Atmosphere & music were fun & upbeat. Overall the place was pretty clean. Service was super slow. The boba drinks were horrible & tasteless. The only good part was the actual boba jelly :(I have been drinking boba for the past 15 years & this place is at the bottom of my list of places I’ve tried. I would recommend trying another place

I came to this place because I had walked by it one day and thought it looked really cute with some interesting drink combinations.
Today, I went and tried their horchata drink and was very disappointed. First off, it tasted very watered down and didn’t include the strawberry bits that the menu said. Second, the boba had no type of sweetening and made it even more noticeable that the whole drink was lacking flavor. Lastly, the drink itself was $ 4 and some change but it was somewhat of a small size compared to other tea places where their «small» size is a pretty tall cup for the same price and better flavors.
The only thing that was good about this place was the service. The girl that took my order/​gave me my drink was really nice and had no problem when I came back to ask for it to be made sweeter (Second star was for her). I don’t think I’ll be back here though because other people seem to be having similar problems with their drinks so it doesn’t really sound worth it.

This place really depend how they make the drink. The drink can be good and sometime watery. But yes from 1 to 5 is a 3 out of 5. Worker there are always nice and cool chill and relax but. Work harder it can be better. It give a lot of OT and time to be great.

Clean place, small, a bit dark, cool décor, wood fixture with black chalk board kind of cool, small menu with refreshing flavors, however slow service, and not worth $ 5 for a small drink, I might as well stick to quickly

There are some rather unique flavors on this menu, but I think it’s just alright. It’s not something you have to have if you’re in the area. I think what really sells it is the glass mug (really, what is it with these boba places and the glass mugs…)
I have to say that their drinks are incredibly, incredibly sweet. If you have a huge sweet tooth, this place is for you. But I like my milk teas to be a little more tea-​flavored rather than milky/​sugary. It’s also rather expensive for what it is, when you can go somewhere else for better-​tasting boba.
Also – the boba was undercooked. One of my biggest pet peeves.

Had lunch with a teammate close by and he decided to give this place a try! Being an avid boba fan, how can I say no? Today was a nice day out too! Even more of a reason to get boba!
Ambiance of this place was definitely playful! They have a chalkboard that you can draw on if you want to show off your creative side or if you’re just bored like I was and want to doodle. Plenty of seating as well and service was friendly.
I read a couple of reviews with people ordering their boba premium drinks with not-​so-​great results. So I ordered a Thai iced tea to play it safe as well as an order of Eggettes because I haven’t had one in a while. I chose to get the Eggettes plain but they offer either condensed milk, sugar, or chocolate to be drizzled on top.
There was only one person working so the wait time was a little bit longer than usual. Understandable. My Eggettes and drink came out at the same time which is good because most places usually serve the drink first and then the food. I got a mason jar because I needed a way to hold the drink and Eggettes in one hand while I walked back to the office munching on the Eggettes! Tried to screw on the lid but it wouldn’t fit cuz it was bent. No biggie. So I got another one, screwed it on and was on my way back to work.
The mason jar itself was $ 3.50 which is a little steep for holding 16 ounces of liquid. Only saying this because Snow Monster in SoCal sells their mason jars for two dollars and it holds 32 ounces.
Immediately, I dug into the Eggettes (hence, why there is no picture of it) and I was a little bit disappointed. It was super soft and didn’t have too much flavor. Got back to the office and the Thai tea was pretty standard. Nothing special. Was a little watered down but I’m thinking that was probably due to the ice melting. Boba itself was cooked well and was chewy, just how I like it. Shall come back next time to try their boba premium drinks!

Yikes! I hate to give such a low rating at this place, especially they are fairly new in the neighborhood.
My niece and I tried it once before (and that star was for that time). We ordered the Horichata milk tea with boba this time around. Since both of us were full from lunch, we decided to split a cup. We made a big mistake of accepting the cashier’s offer of a pre-​made cup. He told us that it was just made, and asked us if we were willing take it. We took it (paid for it), and even thanked him for the glass cup (they normally charge $ 3).
OH my goodness, when my niece and I took the first sip, we knew it was a bad mistake. We made a face and already knew there was no way we would finish this drink. I even thought of sending it back, but there were customers there. We decided to walk away. Neither of us finished it and both of us are not the type to waste food. Never drank anything so watered down and so tasteless. Some of the bobas were undercooked and hard to chew on. We were thoroughly disappointed by the quality by the drink. Since it’s close by my work place, I might give it another try. But man, I must be reeeaaallly craving for it (and the nearby boba tea are closed).

