and find you something that best suits your needs.

Awesome fitness/​health store for beginners and experts, alike. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable (particular shout to John!) and consistently offering great suggestions, workout ideas, and product samples. Two thumbs up and thanks!

Haven’t written in a while but I’ve been a customer all of these years so figured I should write a few more words.
Best prices, incredible knowledge from real athletes. I learn a lot about training and supplements from BIG JOHN and Todd has always been a very knowledgable professional.

While the internet is loaded with deals on supplements, I prefer taking the extra time to visit Active Nutrition for my supplements. As usual, I found John’s customer service well beyond what would be expected from a representative of any store; honest, helpful, and knowledgeable. These are qualities that one won’t necessarily find online, and reason I always buy supps from Active!

Props to owner Todd for setting up such a fine establishment here in SF. The service is superb and prices can’t be beat. They price based off Amazon prices, so their products are always a bargain.
Also, quest bars are ridonkulously cheap PLUS they let you mix and match flavors. I just wanted to highlight this fact.

Active Nutrition is my go-​to for protein powder and helpful service in choosing new supplements. Their prices are competitive, and the staff is always amazing. They are genuine, kind, knowledgable and helpful. The BEST in the city for sure.

Love this place! The staff is always super friendly and very helpful. Love to support my local shops and is in my neighborhood. Hours are great too for people who have a busy schedules If I ever have questions about fitness products/​formulas, this is the first place I think of.
Another favorite thing I love about this place is that they are very competitive with pricing. Won’t name other brands, but Active Nutrition SF is a great place to buy quality products without breaking the bank. They also have a point system, which helps when you reach $ 100. You can save the coupon up or use on your next transaction.

Great customer service and well knowledgeable staff on hand ready to assist you in whatever fitness goes you are striving for and la plus they have samples everyone should go to the supplements store.
You don’t get this type of customer service in your other supplements stores.

Get your act together! I’ve been here on multiple occasions and have to wait outside because staff was either late to work or just not ready… your customers have things to do as well and waiting to spend their money on something inside isn’t one that’s ever a priority!

I am SO glad I found out about Active randomly a few months ago. Amazing prices and selection, and the staff (well, I’ve mostly interacted with the same person in my many trips here) are super friendly! I get the mix and match quest bar boxes and their prices are better than online/​anywhere else I’ve seen. If you’re into fitness or just need supplements/​advice about supplements of any kind, do yourself a favor and come here.

I absolutely love this store. Carter is my favorite sales guy because he knows his supplements in and out. So thanks, Carter! I get many of my BCAAs, protein, preworkout, post workout, detox supps, etc. And also the prices are reasonable and way better than Max Muscle. Yup, I said it. Now bite me.

I’ve got to sing the praises of Active Nutrition. Todd, the owner, is a real class act. This guy has helped me three different times and has given me excellent advice on my journey to a healthier life. As someone who doesn’t know much about body building or nutrition, he always takes the time to answer my questions and help me with supplements that don’t break the bank. I can’t recommend this place enough. I’ll be a customer for life.

Active Nutrition is everything a supplement store should be. They have ALWAYS been honest with me about what’s good and whats garbage and they’ve never been wrong once. They know their stuff which is more than I can say for so many other stores who tell their employees to push their stores brand regardless of the quality of it. Active nutrition has never pressured me to buy anything. I can’t stand it when I walk into an establishment and before I have a chance to take a breath or think about why I came some under-​qualified, over caffinated ‘team-​player’ is in my face with «can I help you with something buddy?» and all I want to say is «yes, you can start by getting yourself a tic-​tac and leaving me alone. I could go on and on about their integrity and knowledge but I’ll stop here.
Go pay them a visit. You will be glad you did.

I don’t know a ton about nutritional supplements and typically just go in here to grab a protein shake after a workout, but my lord these guys are super friendly and excited to see you. Love going in here after my workouts.

I was previously a little suspicious of nutrition and supplement stores, having had prior bad experiences. So even though this place came highly recommended by someone I trust, I was cautious about trying it out. But a trip there confirmed that this business is a real find. I’ve been back two more times since then and each visit has been its own positive experience. I’ve now talked with three different gentlemen who were all very knowledgeable and helpful and kind.
Here are a few things I like about Active Nutrition:
— Very reasonable prices — you can buy protein powder in very large jars for a real discount and their vitamins are far below what I’ve seen at other local stores
— They have these great women’s vitamins that are coated with peppermint oil so you can actually get them down without choking on them (a big plus for me — I think this will motivate me to take my vitamins more often!)
— Very very smart and knowledgeable staff — everyone patiently answered my many questions, which I appreciate and you won’t get a phony, sing-​song sales pitch from these guys. They seem to genuinely care about the well-​being of their customers.
— Finally, they have this great system wherein loyalty begets loyalty — shoppers are given ‘points’ for their purchases and the more you buy over time, the more you save. I think this is a lovely way of acknowledging and rewarding repeat customers — and probably a really smart business move for them.
But even without that, they’d have my business anyway because they are just honest and genuine and seem to care. Every piece of advice they’ve given me has been spot on and I am feeling much healthier after following their direction. I’m grateful to have been steered their way and I bet you will be too…

I am obsessed with this place. They sell $ 2 quest bars which is good for when I’ve forgotten to prep my meals for the day or just need a break from the monotony of eating the same vegetables and protein day in and day out (god I hope my coach doesn’t read this). The selection of supplements and protein powder is good, the prices are AWESOME, and the people who work here are friendly and knowledgeable — and looks the part. Bonus for Todd being the only person who appreciates some of my dog’s more awkward traits.

Hands down best supplement store in SF. I work at Fitness SF and this is the only place I refer anyone to when it comes to supplements and sports nutrition. The staff is very knowledgeable and they have excellent customer service and prices!
