Environment: It’s like a nice little hangout spot located in one of the Mary’s. I think the chalk wall gives the place a little character and personality when people write quotes, and other such things. Food: The Vermicelli Rice Noodle Bowl with Pork and Peanut Sauce(not listed in the menu) is really delicious. The proportion is about right(depending on who makes it). And I like to get the chocolate chip cookie, in addition to that a caramel macchiato for my meal plan. It’s a good«on the go» meal since I have a 3 hour lab until 8pm. Good for friends: yes, it tends to be sort of empty since it’s on the edge of campus but I usually see a good number of people here and I like to eat and sit in the booths with friends. Also sometimes study since it’s not a noisy environment, usually.

Ever heard the saying, «if it’s not broken, don’t fix it.»? That saying applies here. Those of us SFSU students who have lived in on-campus housing, like myself, know that this place used to be Café in the Park. Sure, Café in the Park had its flaws, but it was a relatively decent place with which to use our mean plans. There was always a variety of different foods you could order and things were prepared in a timely manner. As such, Café in the Park usually had a long line going out the door. Enter BonMi and you have the polar opposite: — No variety(all Vietnamese food — not that I have anything against Vietnam, the Vietnamese or have a dislike for Vietnamese food, but your options for what you can order are limited) — This place seems to be relatively unpopular amongst students. Not only is there never a line, but the place is almost always deserted(save for a few students here and there). The food itself is just okay. I usually get the jasmine rice and quinoa bowl. In spite of the different options of meats and sauces, the food is nowhere near as good as what Café in the Park had to offer. To make matters worse, the smoothies here are all made using an artificial syrup — yuck. 2 stars

Really not that great. Everything is spicy in a mildly unpleasant way. The quinoa bowls are the best thing they have. The skippin’ class smoothie is the best drink.
