If I could give negative stars I would. horrible service and the staff follow you around the store as if you’re going to steal. Not a very comfortable environment especially when your coming to actually spend money in there store..

I love this place. I can always count on it to be open and to have what I need in some form. Hair, nails, etc. Staff is knowledgeable and very pleasant.

Went to this store with friends… ok product selection — but way scary mall area. There’s no lighting for the front of the store. Dark store windows, very dark entrance.
On top of buying a few things — we had so many bums ask for money$ or worst in the parking lot. C’mon — clean up the sidewalk and have security for the parking lot! Tons of groups of bad people hanging out in the parking lot — yes, just hanging out — selling things, harassing customers.
Saw at least one mugging. Friends said it’s not worth going back for any discount product.

So I really REALLY wanted to like this store. It’s super close to me and has so many wigs and clips ins that I got all kinds of excited. But due to the store layout design the volume of merchandise doesn’t really help — there’s a lot but you can’t see it.
When I wanted a closer look the staff were helpful, but I had to come up to them. There’s a line between letting someone browse and complete disinterest and well, they crossed it.
I did find some hair I really wanted, but a snag was that they wouldn’t let me try it on (clip in extensions) even with a wig cap. And it was expensive, around $ 220 for 22 inch strips of butterscotch blonde hair.
I think the main clientele has Afro hair, and they might find the selection broader and cheaper but I was unimpressed.

There seems to be one gal in the shop who really knows the product and how to use it. I called with a question about items I had bought and not only do very few people who work there speak a reasonable amount of english to be able to communicate effectively but they also know nothing about the product they sell. Educate yourselves about what you sell.

Just came here with the intention of buying a fun colorful wig. Arrived with at least 5 minutes to spare before closing time, which I figured would be plenty of time to grab n go. Was immediately chased down the aisle by an older man who works there saying «we’re closed, we’re closed.» When I pointed out that according to their sign they were open until 7:30 and that according to their clock it was 7:25, he said some confused words and walked away so I continued my quick search. Lights were turned off overhead. I found my quarry. Still minutes to spare. I clearly and politely asked the multiple ladies at the counter if someone could help me grab a wig from up high to purchase while some ignored and some looked at me confusedly and said unhelpful things. I know it’s Friday and you want to go home, but really. Finally they *kindly* conceded to let me purchase one if I paid cash. I didn’t have enough cash for the overpriced wig, so they didn’t get my business. And thanks to today likely never will again. Hopefully for them they don’t need it if they’re apparently doing so well that they can afford to be so exceedingly rude and unhelpful.

It is hard to find supplies for black hair in the Bay Area and this place seems to be the best option on the peninsula. I saw the other reviews about being followed around and I tend to be super aware of merchants with this habit. I haven’t had this problem here. I actually have to search for a person to help me each time I come. They do recognize me as a repeat customer and always greet me as such. My only complaint is that it is hard to replace hair with the hair you last had. They frequently are out of stock. But it seems to not be their fault– they said that the vendors don’t have stock of popular items either. Time to change my look then!

Worst customer service every time I go here. They are rude and act as if everyone walks in with the intention to steal. I purchased the wrong hair and paid by debit card. I returned a few minutes later to exchange for the right hair and got a store credit ($ 75.00) for the difference. A month later when I tried to use the store credit, the lady tired to tell me there was nothing on the store credit. The conversation got very intense until another clerk stepped in and ran the credit. Boom — store credit worked. No apologies from the first clerk.
I go today, pick out my hair and present the the store credit to pay for the hair. Immediately the same clerk who a month ago said I didn’t have any balance on the store credit, yells out to another clerk —
«she using store credit» — «she didn’t tell me». What??? I just stand there and wait for her to process my sale. All she said after yelling out «she using store credit» is «you have a balance of $ 17»
I can’t wait to use up the balance and be done with this place. So rude and disrespectful. They don’t deserve my business.
I do not recommend this store to anyone. Take your business elsewhere.

They have a lot of hair and a variety of things too. My first experience here was not so well… The people who work like to follow their customers around. It was actually really uncomfortable and for that reason I give this place only 2 starts. It’s really unfair the way they seem to not trust their customers. I will never shop here again. I rather travel far or to another store, therefore I do not recommend this store for you will be followed around the store like a suspect. Very unfortunate and sad…

I’ve been coming here for years and they’ve lost me as a customer due to inconsistant distant and weird customer service I always feel uncomfortable and on edge there.
I now buy beauty supply items online because I can’t enable weird customer service .

Somebody at the door someone near while you browse somebody pretending to ignore you while they watch to make sure you’re not stealing. They are beyond obvious and paranoid. ghetto minded!

