Where do I even start with this whole experience?! Honestly from the moment I booked the room it was so sketch. I got a text message asking me when I will be arriving for my check in the night before and I was just thinking why would it matter?! If my booking was successful the room should ready and available no matter what time I arrive. Not knowing what kind of «hotel» I was coming to I just arrived and gave it a chance. It was sort of difficult locating this place only because there is no sign outside stating that the building is the«Calista Hotel». For all it looked like was just another door step a homeless person has claimed and pee’d on. We go in and there is no lobby or waiting area! You literally walk in and two steps your standing in front of some creepy looking guy(ANDTHATSIFSOMEONEISFUCKINGTHERE) sitting on a chair and just doesnt welcome you at all. This place lacks customer service &EMPLOYEES! Its like they only had this weirdo behind the small ass glass table for a few hours and he leaves and there is not anyone to come on to the next«shift». It is a damn joke to even walk in this place. Cons: No parking No television(unless you want to pay $ 10 extra dollars and deal with shitty wifi connection and try to sign into a apple account) No employees on location 24 hours a day No trash can Dirty sheets/comforter I can honestly go on and on about how terrible our stay was but I will assume you can understand by now that you should not waste your time even looking into booking a «room» here.

I liked the setup of the room, and the hotel was very quiet. But the check-in process was so ODD. I got a text by some calling service around 5PM asking me what time I planned to check in. When I called the number provided, I spoke to someone who told me he was behind and would be there in 20 minutes. But then I passed by the hotel, and someone was at the front desk able to check me in. The operation feels like some 007 pop-up hotel or something that could vanish overnight if it wanted. It’s a converted SRO still undergoing renovations, which is fine by me. All in all, I had a comfortable stay and would stay again. The rooms desperately need ventilation, and there was no way to turn off the heat from the radiator. But all in all, a pretty nice spot. I hope to stay again!

This hotel is a joke. They told us to check in at 3pm and to call at 2:30 to make sure we were coming. They started texting us at 10pm the night before the reservation. When we got there at 3:15 they said the room was not ready yet and to wait another 30 minutes. The cleaning lady then proceeded to go to lunch while we waited and after 30 minutes of waiting they said it would be another 30 minutes because she was still at lunch. The elevator did not work as someone«got stuck inside earlier in the week». There is no front desk, not even a lobby, just a messy guy sitting at a folding table. He handed us a sloppy sticky note with the combo to get into the hotel and our room. We did not end up staying and got a refund from . DONOTSTAYHERE. I would give it a 0⁄5 if I could.

I used to book a hotel for the first time for my trip to San Francisco. This was my husband and I’s first trip to this city so we were not familiar with neighborhoods or areas around town. It was difficult for me to find any information on this property and I had a bunch of questions that I needed to find the answers to. Frustrated… I contacted where they were able to give me a number to reach out to the Calista Hotel. I then reached out to find out that this was a new property that has only been up and running for a couple of weeks. The person I spoke with gave me a quick run down of the property and was very helpful. Cons: No trashcan No TV access unless you wanted to rent an appleTV for an extra charge of $ 9/day No blowdryer No A/C thermostat(there is a small unit in the corner of room) Water leakage from shower Bathroom rug got soaked from leaking water Room and restroom were relatively small No direct concierge on site(contacted by phone/text) No web site Our stay was for a total of 3 nights. We were tired by the end of our day from running around town and exploring so all we wanted to do was get back and sleep comfortably. I really tried to give this property a chance but just when things got good there was something else we had a complaint about. If this property had reviews or a web site to where i can locate more information, I most likely would not have booked our stay here. We would not rebook with the Calista Hotel due to our experience.
