Black & White Checker Cabs

I am writing this review because a white and black checkered cab honked at me and my fiancé as we were walking in the cross walk. We had the walk sign so we weren’t illegally walking or anything, and this cab drivers honks at us and then screams out the window that we are «fucking morons.» Really?! So to the white and black checkered cab driver with the bald head and beard, you are an asshole and its cab drivers like you that make Über and Lyft the ride of choice. Sorry, but you’ll eventually lose your job and it will be because you brought it upon yourself!

Used them three different times today and they were all great! Never had to wait more than 10 minutes after calling and all the drivers were nice!

My boyfriend used this cab company last week, and the bill summed up to only 10 dollars. He paid with his credit card and signed a recite for that amount.
A few days after the cab driver took his credit card number and charged 200 dollars instead of the 10 dollars. My boyfriend then called the company to complain but they said it was simply out of their hands.
Clearly this company doesn’t screen their drivers, having thieves working for them and they don’t care if they do steal people’s money. If they did care they would have been much more courteous and at least somewhat concerned about the ordeal.
By looking at the other reviews its not a surprise that this is probably one of the worst if not the worst cab company in all of San Francisco. To put it simply don’t use Black and White Checker Cabs, ever. You might get robbed.

It was a 4:30 am pick up and we got out of the house at 4:36. Our cab driver greets us with, «Um, I was about to leave.» We get in the cab and he literally flies to the airport driving at 70 — 75 miles. Mind you, this was not only on the freeway but on the side streets. Very unsafe and dangerous! When we got dropped off, i was too numb to get his name or cab #.
Being a cab driver, you’re part of SF’s tourism and service industry. You need to be fired for your unsafe driving and you definitely need to get an attitude adjustment! And that’s putting it mildly. I have found that SF cab drivers need a lesson in being polite and personable! You guys don’t even know how to greet your passengers!

I wish I could give negative stars. Cab #772. I think it must be the same driver as the motorcycle rider below complains about. He was behind me. I was going the speed limit+. He passed me on the right — totally illegal and totally dangerous! I caught up to him at a traffic light and told him then, then he sped out of there, weaving in and out of traffic like an a**hole. I’d avoid these guys at all costs!

Whoa, so the guy who drives cab #271 is slightly out of his mind. At every traffic light he would reach across his seat and fidget with what looked like a homemade bomb. When I asked him what it was, he went on an extremely long rant about iPads and his hatred for Boston locals. Perhaps he was planning to blow up Boston? Or maybe Apple headquarters? Or both? He wouldn’t say.
No offense to cab drivers, but this guy came off as super smart so I’m not entirely sure why he was driving a cab. Regardless, this was by far the most entertaining cab ride I’ve ever had.
If you ever spot #271, hail it down immediately. Even if you aren’t going anywhere, just take a few spins around the block and listen to this guy talk. Because if you enjoy weirdos as much as I do, you definitely won’t be disappointed.

horrible service. The car was in really bad condition. It was Toyota Sienna, the van. All of the possible lights were on, like ABS, oil pressure etc. The cab driver was driving recklessly not even using a seat belt and doing whatever he wanted while driving (writing down some notes on a notepad on his knees).
I am not going to use their service anymore, that’s for sure.

We just moved to SF and had to get across town with a family’s worth of luggage, car seat, etc. We called them at 10am, and before I got a chance to ask the dispatcher to send a larger car he simply said «ok five minutes» and hung up the phone. I was a little suspicious, but used to these kinds of dispatchers in other big cities. They arrived with a Prius at 10:05am, and the courteous driver did his best to pack everything into the small car. He quickly got us where we needed to go and helped with the bags on both ends, so I left him a nice tip. I understand that the quality of taxi services varies greatly depending on who is dispatching and what driver you get, but I’d be happy to try them again.

