I left a message for Apollo this lunchtime about our heating, which had stopped working. Someone called me back straight away and had a technician with me within the hour. It’s only 3pm now, and the technician has totally fixed our heating! Great service, really efficient, can’t recommend them enough. And Andy our technician was super nice and helpful, too.

The team was super friendly and was able to accommodate me for an emergency repair the same day. The engineer (Chris) was friendly and thorough, delivering top quality service.
The repair wasn’t cheap, but it was worth every penny. Will definitely be using them again.

These guys were great! Manny and his sons replaced my vintage (1947) gravity heater with a new furnace and even coordinated removal of the asbestos ductwork with an abatement company. Super fast, easy to work with, and very professional.

Knowledgeable, efficient, reasonable! Several years ago I needed a new main circuit board in my furnace and Manny Gomez Jr replaced it no problem. He also showed me how to make my house warmer. Yesterday, Chris Gomez did a great job helping make my electrostatic air cleaner work efficiently and improved the heat in my frequently cold downstairs office and bedroom. THANK YOU Apollo!

These are the guys you want. They are totally professional, know exactly what they are doing, do exactly what they say they will do and are absolutely direct and straightforward with you.
When my furnace failed during a cold spell I contacted Apollo on the recommendation of Associated Heating who were too busy to do a service call. I could make an appointment with Apollo for 3 days later.
The technician arrived exactly on time. He quickly diagnosed the problem but did not have the part he needed to complete the repair. He called another technician who did have the part in his truck. The first guy left and the second guy came right over and did the replacement.

Extremely poor diagnostics and repair. I had a problem with our fireplace heater. I had used Apollo Heating several times in the past for what I thought was a similar repair. This time they were busy and I had to wait a week for an appointment.
When Chris came to repair the fireplace, he took about 20 minutes to diagnose what he thought was the problem, replace a switch and charged me $ 136. That was about $ 6 for the switch and about $ 130 for 20 minutes of service. He at no time tested a full cycle of the heater. He got the heater to come on and he could turn it off and on manually. He never tested whether the heater would turn itself on with the thermostat and then turn itself off when the desired temperature was reached.
Forty minutes after Chris left the fireplace completely shut down turning off the gas and the pilot light. I called Apollo to come back and complete their work. Chris came back and did virtually the same amount of limited testing, never letting the fireplace complete a full cycle of turning itself on and turning itself off. After about 10 minutes of incomplete testing Chris declared the fireplace repaired and left. The same thing happened again. After about 40 minutes the fireplace turned itself off again including the pilot light.
I called back again and ask the person on the telephone to send someone to finish the repair. The person on the phone told me to start the pilot light myself. When I told him I couldn’t, he said they would not send anyone out. I would have to find another repair company. He didn’t even have the courtesy to ask why I couldn’t start the pilot light. I am wheelchair bound and am not able to go onto the floor and then get back in my wheelchair without assistance.
I was totally exasperated. Apollo heating has poor fireplace diagnostic skills, Charges their customers for more time than they actually spend working on your fireplace, treat their customers rudely and refuse to give any extra consideration to a person who is disabled.

These guys are incredible! Worth waiting for if you have to wait a couple of days for an appointment. After my bathroom flooded some water got into my furnace intake valve. Two days later the furnace wouldn’t work. Another company came, told me I needed a new furnace. When I asked about a repair they said they couldn’t do it. Said I could try Apollo but that the repair would likely be ~$ 1500 and I’d be better off going with a new furnace.
Since it was almost spring I decided to postpone. Last winter was relatively mild so I just dressed warmer and used a space heater as needed. This November it got very cold and my PG&E bill got very large. I called Apollo and told them what happened and that I might need a new furnace. His response: «No. We’ll fix it for you.» They showed up today and the furnace turned on without a problem. We suspect the electronics had time to dry off and that’s all that was needed. The charge for coming out and taking a look… $ 80. These guys are honest and just want to do your repair. Call them first!!!

Apollo heating is great. They swung by this morning and were very thorough and reasonable. They made some simple tweaks to our furnace and tested it thoroughly. All set. Would recommend them. Nice local folks.

Manny’s repair of our broken furnace was probably one of the best home service experiences I have ever had. He was exactly on time, thorough, and very professional. I had doubts about a site visit with no estimate while being charged by the hour, but it all went very smoothly. I would recommend this company to anyone in need of similar services.

Just called to have my wall heater serviced (pilot
light is out and heater hasn’t worked in years) and Manny advised me to call PGE first because they are responsible for this as my gas provider. So, haven’t used Apollo yet but already have a good experience with them which is not always the rule. Other companies were ready to come out and charge me at least $ 100 for the visit!

I had my furnace installed about 14 years ago by a different company. I recently noticed it wasn’t blowing any air. I found Apollo on Unilocal and they sent a technician out in a few days. He was able to come earlier than originally scheduled (after calling me first to make sure I would be home), diagnosed the problem as a bad motor capacitor, and he had the part in his truck. He fixed the problem fairly quickly and stuck around a bit to make sure the furnace and thermostat were working properly. The tech was professional and friendly. Great service overall.

I called Apollo for an issue I had with the heating. They actually referred me to PG&E instead, who came and fixed my issue free of charge. Passing on easy money like that shows honesty and integrity. Next time I have an issue, I will definitely call them first.

My heater stopped working and we wanted to be sure there was not a pilot light issue. They were able to get me in the following day. Gave good advice, fixed problem and cost was reasonable.

The only company that called me back after at least four attempts calling others and leaving messages at every one. I guess the furnace business is hopping in San Francisco.
Apollo came out the same day. Price was par for the course –ie. not cheap for a repair that took about 15 minutes. But still, I was very happy to have gotten any service at all after striking out repeatedly with calls to other companies.
For that reason alone they are now my preferred shop.