Walked past it and thought it was such a cute place so decided to give it a try.
Guy at the register is very friendly, and recommended the AMAZONIC (coconut, passionfruit and soursop) with boba. The drink is refreshing and light…
The boba has a nice ‘crunch’ or good amount of chewiness, but come on, I did not ask for a huge «clump» of boba.
If you want the cute reusable glass mug, be prepared to cough out $ 3.50 for it. My drink cost me $ 8 and change… and it did not seem like they filled it up to the top (as mentioned by another Unilocaler)
I would most likely go back and try Horchata, but maybe at a later time when they figure out these kinks.
Service was a bit on the slow side, esp when there were really no other customers ahead of us.
Looked up the business, and seems like they originated from Mexico??? Hence the Asian (boba, Thai Tea, etc), American (Oreos), and Latin (Horchata) flavors.

2.5 stars. The service was awesome. The place is super cute, but the drinks were very disappointing. First of all, where was the rest of my drink? I was so sad that of the three cups I purchased, if I combined the missing drinks in all three cups, I would have had another full drink! For all three drinks, I paid $ 13.49, so I felt ripped off when I saw my drinks were not filled all the way.
Moving on… what I ordered was:
F.A.M tea, this one to me tasted like grass… I mean I can see the avocado chunks, but where was the avocado flavor… I think the green tea over powered the avocado
Next, the guava green tea. Granted I chose the green tea option and guava flavor, this drink basically tasted like a guava Kearns with green tea.
Finally, the milk tea. This to me was the best of the three drinks I purchased. The boba was chewy, so it was fine. The the milk tea could use a little more tea flavor.
My final suggestion is for them to use ice cubes instead of crushed ice because by the time I got back to the office, the ice was already melted and that probably also took away from the flavors.

New boba place in Chinatown. Drinks are $ 4+, and if you want the mason jar +$ 2. I liked the look of the mason jar so I forked over 2 extra dollars. I had the Berry Extreme. Honestly, I feel that I get ripped off getting the jar. It looks like I get less drink than if I didn’t get the jar. The Berry Extreme tastes like an icier Jamba Juice… Just not what I had in mind for a small $ 7 drink… Not going to be back.

This place is uhhhhmazing!
They have some really awesome boba mashups and even have horchata boba (YES YOU READ THAT CORRECTLY!). A cool thing about them is they use only all natural agave syrup for sweetness, which you can decide how much goes in it. They use all natural ingredients, and you can definitely tell by the quality.
The staff is super friendly and definitely kinda hot (no shame), and they hooked it up with some extra boba for my friend.
Give this place a shot, it’s totally awesome!

Walk by when they first opened and decided to give it a try. Bobapioca is not a typical boba place, they offer a small selection of milktea and focuses mainly on fruit drinks/​slushes. They have some seatings in the front and along the wall. They also have charging stations along the wall.
I asked the cashier what was their popular drinks and he recommended AMAZONIC $ 4.50: coconut-​soursop-​passionfruit from the boba premiums menu. You can also add a mason jar for extra $ 2. I decided to give it a try and also they had a promotion 25% egg puff, so I ordered the condensed milk egg puff. I took a few sips of the drink and I couldn’t taste any of the 3 flavors that was suppose to be in the drink. It also tasted really icy and nothing amazing. The egg puff had condensed milk drizzled on top, tasted it and it was really soft and bready inside. Don’t think I’ll be coming back.

If someone asked me where was the worst tasting milk tea I ever tried, it would be here. I wish I was joking or lying but this place ‘wins’ the worst tasting cup of milk tea in my life.
I came here last week and tried the FAM (fresh avocado milk) tea… and I mean it when I said «tried» because I threw the drink away after 5 sips. Yes, that was how bad the drink was. Instead of green like an avocado, the drink was brownish, tasted bitter like straight unsweetened tea and had no avocado taste to it at all.
I hate to give this place a bad review since the cashier was incredibly nice, but I wouldn’t come back here again. But do note that my review only stands for the FAM tea, I’m sure they have other great tasting drinks… but I honestly rather not try.

