We are an independent designer custom order boutique specialized in beautiful handmade clothes and handmade jewelry.

We offer 80% of our designs made to order and 20% ready to wear, off the rack. Together, all the designs are 100% unique pieces designed to last and we stand for quality over quantity.

We display the pieces in our collection as samples, just like in a showroom. Once we receive an order, we cut and sew right at the boutique, according to each clients requirements.

All our fabrics are sourced locally and enhanced with African prints appliqués, beads, chains or fine embroideries. We sometimes dye the fabrics ourself to get the specific color we are looking for. We strongly believe in a 0 waste fashion and think it’s pretty awesome to know who made your clothes.

The boutique/​showroom transforms into a studio so you can meet the makers! Aline Dazogbo herself, designer and owner work with her seamstress Olga to produce a sustainable handmade piece, made to your measurements.

The pieces off the rack are limited quantity on each garments, if not one size/​item only. «If it fits you, then it’s really for you» says Aline with a typical Parisian accent…

The accessories and jewelry are truly treasures that will bring out instant wanderlust. Handmade right from the store or handpicked by Aline from all around the world, they all tell a story. The goal is to mix and match in order to reveal the perfect romantic-​effortlesslychic-​bohemian in you.

History

Established in 2010.

Designer Aline Dazogbo visited San Francisco several times starting in 2004 from Paris, where she was still at that time a fashion design and pattern making student at Esmod Paris.

Flying with the wind that naturally leads her in 2009 to San Francisco, she opened her first store — Aline’s Closet — in June 2010.

Business Owner

Aline Dazogbo was born in Cotonou Benin and raised in between France and west Africa. She graduated from Esmod Paris in 2005. The versatility of her unique designs opened to her many doors not only into the fashion industry but also into stages, film and opera.

She started working on opening a whole closet to the world at the early age of ten years old. Today she’s still mixing styles inspired by glamour and chic she witnessed in Paris, Rio, London, Sydney, Montréal, Cotonou, New york, San Francisco or Caye Caulker…

Aline’s Closet suggests a modern and multicultural collection of one-​of-​a-​kind clothes and jewelry.

Fashion like Art is for her, an essential part of self-​expression.

Aline’s Closet embraces the expertise of haute couture design and craftsmanship and claims the freedom of the bohemian spirit. The spirit and the importance of the individual-​matching it with the well traveled, natural and ecofriendly materials.
