Amy is incredibly knowledgeable in a broad range of Chinese acupuncture techniques and herbal medicine. I have seen her over a few months for fatigue, skin congestion, and chronic neck pain, which she has addressed with needle acupuncture, cupping, moxa, shiatsu massage, and a simple herbal protocol. I have a curious mind and she is great at explaining the traditions and the science behind the healing techniques. She is also a great listener, very thorough, and tailors each session to exactly what you and your body are needing. From the herbal formula and the meticulous body work, my skin has cleared and brightened, my energy level has become more steady and balanced, and my neck is making great strides (neck is a long term issue, so I was not expecting an overnight miracle) which is a HUGE relief. Her online scheduling system is super convenient and sends reminders, which I appreciate. I have not seen any «conventional» physicians for these conditions, as I always go for the most natural, least invasive, safe and non-​toxic methods first. I highly recommend Amy’s care for acute conditions and for regular health maintenance.

Amy is my Sister-​in-​Law, and in the past, I had received Acupuncture from some of her students at ACTCM in San Francisco, who were terrific. I went to see Amy professionally for the first time last month, and it was a great experience!
I had been experiencing neck pain and had some relief from my massage therapist, but still had a dull pain. After an easy but thorough intake interview, she started my treatment. My Acupuncture treatment was followed by a great massage, and I left the office feeling relaxed and revitalized. My neck pain was gone and has not returned. Amy is very professional and very knowledgeable.
I have had an additional treatment to de-​stress, which was also great. I look forward to my next treatment.

Amy is a wonderful practitioner! I first went to her after a back injury from a car accident, and she used a variety of techniques (acupuncture, cupping, massage, electrodes, ointments, and supplements) to help alleviate my neck/​back/​hip pain. I really appreciated that she would adapt her techniques to meet my needs for each session based on how my body reacted to a particular treatment. I also really appreciated that she doesn’t push for additional, unnecessary treatments/​sessions. Amy is an exceptional healer! I’ve been seeing her almost weekly for a year; she is warm & friendly, extremely knowledgable in regards to Chinese medicine and acupuncture, and she’s also great with trigger-​point, cupping, and massage. She’s given me a few herbs that I’ve found very helpful for certain health issues I was dealing with. I’m so glad I tried acupuncture as an alternative to prescription drugs/​etc, I’ll admit I was a bit intimidated by acupuncture (because of the needle aspect) but it’s really not painful and she makes you feel super comfortable. I originally booked an appointment with Amy several months ago on one of those Groupon or Living Social deals and it was truly the best one I’ve ever purchased because I may not have found her otherwise. From the very first session with Amy I realized that she was different from most doctors (or acupuncturists). She is absolutely amazing and such a sweet person! Amy spent so much time with me at our first appointment to really get to know me as she wanted to make sure she covered all of my concerns. At every subsequent session she asked me specifics about what we were working on and how I was doing, and she always remembered all my concerns so she could make sure my treatment would leave me feeling pain-​free, relaxed and refreshed! Amy utilizes many different techniques and methods in her practice and the results were effective for me every time. Her healing hands combated my neck and back pain and a host of other things she helped me with. I honestly learned so much from her about my health and physical/​emotional well-​being. I always looked forward to my appointments so much and am so sad to have moved and not get regular sessions with Amy anymore! 5+++++ stars for Amy Acupuncture!!!

I had sciatica badly from all the driving I do. Amy not only got me over the episode that brought me to her, but gave me an exercise I could do anytime I felt twinges of it coming on. i have successfully fended off several early onslaughts that could have become bad, thanks to Amy!

I can’t say enough great things about Amy Baird as a Doctor of Chinese Medicine, a teacher, and one of my inspirations for my studies of this amazing medicine! She is extremely knowledgable and well versed in Chinese Medicine as well as her understanding of Western Medicine and Anatomy. She is experienced, talented, caring, loving, warm, and professional.
I met Amy over 4 years ago, when she was my teacher in my first year studies at ACTCM Chinese Medicine School. She was one of my favorite and most memorable teachers and her teaching style was so refreshing because she really knew how to relate to students and make learning fun and relaxed. In my perspective, this took real skill because it showed she was well rounded and had true passion for what she was teaching, as well as truly caring about her students learning experience. She knew how to pick out students individual strengths and took the time to compliment and encourage us, keep us excited to keep doing our best!
A few years later, she was my «Clinic Supervisor» in the student clinic while I was the «Student Acupuncturist & Herbalist in Training.» My training under her was invaluable, (to this day I still use many of her techniques in my practice), several unique and tailored treatment protocols, needling styles, alternative ways of treating and herbal remedies. She filled me with confidence and was there for me when I needed support. Her knowledge and willingness to help her patients went beyond what I got from other faculty in my training. Amy was a great example of a well rounded doctor: how to be professional and personable, warm and friendly with patients. She was intuitive, and gave so much to each patient, always willing to give beyond what most practitioners would, as to ensure each one of her patients had an effective and well rounded treatment and a good healing experience.
I’ve also seen Amy in her private practice as her patient and I loved my treatment with her! Her analysis of my condition and her treatment gave me instant relief for my condition. Her needling style was painless but strong and effective and her expertise for herbal supplements cleared my condition in days later. She even followed up with me to make sure I was getting better. Her style of care is exceptional and I hope to follow in her footsteps as an exceptional Acupuncturist and Herbalist.

