They overcharge loyal customers. In December, I had a flat, called around, B&W offered the best price. Same tire went flat again, came back to have it fixed, and they charged 50% more. Seemed like more, and checked when I got home and confirmed. I called them, and they said there was an extra charge since they installed the tire. Really? They didn’t charge me for it last time when I was comparison shopping. I trusted them to provide the best price, and they took advantage of me for that.

The owners response is simply not true. The first time I came the tire was also off my car. I had a massive flat and changed in the spare.
Furthermore — they have done a terrible job. I realized that the second repair was for a slow leak left after the first repair. And that leak has persisted. The tire that they ‘fixed’ needs to be topped up with air about every two weeks.
In light of this I am revising my review down to one star.

$ 50 dollar non-​synthetic oil. When I called I was quoted $ 29. Couldn’t even get my tires rotated. But I guess thanks for putting air in my tires. It only took 20 min so I guess i should be happy I wasn’t waiting long. Times are tough I guess. Not coming back.

Came here because I felt my mechanic wasn’t being thorough enough. Well, at least he wasn’t trying to rip me off. Went in for a leaking power steering pump hoses and a complete safety check. Their price for a safety check is $ 140-​their hourly rate. I figured well, that’s what it costs to find everything. I let them fix my power steering pump and replace the distributor which they said was arching– wondering now if that was even true. They steam cleaned the engine, greased the suspension, replaced hoses, and distributor cap $ 501. Upon paying the guy at the counter says, «You probably need a new starter, didn’t seem to be firing up correctly.» I replied, «That starter is only 10 months old.» Went home, pick up something from my house and headed out. Next thing I know I’m stuck in West Oakland at 10:30pm. Took BART home. Come back the next day in daylight to find the starter connection has been disconnected– the nut is is missing. Screwed it in, taped it and drove away. Now. If a mechanic says you need a new starter after doing a complete $ 140 safety check– which I specified to check all connections, look for frayed wires etc and can’t find a loose starter connection– my car’s not complicated– something’s amiss. Four emails later (I like to correspond in writing) and no reply. Called my original mechanic and another one for good measure, both agree that a connection like that would be hard to miss on my car. Plus, the other work that needs to be done, I had estimates come in at $ 150 less than these guys. And… my original mechanic is going to replace my broken door panel with no hourly charge and replace my stolen tire jack. Another glitch: On the original estimate nothing is mentioned about my starter. On my final bill it says I declined that service. The starter issue was only mentioned as I was leaving. I asked if they put air in my ailing tires, they said yes. I checked them the next day before buying new ones, they were all low. All my fluids were low, too. Coolant, windshield … my mechanic puts this in as a courtesy with every service. Beware. They seem to think women that drive Jeeps are not very smart. Sorry guys, epic FAIL in customer service and mechanic know how.
Aug 1 2015-​Update: 1 week later and still no reply– even checked my junk email folder. I took my car back to my original mechanic. He says definitely someone messed with your starter connection wires– Fortunately the shop was able to repair it. Seriously stay away from this shop.
Aug 4 2015-​Update: It’s pretty easy to figure out who I am. The sappy reply from the owner on this site is moot. A few checks into some paper work would suffice resulting in further genuine action from the owner who posted his reply here. Again, 4 emails, a Unilocal review and a «how was your service» survey garner some action on their part. Talk is cheap.

B&W came highly recommended by a coworker, and I have been really happy with all of their help. I am a new driver and car owner, and they’re always happy to explain everything that they recommend for my car. It’s also clear they’re not trying to take advantage of my inexperience, because all of the work they’ve done and recommendations they’ve made have been met with approval from my dad and disbelief at their very fair prices from my brother. Super happy to have found somewhere I can trust!

Me going on Unilocal and writing a review is a testament to how awesome these guys are. Ive never felt the urge to leave a review for anything until I went to B and W. I took my car in to get serviced before a long road trip– they were fast, efficient and very good communicators and saved me a ton of money compared to the dealership.
Not only are they pleasant to work with but my car now runs better than when I took it off the dealership lot. Seriously. It does.
Bill also offered to give it a once over before I left, no charge, to make sure everything is in working order. They really care about their customers and the quality of their service.
I would never take my car anywhere else.