Came here after an afternoon at the Exploratorium because I saw pictures of cute mason jars on their Unilocal Page. It turns out that those are for purchase only. Is there anyone in the city who actually lugs their boba mason jar around?

Cutely decorated place with unique menu, expensive and OK drinks. It’s conveniently located right in front of the 8x bus stop in Chinatown. I stopped by here yesterday with my sister and we ordered two of the premium menu boba drinks ($ 4.50) + mason jars ($ 2). The total came out to be $ 14+ which was quite hefty for two drinks even in SF. The mason jar idea (add +$ 2 and 15% off next time) is cute and good marketing, but I probably will opt for the regular cups next time. It’s unlikely that I will be carrying the jar around again when I am in the area and happen to want to stop by. It’s a similar concept to buying the glass Plentea bottles.
My sis ordered a chia fresca and I got the acai cocktail both with tapioca included. The drinks came out not looking as pretty as the menu pics. We were both not too excited about the taste of our drinks. She thought the chia fresca wasn’t very sweet and tasted like cherry med. Maybe adding more sugar would have helped. The acai cocktail was okay but nothing to rave about. It tasted a bit bitter toward the end. Both were more on the healthy side though. Next time I come back, I’ll try the sweeter drinks.

I needed to get out of the office and wanted boba. I found Bobapioca by Unilocaling and decided to make the walk out to Kearny and Clay. It was Tuesday, February 9^th, a little after 3pm.
After looking at the menu, I decided to get a Black milk tea, no sweetness, with boba ($ 4.35 total). After walking out of the shop, I took my first sip and though, ewww! What is this?! It tasted like watered down milk with a hint of tea flavor. The boba was just eh. Chewy and kinda soft. I just couldn’t get over how bad the tea was.
The lady at the cash register was super sweet. Really helpful in explaining the menu. I guess you can get as many flavor mixes as you want, but I’m a tea purist, so I opted out of flavoring. Maybe it helps hide how weak the tea is? I guess I don’t understand why they average 4 stars when the tea itself was that bad.
I’d rate this place a 1 for the tea, but I bumped it up to 2 for the customer service.

Walked by here after lunch today. I’m always scoping out new boba places, so I was pretty excited to see one close by work that opened. They have some really interesting flavors, and I ended up choosing TNT because they had a sample out and it looked super pretty. I had it made with almond milk because I needed it to be lactose free.
Cost: $ 4.50 for the drink, and I paid $ 2 extra for the glass mug… I’m a sucker for these mugs. If you bring it back you do get a % off.
Taste: The thai tea portion (bottom orange part) was really delicious. As the top taro melted, it was rather bland and flavorless. I think I would have preferred all of it being the thai tea portion, as it just tasted like ice slushy with boba after all my orange drink disappeared.
Boba: Very chewy and sweet! I approve.
Staff: The cashier and the guy making the drink was awesome and really kind.
Overall: I not bad and would try their other drinks next time or just have a thai tea with almond milk and none of the purple part!

The boba fusion concept is very new and refreshing. The way the drinks were stirred into fresh fruit concept and also the fresh ingredients were great. We had a great time at the place itself where we would even go to have a drink using the wifi. The drinks were authentic enough to see they have mix it the right way. Highly recommend their detox bomb as its healthy and very tasty !

This place is sooo delicious! I was greeted by the cashier when I got to the front of the line. The cashier was very informative about their menu and their recommendations on what to order. I ended ordering the horchata with boba and it was the perfect amount of sweetness. The horchata was one of the best I’ve had. The boba was soft and chewy and not rubbery whatsoever like some other places around here. Another bonus about this place that I found out when I came in was was that that the products they use are organic! HOW COOL IS THAT?!
Bobapioca was pretty crowded when I went in because it was the grand opening but I did see tables and chairs that would make a good place to just hang out with friends. Overall a great place to go to and I will be a returning customer!

