Blades Co Barber Shop

Been coming here for a few months now since my barber moved to this shop. Nils has been cutting my hair for about 2.5 years now and can’t say enough good things. Never been so loyal to a barber, but haven’t had one as good before.
This place is top notch, great location, great atmosphere, great staff!

I saw the barber sign on my way to work.
Decided to give it a try since I read all the good reviews. They were right! I had an appointment with Susan DArcangelo and she did an awesome job. I have never got so many compliments on a haircut before. My wife loves it which is a bonus for me. .. I highly recommend Susan and this place.

Susan is an extremely talented barber and a very nice person. I’ve gotten haircuts and beard trims from her for years. I’m so happy that she has her own shop now. She deserves it!

I am not much of a review writer, but I am making an exception for this place. I was in SF on business. It was an emergency trip that I had no notice for, so I flew there same day, no preparation. I needed a barbershop and checked Unilocal.This was the number 1 place. I called and they were able to sneak me in. «Uncle Suze», who has been in the business long enough to remember when SF had no barber shops, was excellent. I travel all over, usually just like this trip, so I am often searching for last minute shaves. This place was the best I have experienced, so far. I can’t thank Susan enough. She really knows her way with a straight razor, which is a rare skill. Plenty of people use them, but once you experience her shave, you realize how bad most other barbers are. Great place, fairly priced, you will not find better.

Can’t say enough good things about the experience — walked by Blades on a Sat and decided to make an appointment — I’d been getting my hair cut by work in the Peninsula for the last 4 years. Susan agreed to pencil me in an hour later — she was quick /​efficient and conversational in a truly genuine manner. The cut concluded w/​a hot neck shave and eucalyptus towel — I’d never had this before and goddamn was it great. Very pleased to report I’ll be going to Susan from now on. This is the type of business you promote because its proprietor is doing everything right. Congrats and well done!

Found this place on Unilocal and got the best hair cut and service I ever got at theBay Area!
I had a long beard also they shaved it too cleaned every thing every 3 minutes and covered my face with a warm yet towel with mint! Very refreshing.
I’m coming from Israel where the barbers are very professionals fast and thurough that’s the only place I found in the bay that can match that level;)

After trying out several other barbershops in Oakland and SF, I have found everything I’ve been looking for in Susan and Blades Co. Every time I’ve seen her, it has been the best cut I’ve ever had, and her ability to engage her clients so they aren’t just sitting idly in the chair as she works is second to none. From the vibe of the shop to the pricing of the services, I couldn’t ask for anything more.

Straight forward and to the point. Great place where these guys are doing what they do best and focusing on just that. Quality service and an even better cut — what more do you want? How about being able to book and manage your appointments online? Done.
Pick this place and develop a relationship with your barber so he knows your hair and how to cut it. Book with Nils and you won’t be disappointed. He makes sure you leave happy and keep coming back. You can be chatty or just mellow out and relax when your in Nil’s hands.

Been looking for a no thrills barber shop in FIDI and I guess I found it

Walked in and got a great haircut from Susan. Little did I know she was the owner. Could tell that their focus in this shop is on cutting hair well and enjoying the place in which they work. Relaxed atmosphere; gonna book an appointment on their website the next time I go.

Great cut from Harley. Friendly people, cute shop and reasonable price. I got a close fade, which I felt was super high quality and that’s not easy to find. They also carry good hair products. At the end of your cut, you get a great tea tree oil warm towel over your head and face — so refreshing. I had a great experience and would recommend this shop for anyone looking for a classic cut.

Susan was my barber on this first visit, and was so happy to hear that this place had changed ownership. After walking by this place perhaps a month ago, I was so compelled to try it, but apparently the previous owner was never really able to get it off the ground.
Susan was amazing — and with minimal input, and understanding what I was going for, she gave me the perfect haircut and beard trim. She was also so real as a small business owner, and talked about things that she’s doing to try to improve the customer experience. I wish her nothing but the best, and highly recommend this to folks that are looking for that high-​end barber cut look, without the wallet taking a big hit. Also does a phenomenal job tending to facial hair (beards, straight razor shaves) — the hot shaving cream and eucalyptus hot towels were out of this world!

The best place for a great haircut and smooth shave. If you’re looking for a relaxed, modern, professional place… its Blades and Susan is the one and only barber. Now that I found her, I stopped looking. Book appointments online, pay with your credit card, and they text you reminders so you don’t miss your slot. Walk-​ins welcome, but your best bet is to just use your phone and book it.
Bonus is the location, just a few minutes walk from Montgomery Station.

Great shop! I’ve been getting my hair cut by Dean for the last 8 months and he is great because he’ll tell you what works for your hair and what won’t; he won’t fool you into thinking every cut will work with your head :) Lots of good, friendly conversation too.
The shop is really cute and feels old school but modern at the same time. Highly recommended.

I was treated really well at Blades Co. I walked in and they were able to fit me in between appointments and the cut and conversation were great! Nice shop too!

Susan is hands down the best barber I’ve had in years. I’ve tried most of the highly rated barbers in San Francisco and they just don’t do it as well as Susan, I found her at JP Kempt and when I found out she moved and opened up her new place I had to go find her.
Her new baber shop is really cool and there’s a nice buzz around it — mainly because of Susan’s cool & funny personality! You 100% won’t be let down as she does exactly what you ask for

I followed Susan from People’s Barber to Zip Zap Hair because she is really talented at her job and I always get an amazing cut from her. She also introduces me to products that work well for my hair and style.
I highly recommend her to anyone who needs a solid, reliable barber.

I follow Susan where she goes… there’s nothing else about it. I’ve had Susan cut my hair for about a year and half now and unless she moves out of the city, I won’t be going to anyone else. Not only does she give a damn good haircut, but she is also friendly and funny (and remembers conversations that we’ve had each month I go on).
Prior to finding Susan, it took me about a year of bad haircuts and poor decisions to finally settle and feel good about my hair, to the point where I’ll get compliments. There may be other barbers or salons out there that may be cheaper or give random perks to just coming in, but it’s just not worth the risk if you’ve got someone perfect you’ve found.
