There is another way to live, a way to be ambitious and smart and successful without being miserable, stressed out, self-​critical. I can guide you in making tangible changes for the better, and uncover hidden strengths you never knew were there. I specialize in working with perfectionism and «inner critic» issues, and the anxiety or depression that often comes with them.

I work with both short-​term and long-​term clients, for symptom relief and for in-​depth personal growth. I have particular expertise with young adults, teens, and men. I specialize in working with smart, creative, high achievers, and people who are cynical or skeptical about therapy.

I get what you’re going through. I deeply understand the pain of anxiety and self-​criticism, the hopeless feeling of depression, the loneliness of relationships going awry or never getting going at all. I also know there are ways out of this suffering – ways that are hard to find on your own – and that finding the right therapist can make all the difference.

I know how frustrating it can be to have a therapist who «just sits there.» That’s not me. I ask questions, I work with you to find solutions. When it’s helpful to you, I share what I’ve learned from all my varied life experiences: living all over the U.S. and abroad, working in careers as diverse as magazine editor and guide dog trainer.

I engage your intellect with thought-​provoking questions, and help you make connections you didn’t see before. I guide you in unfolding your own narrative, making sense of the story of your life. I also help you tune in to your body and emotions, using mindfulness tools and meditation techniques.