This boba fusion shop has potential. The bobas have the right firmness and sweetness. The biggest complaint I have is the crushed ice in the drink. It blocks the boba and also takes up half the cup. 2 sips and you’re done with the drink. I most likely will not return because of low product/​price ratio (& ice) even though the sales guy was really friendly and helpful!

The interior of the shop drew me here. The Asian/​Latin boba drinks will keep me coming back! Strawberry Horchata with boba was amazing!!! Nothing like it in the city

I rarely write review but I felt being tricked. I looked at reviews for this new boba place and felt super excited to try this out. The outcome is extremely disappointed. Cashier was very friendly, but the drink was horrible. What you ordered looked so different from the picture in te menu.
I ordered a FAM milk tea mix. It looked like smoothie and greenish in the picture. When I got my drink, it is just like brown water with tiny little green dot (which was avocado) floating around. I couldnt taste the tea flavor at all. About the boba, the texture was okay. Chewy enough but it has NO FLAVOR at all. Even Quickly has better milk tea.
5 of us went and none of us felt okay about this place. I tried my very best to finished ¹⁄₃ of it, and it ended up in the trash. Absolutely will NOT go back.

Been waiting for this place to open to see what the hype is all about. They are actually having a grand opening on Friday when we were talking to the friendly staffs. They were all very willing to help out in the beginning. When we ordered the boba premium it was within 2 min when the drink was serve. The menu seem different than the normal menu in any boba shop. We were awaiting to see how it turns out. It turns out the drinks are really good and has its own blend of style. They are one of a kind place that really changes the boba drinks into an healthy alternative. Highly recommend as you have to try yourself to see what the hype is all about!

Now this place is different from other boba places on Kearny in that 1) their best drinks aren’t necessarily «tea-​based» (although they do offer tea on their menu), and 2) there’s a Latin influence (and it seems they started in Mexico, of all places. Interesting!)
In any case, I’m a fan! I ordered their horchata ($ 4.50) with additional boba ($ 0.50), and for normal sweetness, it tasted really healthy and refreshing! Boba had an amazing, sweet texture to it, and overall, the drink complimented itself really nicely! Also, for $ 2 extra, you can have it come in a cute mason jar mug with lid AND bring it home with you! If you bring it back, a 15% discount will be taken off your next order.
I would also recommend trying their chia fresca and their Detox Bomb, the latter of which includes an herb called yerbamate, which is supposed to give you that boost the same way caffeine does, only without the jitters afterward!
It’s a little far from the FiDi, but it’s worth the walk if you can make it!

They have wifi! I think I might come here more often to get some work done. Lots of table space. very modern. Great drink selection and friendly staff.

I love the vibe here! It’s clean, modern, and friendly. They have a great and unique menu selection as well as an awesome custom menu. I love the homemade horchatta here and Detox Bomb combo :)

Been to this place twice already and they just had their grand opening (haha). I find this place very welcoming with a cool vibe. Cashier is very nice and seem to know his stuff well. I have tried the detox bomb and acai coktail which I found interesting — I really like the concept of the «healthier» or a twist to the asian tapoica drink. I live and work in chinatown most of my life and this really stand out as different. I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu :)
and the eggettes were definitely a surprise hit! Very soft and with condensed milk and cookie crumb it definitely satisfied the afternoon sweet craving!

I ordered the TNT with the Mason Jar mug which came out to be a little over $ 7. The drink itself was so-​so. It’s a taro-​coconut-​Thai milk slush drink, and it was decent at best. It was easy to taste to coconut but the taro flavor (which was mostly in the ice on top) was basically non-​existent as it had no taste. I waited for a bit so the ice can melt, and it tasted slightly better, but the drink wasn’t as flavorful as I would’ve hoped. Imagine a snow cone with a little bit of syrup on top.
Anyway, I would probably come back in a month or so to see if they’ve improved on their drink-​making. I’m hoping for the best!