After nearly getting hit off my motorcycle by one of these cabs I walked up to the driver while he sat in his cab and told him that I didn’t know what was more dispicable, pedophiles or cab drivers. He told me to go fuck myself.
Another time one of their drivers ran a red light, almost hit me again on my motorcycle, and you know you are because it cost you a mirror.
Honestly, I hope this company has a Christmas party and all the drivers and their families get together under one roof and that the place burns down slowly killing everyone inside. In the long run this tragedy would save the lives of hundreds of decent people.

I dont think I could really ask much more from a cab. I called a them around 3pm and they got to my door in 15ish minutes.
The guy was really nice. Picked me up in a Prius and I was at my destination just as fast as it would have taken me to drive.
So yeah. I would use them again.

YOU SUCK BIG TIME, B&W! I waited over an hour and you never showed up. How can you go from great to downright @#$*&% awful in months. Actually, I gave them a 2^nd chance. Two friends and I called about a month ago and waited 30 mins. It was so unusual compared to MY 1^st experience so I called. I was told «okay. we’ll try again.» Finally, they came to pick us up another 20 mins. later. But tonight no one came. Even after I called to rearrange another cab, NO CAB EVER SHOWED. We ended up bribing, blackmailing, threatening my brother to pick us up. I’d give ZERO «0» if Unilocaled allowed it.

I had to get a cab for my co-​worker who was leaving SF to go back to our Detroit office (so Financial district to SFO). I googled and Unilocaled for a good taxi service but each one was with horrid reviews. I called up Black&White cabs and they were very very nice and corteous. Unlike other taxi places that I called before, they took my number to call back and confirm. I ordered the cab for 10:40 AM and at 10:30, I got a call from the driver saying that he was downstairs and waiting (!). His name was Alex and he was also extremely sweet and polite. I highly recommend him and his company. Very professional!
From now on, I will only rely on Black&White checker cabs, there is no other service like it!

Panicked about getting a ride to airport due to all kinds of unreliable reports here. Picked out this company and crossed my fingers. Made an appointment the night before for a 6:30am pick up at my house. Doorbell rang at 6:15am. Driver was ready and would be glad to wait.
My driver, Salim, was congenial to say the least. Very funny man, great conversation and humor and to my destination on time. Will use them again and cheers to Salim.

all cab drivers should be like oleg. really friendly, but not creepy, and quick, but not dangerously so. i was going to meet murr and friends on polk street friday night, but was held up by a traffic jam that was caused by two streets being blocked off for who knows what. oleg turned the meter off at a certain point b/​c he thought it would’ve been too expensive of a trip for such a short distance. he also refused to take a big tip from me.
so, 3 stars. — - 1 star for my previous cabbie, and 5 stars for oleg!

Rudest cab driver EVER– and I lived in NYC for four years. Cab # 1077. If you dont want to drive a cab, then dont. There is truly no need to take it out on you customers!

Here’s my story…
I wave down a cab, he get’s me where I need to go quickly, I get out… and what happens next? The worst thing ever… I leave my PHONE in the car. My phone I’ve only had for like a month bc I lost my last phone… go figure.
What happens next…
I sent my phone a text with my work number, the guy calls my work and tells me he has my phone and I can pick it up at their location. THEN… he calls back a little later and says he was out front with my phone!!! He saved me a trip to pick it up! This to me makes this cab place AMAZING! To the man who returned my phone safe and sound… THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

Loves the Russians
Love the prompt service. Love how they don’t try to eff me over in ridiculous charges and never decline my credit cards (ps taxis would NEVER leave their port if their credit card machine doesn’t work. so dont let them bs you into thinking it just ‘doesn’t work’).
This company always answers their phones– even on Halloween at 3 am. I was impressed. Love the drivers, always very friendly and have always been there for me when my tiny footsies can’t walk after being in 3 inch stilettos all day. Very much appreciated.

My favorite cab company in this city. You call the number and you get a person, not a computer or a recording. They come fast, or if you’re making a reservation, they come on time. This company seems to have mainly Russian drivers.