Aces! Called these guys because our furnace went down– it had been making some noise for a few days and today I woke up and it was chilly in the house. Went down into the crawlspace and looked at it, diagnosed it in 2 seconds, took about a half hour to change out the part. House is nice and warm again. True professionals. Thanks guys!!!

I had a PGE voltage surge that rendered my central heating inoperable so I called Apollo. Manny arrived right on time and assessed the problem in just a few minutes. He gave me a bunch of options on how to fix the heater in the least expensive way and in the end got it running perfectly for way less than I feared it would be.
Manny is a super nice guy and great at what he does. I can’t recommend him highly enough!

Even with a swamped schedule, Manny was able to fit me in to fix my heater before Christmas! Wonderful customer service, clean, and honest /​reasonable rates. Why can’t all business operate like Apollo?

Short version: they sold me by assuring me that they wouldn’t charge me to come out to my home, performed work which I didn’t authorize, and stuck me with a disproportionately high bill that they then justified as covering the cost of coming out to my home… the very thing they said they wouldn’t charge me for.
Long version: These guys advised me against «unreputable companies» that charge a service fee just for traveling to your home. They were proud about only charging according to their hourly rate and parts cost. They even advised me to call PG&E, who may fix it for free. Sounded like good people.
Well, I invited them to come out. They performed diagnostic work on my furnace and reset a switch, which got it running. At this point he proceeds to perform 10mins of work that I didn’t approve of without disclosing a price. In the end got stuck with a bill of $ 120 which is an hour of service.
When I asked about why the charge was so high for such a short duration of service, they told me it takes the driver time to come out to my house. The thing they warn me against with other companies is what they end up charging me for.

I can understand how this business gets a good rating. Nobody wants to be left out in the cold and is very happy when somebody comes out to fix the problem. However, there is a few notes or caution. If Manny comes out an service your furnance with out parts, he’ll charge you $ 120 per hr. However, if you have parts to replace, he’ll make more money. Please note, I am not saying Manny would charge me for work that is not necessary. His products is very expensive. They are in the business of service and retail.
I own a rental property that is relatively newer in the city. The furnance is original from 1986. We had a situation where it was difficult to diagnosis the issue. Sometimes the furnance can be turn on but sometimes it can not. It turns out the inspector said the ignition control module needs to be replace. They service the issue which was good experience (I wasnt there but that is what the tenant said). They identify the issue and fix it. and life goes on.
However, when I got the invoice, I was a bit numb with the cost. They charge me $ 265 ignition module where online it goes around $ 50. I call the office to get understanding. The man on the phone said the product price is a mistake, it should be $ 235 (That could be a honest mistake but it can be a sign of their overcharges). He continued to say in a nutshell on top of their hourly rate of $ 120 is they need to make a living and to cover all of their expenses and guarantees the service and product (I expect the product have a manufacture warranty so I am not totally sold on that). I own a small business so I can understand how difficult to own one but here is my problem:
— Selling a unit for 3X as much as you pay for is price gouging. If my car breaks down or I need to change my timing belt, the car repair shop charges me the product at fair market rate (lets say they pay $ 20 a belt and charge me $ 30 or $ 40, I’m ok with that because I’m paying for the convenience). Where services like a repair shop earns their money is there hourly rate where they have already built in their cost of running their business. I just called again before I post this review and with a furnance repair, they get it at wholesale price and charge it at the suggested manufacture retail price.
— My invoice was almost $ 400. The product is like no more than $ 100. So one hr of your service is $ 300. Rip off. You over charge. straight up. You put up a good talk but dont give me your stories.
— I dont think its a honest business model where they make money off from the product. There’s no clear guidelines how much he can charge so that’s where my complaint is. Large products such as the furnances have MSRP so its easy to say how much they should charge.
— In response to «I have to make a living», business is not easy. The market dictates the rate, not what you would like to make.
— When you said if you give me a product to install, I will not install them means to me you are not a service company. You’re a retail with serivce company.
In essences, I feel like I am getting double charge. I think this practice may be common but this experience is very apparent to me. I feel like I didnt get good value. I will be taking down your sticker on my furnance and do a little more homework next time. I hope you are reporting the tax I am paying to the city.

The 5 stars are for service. After Apollo repairs the fan on my furnace I will report on competence.
Met Manny this morning at a rental property I take care of for my daughter. He had already looked at the furnace (the tenant let him in) and he was speaking with another tenant about the situation. The tenants said the furnace smelled when they used it and so they seldom turn it on. Manny checked the C02 (fine) and he did notice a part is wearing out and told me I have less than a year. He told me I would need to enlarge the space (a closet) where the furnace is kept if he is to make any repairs. He gave me a lot of information about possibly replacing the furnace (he advised against it — as I will have to move it’s location, new ductwork $ 12K job) or trying to make it last a few more years. I was impressed. I will have him look at a property I just bought (for me to live in) and give me a bid for a new furnace and ducts.

I had our old Furnace replaced with a New one. I chose Apollo Heating because they where HONEST! I especially liked the fact that they where a local mom and pop business.
They did not try to pressure me in buying a expensive Furnace.
I got two other quotes from two other businesses and they where trying to sell me expensive unnecessary Stage 2 Furnaces… with a high installation fee…

Manny is the man. I called to have my heater checked out. Manny explained thoroughly and in detail what will happened during his service call. I thought for sure according to PG&E that my heater was a goner. Manny came and rescued my heater w/​o having to replace. I felt he was honest and knowledgeable.
Manny was fast and reliable and experience. I will definitely refer him to everyone I know.
