No table service in the bar??? What is up with that. The bartender shouts out when your food and drinks are ready. Very disappointed in service. TERRIBLE

The family and I recently spent three days in San Francisco. The main reason we chose SF was the food. We love seafood! This café was BYFAR the worst part of the trip. Bristol’s breakfast was a standard hotel buffet with burnt bacon and soggy potatoes; pretty standard. Its not like we were expecting a great meal being as its a lobby café. Not only was the food below average, the Bristol Buffet costs $ 23 per person!!! I was outraged! The service was good but we will never go back. Terrible.

Try to avoid this Holiday Inn restaurant. Decided to take a chance in here today(just was tired of the rain and we were staying here) with my kids. We thought we were on MTV’s Boiling Point or Food Network’s Chef Wanted — ’cause the dinner service sucked(the weather did too so I was patient tonight). Would have given less than 1 star but manager comped our entire meal, so 1.5 stars. Hostess was late with seating us. We were first to be seated but our orders came out almost an hour late. Our waiter Andy appeared frazzled with shift start and forgot to offer drinks(only water was passed out). Our orders were incredibly wrong. I ordered prime rib medium rare with mashed potatoes. I got back a dry well done steak with fries. My son ordered the sirloin steak well done and received it rare and they forgot his onion rings. Side items were fixed and chicken tenders seem to be the easiest way my son could eat in a timely fashion. I must commend our food server(I did not catch her name). Even though it appeared as if she had an old injury — she was on her A-Game with us. She made sure our sourdough bread and butter was there for my kids, refilled our waters, and was very attentive. She was the only one to offer to investigate with what happened to our food. The manager Sean was called out by our waiter. Sean was apologetic and did his best to make this evening right for us(he reordered my kids meal stat, re-fired his rare steak, boxed it, and of course did not charge us for tonight’s cuisine). If this restaurant wants to improve then an investment is needed to hire a professional to pinpoint problem areas.

Definitely stay away from this one! Rude staff, terrible drinks. The prices would be reasonable if the drinks weren’t tiny and light handed. My drink was supposed to be shaken according to the menu but was poorly blended leaving my tiny cup mostly full of ice. After leaving here disappointed my girlfriend and I made our way down to the Gold Dust Lounge for a much better experience!

So I brought my three kids along with me while traveling on business, I thought I’d take up the«kids eat free» offer by the hotel restaurant downstairs. I don’t know which had less personality, the food or the waiter. The waiter literally walked up to our table and proceeded to ask us what we wanted with no introduction or welcoming phrase whatsoever. His personality was as dry as the Mojave desert. Ordered the buffalo wings, which were just as dry. When we asked for more sauce, he wasn’t shy to tell us that they come frozen and pre-packaged with that amount of sauce. I couldn’t believe we just paid $ 10 for 5 dry skimpy chicken wings. For her main course, my wife ordered the pesto pasta, which was tasteless. He walked up to the table after everyone else had finished their meals and noticed that my wife had barely touched her dish, he made a passing comment about her not being hungry and offered a box for us to take it, but never once asked if it was to her liking. My meal came with a salad, so he told me to go make my own salad at the salad bar, then had the nerve to tack on a mandatory 15% gratuity charge, which was not stated on the restaurant menu anywhere. I would have probably left him a 15% tip anyway, but felt he took that decision away from me and required it. Whatever, I’ll count it as a loss and move on. To make up for the bad dinner, I took my family to the Ghirardelli ice cream parlor down the street, which was unbelievable. Finally, sweet satisfaction.

There was a time when the quality of the nightly seafood buffet in this Holiday Inn dining room was such that it ranked among the better eateries in the Wharf area. Over the years, however, it has deteriorated into a hit-or-miss proposition — there are times when its sins are venial and easily forgiven, others when no amount of penance will make things right. If the fish isn’t fresh, extra seasoning or lots of melted butter won’t disguise its age. Their downward slide has brought them to a level where, with so many outstanding restaurants a brief walk away, there’s no reason to take a chance on this one.
