Despite their full-​color, full-​page ad in the yellow pages offering emergency assistance in 15 – 20 minutes, they refused to come to my rescue because I couldn’t produce a phone or credit card, which were, of course, locked in the house. Lesson: before you lock yourself out of your house, be sure to have your method of payment on your person.

My friend got locked out of her car today and I called Best Bay Locksmith (415−643−6275) to ask how long it would take for them to send someone over to get us into her car. The woman told me 25 minutes. After 30 minutes, I called them back to see where they were as we were standing in the cold. The woman apologized and said the technician was leaving right now and it would be another 20 – 25 minutes. So again, I called after 25 minutes to see what was going on and the woman said that she will call the driver and he will call me directly. After another 10 minutes, a tow truck driver called me and said there was some mix-​up on Best Bay Locksmiths end and he was coming out to help us. Finally, the tow truck guy came out, unlocked the car, charged us $ 140, and we ended up waiting 1.5 hours from the start of the process.
I understand that things happen, but I called with the intent that I needed someone to come help us as quick as possible. There is no excuse for a quote of 25 minutes turning into 1.5 hours after several calls. Aweful experience!

Even done work after prior locksmith told me it wasn’t possible.

So, after posting poor reviews here I received a call back from Corrine, the manager. Evidently she had been out of town. She was very concerned about the poor rating, and was eager to fix my review Well, she was instrumental in getting someone out to recheck the lock and follow up. The new technician was on time, friendly and helpful.
My lock is now almost as good as new.

I am definitely happy with the end result!
I lost my car key and they came out, got into my car and made a duplicate all in about 20 – 30 minutes.
They’re not the most professional looking — no logo on van and no hint of a uniform. (not like the web site photos! hahaha)
They showed up on time and it was a fair price. He had to quote me higher because there was no lock code on the lock. But it was reasonable.
Just a hint here to the business owner: I’m a pretty laid back guy, so I don’t mind the non-​uniform and I appreciate a guy that shows up ready to work. But I think it might ease some other people’s worries and might even increase your business if you did have some uniformity.
