Carla does a great job. Came in at the last minute while having a bad hair moment. Couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome of a color and cut.

Ive gone to Carla a couple of times now and I never leave unhappy with the results!
I went in the first time to cut my hair really short, sort of a long A-​Line bob. I RARELY let anyone touch my hair and cutting so much hair off, i was really feeling anxious. But she knew EXACTLY what I wanted and the results were FABULOUS! Not to mention she styles your hair so beautifully and really takes pride in her work.
The second time I made an appointment to start the process to go blonde. (I know, i change my hair so frequently. It could be black one day and blonde the next.) I absolutely was terrified of my hair frying and having split ends. But Carla amazed me by getting it this rich honey caramel in-​between color that it made me keep it instead of going completely blonde ! I was in LOVE ! And it wasnt fried or dry at all. Soft and shiny and had big body to it.
Amazing service, great results, friendly atmosphere and She makes you feel like you’re just kicking back with your bestie and enjoying girl talk. Love her!

Her services are super affordable and she is the nicest person ever, it really makes it more enjoyable and relaxing when your stylist knows how to build a great personal relationship with their clients. Great local salon in the Mission of San Francisco. Located less than a block from the 16^th and Mission bart station, Carla is an extraordinary find. I found her on the Internet and wasn’t sure if she would be able to trim up my very curly hair (I’m black and Puerto Rican). However she surprised me and gave me the best fade I’ve had in years. Very professional, very well priced, great deal all around. Definitely a five star experience.

Carla can hook-​up a nice men’s haircut. I was surprised by the nail shop in the front but she has a quality salon in the back which takes up the other half of the space. I’m guessing it’s good for the ladies as they can come in and get their hair styled and then their nails as well.
Carla is very personable and we had a nice conversation while she washed and conditioned my hair, a nice addition to the regular cut! San Francisco used to be a place where independent people doing outstanding work were noticed in their industries and Carla and her salon fit that mold!

Carla is super nice and does a great job with men’s haircuts. Very reasonable pricing too. Highly recommended!

My regular barbershop was fully booked and I needed a cut for a date later that night. Blackbird Salon was the closest to me and it had good reviews so I went in and Carla hooked a brother up! Thanks for the cut! I think my barber just lost a client. Lol!

Carla does the best mens cuts. Great price for a great cut!!! I highly recommend her, she pays very close attention to detail.

I’ve never been happier as I walked out of Blackbird Salon today! Carla did an amazing job on my hair! Not only that but super fun to chat with and gave me lots of info on how to keep my locks looking beautiful. Normally I’m very skeptical the first time I get my hair cut by someone new but I definitely lucked out! I know I will be back!!!

This review is an official high five to the hair magician at Blackbird. I recently had a «trim» at a hair salon in the financial district. I’d asked [verbatim] «please trim the ends one inch to clean it up any split ends, follow the cut — I’m trying to grow my hair longer»
I left with 4″ less hair length and was now sporting a soccer mom haircut for my brother’s wedding. I booked at a good salon in the mission when I got back from my trip first thing in the morning. It was for next month [perhaps booking in the early morning on BART on your phone isn’t ideal] so I looked around. I found Blackbird and am so glad. She added natural looking fun highlights, blended the helmet ends and added long bangs. I love my hair now and don’t feel like I have a secret mini-​van down the street with stickers all over it. :-)

Carla is a true 415 girl so she knows the ropes of the city and its people. I never knew what texturizing was until I got a haircut from her either. She is very good at what she does and pays close attention to detail. Her salon is lovely and cozy, as well as being reasonably priced! You go girl!

Hair extraordinaire. Carla is a magician and artist. What a hidden Mission gem. Used to go afar to get my cut and color done but now I can stay in the Mish for this too. The color came out perfect and looks natural and healthy. The head massagey was an added and welcome surprise. If you’re a Missionite or live anywhere in SF and are looking for a new hair artist, give Carla a call!

Not only is blackbird Salon an adorable relaxing place to get your hair done, the owner works magic on your hair. I went in to get highlights done and they came out perfect. Carla knows what she is doing, and she is very professional. I also brought my son in for a haircut and both him and I were very pleased with the results. If you want to get your hair done and want amazing results I strongly recommend you try Blackbird Salon :)

It was a total SF serendipity to stumble upon the little hidden gem of Blackbird salon in the Mission yesterday! My usual hair stylist was booked out and with several weddings and summer coming up I knew I wanted to lob off the locks. Happened to just catch the blackbird sidewalk signboard. I have really thick pretty curly hair and have had some just a-​ok haircuts, but Carla was quick to put me at ease. After a super relaxing shampoo and rinse, she asked a few clarifying questions and then proceeded handily to give me a fun, well-​layered new look!
Was shocked to hear that her cute salon is only a month old! Carla’s definitely hit the ground running, or I should say flying! If you want a sure hand, keen eye, and great look, definitely visit Blackbird!
