History

Established in 1990.

The Lotus Center was founded in 1996 as an acupuncture and healing collective. We have been at the same location for nearly 20 years. Carol Francois is one of the acupuncturists at the Lotus Center and has been studying Chinese Medicine and Holistic Health for more than 30 years. She has been licensed to practice Chinese Medicine since 1990.

Business Owner

Carol Francois, L.Ac. is a Licensed Acupuncturist who has studied Chinese Medicine and Holistic Health since 1980. As an acupuncturist she has worked extensively with inmates in the San Francisco County Jail system as well as in outpatient substance abuse programs and HIV clinics. She currently serves as the Executive Director of Acupuncture and Recovery Treatment Services (ARTS), a local non-​profit agency that contracts with other community based organizations to provide acupuncture services at their clinic sites.

In 2010 Carol co-​authored and published the book, The Adventures of Sasha and Malia at the White House, which in 2011 was chosen by the San Francisco School Board to be the featured book for Black History month in the S.F. public school system.

Carol is an avid photographer and videographer and has filmed a number of video projects for both the public and private sectors.