There is a general feeling of unease at that bright store with lots of items and a person at the door… but lots of smiles when you leave.
I get the feeling there is a theft issue (paranoia) or they just don’t seem to care about providing basic customer service to BW. Or sadly they are used to BW who tolerate substandard customer service.
Also do you really need to speak Korean at the register in front of customers?
Your new employee the European American gal with purple hair is a sassy thing who has picked up the attitude of the store she, too, obviously doesn’t enjoy interacting with BW clients.
First time I met her I had to ask her if she worked there as she was just browsing in the wig deparment ‘ignoring’ me.
Girl please you’re just selling hair grease drop the attitude.
I brought my husband to the store on my last visit so he could see for himself and frankly, for moral support because I’m uncomfortable there and it was an emergancy and I was glad it was the last time I’ll be visiting.
You may remember me the lady in pink who is perky with her chin up and who always brings her own pink bags to use.
SO happy to be making my beauty supply purchases online now. Thanks for kickstarting that.

This review is strictly for the customer service.
I showed up today @ 7:25 pm to purchase some clip on bangs for a trip to LV. I called ahead of time and confirmed they closed at 7:30.
Not only did they lock the door early, but all three workers present refused to even acknowledge that I was standing outside in the cold. All I got was a finger wiggle. Like a dog taking a crap on the rug.
I get it, you want to go home on time. But at the very least, CAN YOU PLEASE CONFIRM WHAT TIMES YOU ARE ACTUALLY OPEN SO I CAN TRY AGAIN TOMORROW?! Don’t be rude! I’m not going to beg you to buy weave but it took me 30 minutes on the 38 to get here — — the least you can do is speak to me like a normal human being.

I have been going there for years. I find their products to be overpriced. I just bought an item, and it was overpriced and awful. I don’t recommend the place.

I love this place. They have a great selection of wigs, weaves, and hair for braiding. There’s jewelry, hair dye, nail polish, flat irons, electric pressing combs (hot combs), sampoos, conditioners, etc.
If you are overwhelmed by all of that merchandise give Alan a holler. He is so HELPFUL and patient. Alan goes the extra mile to find you what you want. He listens and ask questions and offers suggestions. The greatest customer service I’ve experienced anywhere in a very long time.
Alan will even order certain products especially for you if tthey happen to be out of stock or are a discontinued item. There is a tallish, slender Asian guy that’s usually there sometimes. Sorry, I don’t remember your name, but you’re quite helpful too!
If the manager/​owner reads any of this, you really should give Alan a raise; a GOOD raise. I mean really. If you appreciate your workers that much give Alan a raise. He’s one of the reasons why you guys make sells, i.e. MONEY!
I have to admit they are a bit pricey. But if you buy multiple items, you can usually get a discount. And the quality’s good.

They have every kind of hair product you could ever want. They are cheap and also very helpful! I love coming here for any hair conditioning, hair dyes, or possibly if I ever need hair extensions.

The store appears to be quite packed with great products, it’s almost overwhelming. Within 1 minute of entering the store someone approached me to ask if I needed any help. I told her I was there to purchase clip in extensions, real hair. She took me right to the selection, chose a color and length for me and held it up with a mirror in a few different lights. She picked the perfect hair on the first try.

Great selection! It’s almost overwhelming how many styles and lengths they have. Great customer service though-​just tell them what you’re looking for. I bought 3 packs of braiding hair and thought the price was reasonable for the quality. They gave me some nice samples at the register and they also have the Five Star rewards program where you can earn points and ultimately discounts.

Hair is one of those little things that can differentiate you from a basic bitch. I can’t respect you if your hair, nails, eyebrows and b.o. aren’t under wraps. Needless to say, hair is an accessory that can make or break you.
I came to peep the selection cause this summer I plan on having 22″ of luscious locks. Don’t get me wrong, I love my natural curls but it won’t grow an extra 6″ in the next couple of months. So, I’m turning to some good ol’ weave.
The man who helped me was incredibly knowledgeable on the millions of hair available and how it’ll blend and wear over time. No gimmicks, just facts. I appreciated that because I am a newbie to the weave game and refuse to have stale looking curls!
There are some products that claim to be «virgin indian remy» hair and ARE NOT! So, make sure to ask questions and do your own research.

I went back in to exchange a Redken conditioner for the shampoo (I picked up the wrong bottle, oops!)
I bought a few other things and they nicely gave me a 20% discount to say «thank you» for my review bringing in customers.
I didn’t expect it, it was very sweet. More than a couple of dollars saved, I was happy to hear my review brought a local store more business. That warmed my heart all day long.