I saw this practitioner for 3 acupuncture sessions. The treatments themselves went well. I do not doubt her alternative treatment knowledge.
However, there were a few red flags that I wasn’t pleased with. Both times, she was late by about 20 minutes. In additionally, she promised another treatment (cupping) but never followed through with it. The acupuncture itself felt good, though it felt very rushed. I had electrode treatment on my back. Shortly after placing the electrodes, she was out of the room. It was all so quick that before I even had time to sense whether it was too strong or to light, she was no longer there. Also during one of the sessions, her husband walked in. Which I found very unprofessional.
Lastly, please look over your bills CLOSELY. Especially when you are using your own insurance!!!
Again, I am not doubting her acupuncture knowledge. However if you would like a professional, committed, and honest treatment.

I have arthritis on my lower back it hurt so much. Until my husband got me a groupon. This lady knows her stuff. All I can say is thank you so much.

Amy Baird changed my life — no lie, no exaggeration — straight truth. Within two months of a combination of acupuncture and herb regiment prescribed by Dr. Amy, I saw the disappearance of night sweats that had been keeping me from a good night’s rest for well over 5 months, talk about hot, sweaty misery. The balancing of hormones she achieved with me has been remarkable to say the least.
Amy possesses a wonderful bedside manner, I’ve always felt extremely comfortable and cared for in her presence. She explains everything and is always so willing to answer questions. I’ve only ever been to one other acupuncturist but because of a language barrier was unable to converse about my treatment — slightly scary when you’re having needles stuck all over your body. Entirely different experience with Amy. Not only does she take the time at the beginning of each session to really check in and see where you’re at, she is happy to explain the thought process behind each needle, each treatment.
Amy’s touch is gentle and if a needle ever feels uncomfortable or too intense she is right there to adjust, remove.
I highly recommend the hot moxa if she suggests it. My feet tingle with happiness just thinking about it, so incredibly relaxing. I also had some cupping therapy performed once when I came into office with a wicked crick in my neck… can’t say I loved the sensation but it definitely helped shorten the duration and intensity of the pain. All of these treatments fall into the pricing for the hour, she’s not nickeling and diming you as she moves from one treatment to the next — it’s all very organic feeling… she sees something needs to be worked on, she asks you if you want to proceed and then she implements. Very different experience than you’ll get in most doctor’s offices.
I’m also appreciative how holistically she approaches her treatment. Not only did she implement acupuncture and herbs for me but also discussed my diet, my stress levels and made suggestions about certain foods she thought would help as well as other additional, Western herbs.
Her office is exactly what I want an acupuncturist office to be — warm, inviting, very clean without having the cold, sterile feeling of a typical doctor’s office. I always look forward to going and leave feeling invigorated and pleased with myself for making a healthy choice every now and again. :)
I wholeheartedly give Amy as a referral to anyone looking for a range of relief.

After a 2^nd allergist and another acupuncturist could not keep with my allergies, I started seeing Amy as she was in the neighborhood. Amy’s treatments have been amazing. She’s extremely knowledgeable in both acupuncture and herbal remedies. Amy is very keen on tailoring a creative therapy that worked for me, more than just following traditional/​regimented Chinese pressure points. (As an FYI, regular treatments is key – noticeable change will happen after several sessions.)
What makes Amy even more amazing is that she’s an instructor and program advisor for acupuncture at ACTCM. From one of our social circles, we’ve heard absolutely wonderful news about her as a teacher as well. I highly recommend Amy as an acupuncturist and herbal therapist.

After experiencing extreme pain on two different occasions in the past year, Amy’s diverse training gives her a perspective that crosses the worlds of traditional Chinese and herbal medicine with a contemporary twist that immediately provided me with relief. Amy is nothing short of a miracle worker. I came to her with severe back pain and she was able to make it disappear. She is a true healer and has one of the largest, most beautiful hearts of anyone I ever met. She is an expert in her field and also a joy to be around. When I started seeing Amy about a 8 months, I had had little luck with western medicine crème for the Psoriasis which I had just developed as well as a bout with depression.
Within in a couple of months the spots that had covered my entire body had completely cleared up and my mood had been lifted. I was told this I would have to combat this condition with prescription-​grade steroid crème for the rest of my life, but with just Amy’s expert acupuncture, diet and herb recommendations I have it under control without the harsh drugs.
Not only has she been practicing for years, but she teaches acupuncture so it is no surprise she is familiar for all the various names of herbs and exceedingly knowledgeable about what points work with all different sorts of issues.
Finally the best thing about Amy is that she is innovative in her approach. She makes the time in the beginning of the appointment to really discuss your issues and how they have been handled up until that point, and then works different points and techniques. Its always exciting, whether it be a hot moxa box smoking mugwort on my stomach, electric pulses through certain needles, anti-​smoking/​drinking ear-​seeds to keep on after treatment or even cupping on my back, I always feel relaxed and taken care of after my treatment.

Amy’s treatments have been amazingly helpful in keeping us healthy and energized. She has been especially helpful with digestion problems and general fatigue and increasing energy levels.
She has something extra special that keeps us coming back — it might be more love, more knowledge, more care, more expertise??? I don’t know but her treatments have helped us keep going through very busy and exhausting times.
