For over 15 years I’ve had the pleasure to experience several facets of this field we love. I pride myself in being a seasoned yet humble team player with the proven ability to successfully develop and maintain healthy client relationships. Which at the end of the day is our mission as Hairstylists, right? Impeccable customer service is the FOUNDATION of any successful business. Although both are invaluable, effort trumps skill.

From the extra care I’ve put into creating an atmosphere where my clients can escape their day-​to– day stress, to the high-​end AVEDA products I’ve learned to use to pamper the client’s hair and face, I’ve spared no time or expense in getting it right.

It was first time in SF I was wondering around town came across this barbershop. I Set up an appointment with Walter really good barber. Most definitely coming back next time I’m in town.

Barber Walter is THE MAN. He’s been cutting my hair for over a year and has always done me solid. He is a true artist in his craft with both the experience and talent to back it up. His attention to detail is meticulous. He really takes his time to give you the perfect fade, texture, clean lines, or all the above. His customer service is the best in the business. He’s one of the most personable and interesting people you’ll meet in the city. I even look forward to my haircuts just so we can catch up. I can’t emphasize enough, this guy is an all around top-​notch barber. So sit yourself down, grab a beer, and prepare to have the best haircut of your life.

I’m sad to give this review. Walter is a talented barber and I’ve been visiting him for about two years. But in the past year, he’s missed 4 appointments, including the appointment days before my wedding.
For months, Walter had been telling me, «Your wedding day haircut is on me.» But the day of my appointment, he was no where to be found. He did not respond to text messages or calls to reschedule in the days that followed. I ended up getting butchered by some random barber at the only place that could squeeze me in on short notice. My hair looked terrible in all the wedding photos. Pretty upsetting.
After returning from the honeymoon, I decided to give Walter another chance (after all, no other haircut would ever be that important again). I had one fulfilled appointment and one no-​show. After the no-​show I called to schedule a make-​up appointment. «Hey man, I missed you at 9am. Do you have any space this afternoon that I could come in?» Walter sounded annoyed, but offered to sit me at 4pm. An hour later, he texted to say, «After giving it some more thought, I don’t think we’re a good fit. Peace.» I offered to clear the air in case there was a misunderstanding and asked that I be refunded for the 9am appointment (I had already been charged). No response and Walter was not at the shop at 4pm.
No doubt Walter is a talented barber. I’m disappointed with how I was treated. Maybe he’ll be more organized when his shop opens.

Good barber, but like the other negative comments say, he will eventually not show up/​cancel appointments/​not respond to calls and fall off the face of the earth (for you).
Doesnt matter if you booked ahead, talked to him to set a date, or had a wedding, he’ll just stop responding.
Start working with him if you’d like, but don’t be surprised when you feel like you’re working with a talented 12 year old.

My boyfriend’s experience coming here was not good. We booked online (since we called many times with no one answering the phone) and made an appointment for Sunday about five days in advance. The booking went through, I put my credit card in, and got a confirmation email with the time and address, 555 sutter (which it also says online that he’s there while his offices are being renovated or something). Now when it came to Sunday, we arrived at 555 sutter and the place was locked. We tried calling several times (like 7) and of course, there was no answer when we called. On top of all this, this is the second time this has happened to my boyfriend at this place. Last time he booked online, apparently the booking never even went through. Walter reached out to me a few days after this review to apologize for missing the appointment without notifying us due health issues and asking us to call him again at any time. Even though we were a little frustrated at having wasted a bit of our day, we understood and were willing to try again even. Unfortunately when I responded to Walter’s message trying to schedule another appointment, he just didn’t respond. I don’t know if this will happen to others, I just wanted to share our experience.

Come through Barber Walter’s Joint and get a cut from Walter!
I’m born and raised in San Francisco, one of three brothers, and we’ve been to almost every barber shop in the entire city. Had some good cuts from some good people, but Walter is hands down the best barber I’ve ever been to.
If you want to get a top-​notch grown mans haircut from a good dude, definitely come down to The Joint and check out Walter.

Without a doubt Walter is the best barber I’ve ever had. Not only does he give you the best haircuts, but he a really nice guy and an awesome conversationalist! I always look forward to getting my hair cut by Walter not only for the cut but for the fascinating conversations we always end up having. As long as I live in the Bay Area I’m never getting my hair cut by anyone else. Walter is a true professional.

Haha Brother Barber Walters, where should I begin?
For the past 35yrs I’ve been living (Inside Joke) hands down, I have never gotten my hair cut the way Barber Walters did it. I felt like a new man once my session was done. Before diving deep let me catch you up to my experience with this brother.
From introduction at the door to sitting down in his cutting chair, this man made me feel as though I was in good hands, which I was. The moment I sat down in his chair Barber Walter switched roles back-​to-​back from being just a barber to a psychologist, a mentor, a brother and even a friend. What ever the heart is in need of he got you covered. After a couple of laughs and maybe some tears (lol just kidding) my haircut was done. He most definitely will be seeing me again.

Barber Walter is simply the best barber I’ve ever had. That simple.
Let’s start by stating the fact that he is very professional, and consistently provides polished and damned stylish hair cuts — he excels here, and theres nothing else to say.
What I want to emphasize on, is how welcome you feel when Walter is taking care of you. This is where the magic is for me. Getting a haircut is like walking into your close friends’ house to hang out and catch up.
This is the feeling he is going for at his barber joint, a place with a sense of community and connection, and I am totally onboard with his vision.
As soon as it opens, I most definitely recommend you check this place out!

Since moving to the Bay Area in 2013, only three people have cut my hair. It’s safe to say that Walter was the third and final barber to take clippers and sheers to my mane! Dude provides excellent service, always making sure to understand what it is that his client wants while feeling comfortable enough to offer up his personal suggestions as well. For me, having hair that is both Asian and Hispanic, very few people have been able to consistently provide me with a quality cut. Walter is one of those few people. He’s a great talent and an overall great dude. So happy for him to open his own joint! Can’t wait to come back to the Bay and see it once it’s up and running! Big ups bro!

Getting a haircut used to be a bittersweet experience for me. I’d always look forward to it, however the results never seemed to match my expectations. I’d bounce around from barber to barber, but could never find one that knew exactly what I wanted or how to deliver.