I went in for a new starter motor, and lube/​oil change, and it was done the same day. Very quick service. I’ve used them several times for repairs and they have always been friendly and quick.

Best service pssible.

I’ve had several services performed at B&W — new tires, new brake pads, oil change, and such. Every time the service is done at the estimated time or earlier, and for the estimated price. The guys are straightforward and they get the job done, no hassling for unneeded work or anything like that.

Quick oil change, good price, straightforward service at the counter. Not much of a waiting room, but not much of a wait, either. I’ll be back.

I ran into some trouble getting my truck smogged, and, long story short, needed a new cold air intake put in my truck. B&W not only told me what to look for, but after I got the part they were able to install it that day. Brought my truck in around 8:30, they had it done at noon. Great job too, everything looks great and runs perfectly. They even had two guys working on it to get it done faster and only charged me for one! All in all, a great place to bring your car, they’ve got a customer for life.

Old fashioned customer service. Fixed right the first time or bring it back and they will make it right. Always fixed on time. They are the «Click & Clack» of the Mission…

I’ve been taking my cars to B&W for over 10 years now. Bill and Wayne and their team is fast, efficient, professional and honest. Their prices are always fair and never have felt any pressure to have any extra work done — I really trust these guys!

First off, I own a 92 Saab, not the easiest vehicle to find parts for, by any means. I have brought my turbo into these guys twice, both for some semi major things, and they have been more than great. First time I needed a distributor, which was not available locally, but they found. Charge me nothing for shipping, and installed promptly, second time we needed help, they actually had to fix a botched job from the last mechanic. Ran a test through the whole electrical system, and made sure all was good. To be clear, these guys are not the cheapest, but they will also fix your car CORRECTLY, the FIRST time.

Bill and his team are life savers. My Jeep broke down near their shop on the last day of my vacation, and I needed parts and work done ASAP so I could make it home to LA for work the next day. Knowing this – and thus that I wasn’t a Bay resident and wouldn’t be a regular customer – they still did the work quickly and efficiently. I was even able to get home to LA by the end of the day!
I’m so grateful I found B&W. These guys do honest, hard work and do their best to get you back on the road as quickly as possible. We should all be so lucky to have a shop like them close by. I wish they had a place in LA!

This place tow my car for $ 125 accordingly… we’ll I ended bring it to other shop due to insurance won’t cover their demands… on top of that $ 125 got double charge with no hesitant fat Bruce is fat ripoff don’t give a damn about customer situation… trust me I highly not recommend this shop he will eat all yo $$$.do beware once they don’t get what they want smh!

These guys do a solid job and will save you a ton of money in comparison to a dealership. I’ve gotten the same maintenances quoted between SF Honda and B&W for my Accord and B&W is consistently 30−40% cheaper. Over time, that adds up to a ton of savings. Yeah, the location could be better and but it’s worth it in terms of the trade-​off for honest service and competitive prices.
Pro-​tip: Always check their site for the latest coupons and save even more!

I’ve had three cars (never owned a new car) that I’ve brought here over the years. They’ve always been HONEST with me, which is really the most important thing to me considering I am at any mechanic’s mercy as to what they find. I’ve gone to other mechanics over the years for various reasons as well. I’ve never come out of this shop with new problems (which has happened too many times at other places).
As far as pricing goes, they have always been reasonable with me going so far as cutting me a break ($) on checking out a problem if I brought the car in for a problem I thought it had but didn’t.

These guys are fast and good.
All my estimates (three major repairs so far) have been spot-​on and the work fixed the problem each time. Always finished in a day. For the most recent job I went somewhere else first and got a expensive estimate to replace the rack and pinion steering. B&W diagnosed a broken strut, which turned out to be correct, and was cheaper to fix.
The owners are from the neighborhood and their garage is solar powered, if you need more reasons to go here.