Best boba place in town! They use 100% natural fruits, loose leaf brewed teas and organic syrup… The menu also has some cool «healthy» options like the Detox Bomb, F.A.M. (fresh avocado milk) tea and chia fresca! Unique Latin Asian American influence… They also have the option of serving in a glass jar.
Sorry Boba Guys & Plentea… You’ve got some serious competitor now! :D

The place looks really cute! They have charging stations, huge chalkboard and some seatings at this spot.
I’ve tried the acai cocktail, horchata, berry extreme and the TNT drink. I only liked the TNT drink and the rest I’ve tried so far was nothing to rave about.
I don’t think this boba spot specializes in «normal» Asian boba drinks which is fine cuz sometimes different is good!
Also, one of the toppings that you can choose is chia! I’ve never seen that before!
There’s a $ 2 up charge if you wanna order your drink in their labeled mason jar mug. If you bring back the mug, they will take off 15% off your drink next time.
They just basically opened and are extremely slow in getting your order…

Purpose: First stop for the day then off to Black Bark BBQ for media coverage and opening ceremony.
Ambiance: Average size place located within steps of Hilton hotel in the heart of Chinatown. From the outside, its just a small shop located slight behind bus stop kiosk. Driving too fast and you’ll miss it. Inside all newly remodel with filament adjustable studio light, posh chic feel. Counter seating for about eight along with some table and butt hugging contour seat. Retractable crowd control belt from counter to doorway for those who don’t know where the line form. Electronic overhead menu panel and numerous vibrant picture of drinks will dazzled your taste buds. Counter set up with two automatic cup sealer, taper straws, iPad, and snack baskets. Company logo signature mugs place meticulously across wooden wall plank shelving. Environment kinda suited more for a teen than say adults. There’s no entertainment for now, but owner said in the distant future. As far as for Wi-​Fi no mention if there is or not. Not even posted host and password seen. Just bring something with you if you plan on staying longer than ten minutes, it gets boring after that.
Staff: Two person crew running operations for first soft opening day. Cashier guy was cool and know his way around menu. I ask for secret menu he was quick to learn how I know. Alright, I’m not bragging or show-​off, but media people know. Quick easy no hassle transaction conducted as I sat and waited. Asian girl in back doing prep and production work with orders streaming in to her. She seem to know what is expected of her, and her duties. The type to do work without asking questions easy mellow worker.
Cleanliness: Grade A, immaculate not one problem presented while there. Speaking on my terms of what I experience, it maybe different depending on individual taste. Safe-​Serve/​permit certificate posted in public.
Eats/​Drinks: Horchata $ 4.50 plus $ 2 for mug. I wasn’t ask for sweetness level therefore, it resulted in overly sweet. Kind my fault for not looking at menu myself, but still thats their job to ask. Boba were hard with chalky center. Not smooth and slippery as other places up the street. Though, I told them to hold back on chopped strawberries because its not in season, and probably imported, no «thank you»! Horchata itself had hints of rice sediments, but not the kind were sediments rest on bottom. Grainy and chalky tasting small microns just wish it was a little thicker have cinnamon stick than strawberries. I know, I know being too hard them since its soft opening right? Hey, look at it this way. It must be heard or else how will they learn?

Punch Lines: Soft opening, warm service, interesting takes, seats are minimal, discount-(grand opening only), close-​together table, modest cost, drool-​worthy, limited toppings, laid back, calm vibe, can’t go wrong, nothing out of the ordinary, a twist on traditional favorites.
Tradeoffs: Premium boba are just normal drinks with cute mug people will pay extra $ 2. It’s nothing more than a 16oz mason jar that can be had at canning goods shop.
Final Thoughts: In the early months, I thought what a interesting twist to the boba world. Boba with a Mexican twist? Well, today I came thinking that, I’ll get a bobo drink with Mexican twist. Things like mango, watermelon, guava, jicama etc. Hopes of that quickly vanish with disappointment, and heres why? They tout organic syrup being use for those who matters the most (like me). To me, its still syrup from a pump nozzle. So, here we’ve the newest place joining the ranks of boba shops on Kearny street. It’s really nothing mind blowing or that would make you risk a parking ticket just to have. Come if you’re curious about what Pioca is all about, but come with normal boba experience in mind and you’ll be fine. Anymore you’ll be saying «meh»! Btw, the mug is the only thing that is stamp Mexico on bottom of mug. Don’t believe it? Just turn it upside down and see for yourself.
