Established in 1999.

Kevin Manning is the founder of Alive Events & Entertainment and an accomplished DJ with an event portfolio spanning Asia, Europe, Mexico and marquee properties and venues across the United States from New York City to San Francisco.

We hired Kevin from Alive Events and Entertainment to be our DJ at our wedding in October 2012. He completely took care of all our sound needs as he provided all the equipment. The only thing he didn’t have was a wireless mic, which our officiant requested and as soon as I passed this info on to him, he told me how much it would be to rent and took care of finding, renting, and getting it for me. Again, I didn’t have to worry about a thing. I was very particular about what styles of music I wanted at our wedding since my husband and I are both really into music and dancing. I meticulously put together a binder with songs that I wanted him to play. He met with me twice before the wedding, once to look at the event space and then again to review my music requests. I told him that he could play other songs similar to the styles and specific songs that I requested (soulful house, R&B, 80’s, 90’s, and 2000’s hip-​hop). He was very open to whatever I wanted and offered me feedback showing me he knew just what I was looking for. On the day of our wedding, he arrived on time, dressed sharp, and proceeded «to rock the jams». He set up one system in the ceremony space and one in the reception space and seamlessly DJed before, during, and after the ceremony, and then straight into and through the reception, all by himself. You would have thought he had an assistant (but doesn’t– so his prices are much more reasonable than all the other wedding DJs I looked at). We loved everything he played. When my nephew requested a song that was totally different than the music I asked him to play, he even told my nephew to clear it with me first! Working with Kevin was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend hiring him for your wedding. He has a huge selection of music and the talent of reading the crowd to keep the dancing going and the energy and excitement up!

Kevin gave us the most fantastic sound for our wedding reception. We provided a few song titles that embodied the vibe we were seeking for cocktails/​dinner. Based on that tiny nugget of info he was able to take our eclectic tastes and weave them all together into an exceptional mix that set just the right tone.
As for the dance party portion – WOW! We wanted broad appeal to keep the dance floor busy. Kevin struck the right balance of current dance tunes and the very best of what I like to call «cheesy 80’s pop» (y’know what I mean – the songs that you just can’t help but love, even now). I don’t think I sat out a single song, and I know several of my cousins did not either! One of them even vowed this was the best wedding dance party she’s ever experienced.

We hired Kevin Manning, AKA DJ Consuelo, for a grand opening event in Santa Clara. He was recommended to us by another DJ who we had previously used, and his recommendation was amazing! DJ Consuelo played for a few hours, before and after our Grand Opening Ceremony, and we really appreciated having him around! This was a corporate event, and i was honestly a little nervous about the music he might play, but he definitely understood and was spot on with music choices. That really eased my nerves as the day went on. I would highly recommend DJ Consuelo for any corporate event, or any large event for that matter. He was very professional, and we will use his services again if the opportunity comes.

Kevin Manning with Alive Events and Entertainment was our DJ and sound guy for our wedding at the Vintage Estate in Yountville, Ca. on May 28, 2011. He came recommended by a friend who knows him personally and who uses him for corporate events. We met Kevin prior to hiring him, he is a very cool and collected guy who understood our vision and what we were looking for as a wedding DJ.
We wanted cool, chic music for the dinner and then house music/​dance music mash-​ups for the dancing part of the wedding. We did not want any slow songs, we wanted it to be a fun fabulous dance party and that is exactly what he gave us. At dinner, he played jazzy, world music, cool eclectic music that my husband and I loved. At the dancing portion he played the hottest music mash-​ups and it was exactly what we wanted– a dance party! Kevin kept people on the dance floor the entire night! People have been talking about how much fun they had and that it was one of the best weddings they have been to. I think that has a lot to do with our DJ Kevin. He also worked with our budget and was wonderful to work with.
I HIGHLY recommend Kevin with Alive Events and Entertainment and will hire him again the next time I need a DJ!
