Captain San Francisco Sailing Charters

We took Josh’s sailing charter for a large birthday party with our friends. I was a bit worried never having met anyone who’d done this trip but the Unilocal reviews were great — and they were right! We were a group of eleven and Josh was super accommodating — we brought our own beer and wine and could play our own music on great speakers. I couldn’t recommend this trip more — the boat is beautiful and Josh was very relaxed and easy to hang out with. We truly had a blast and and couldn’t recommend this trip enough for anyone looking to get an amazing tour of the bay and have a good time.

Josh is a great charter captain and a thoughtful, accommodating host. The booking process was easy, good prices, awesome vessel. We had a super chill time out on the water. Will definitely book again.

I booked a morning sail charter for my father’s 70^th birthday for 7 people, a few weeks in advance that happened to be during Fleet week. Below is a timeline of what happened.
9÷22÷15: Spoke on phone with Captain Josh, gave credit card info to book.
10÷6÷15: Never emailed me directions nor confirmation despite several emails so I called again and he confirmed: «meeting location is pier 1.5 the embarcadero SF, 94 111 behind la mar restaurant, 9−11am.» So all seemed fine.
Day of sail, 10÷10÷15, 8:17am: He EMAILS me this: «I was wondering if we could sail tommorow morning from 930−1130am it’s supposed to sunny and warmer. Thanks josh»
–10 min later I email: «We’re here and waiting at pier 1.5 and ready to go. My cell is …»
–Captain Josh by email: «Sorry we must reschedule to tomorrow morning. I have to deal w a water impeller pump that went bad.»
–I emailed him to cancel completely and he NEVER replied
So I traveled from NY with 2 young children to meet up with my parents in SF with this charter as a special gift and I get an EMAIL just 45 minutes before the appointment with a shady email with all of us waiting at the pier. A celebration turned into a major disappointment.
I know he has 5 stars from everyone else, which is why I booked him.

I was responsible for booking a sunset cruise around San Francisco Bay during a trip to Napa for a friend’s Birthday. We were a large group of 12. I found this charter online and sort of just went with it. I was a bit worried what to expect. But luckily everything went great. Josh is super pleasant and easy going and his dog Brody is just a blast. Some in the group were not dog lovers nevertheless Brody managed to cozy up to them anyway. Sailing around SF Bay is just magical around sunset. Definitely recommend this experience when visiting the area and this charter with Josh and Brody.

Fun experience! Nice boat, tunes and easy process. Pack your own booze. Josh and his dog Broody are sweet and chill.

We had the best sailing trip with Captain Josh and Brody! He is a wonderful host and will make sure that you get to see the best of the bay! Highly recommend going sailing with Captain San Francisco and his team.

I have used this charter several times and and I must say, it is an unforgettable experience! Josh is polite, knowledgeable and very skilled at his craft. His vessel is clean, safe and very comfortable. If you want to experience a different side of San Francisco then this is must!

Captain Josh and Brody were great hosts for our boat ride. Was a great day and a great experience. Would definitely go back out with them again!

Out with friends and decided to go with Captain Josh instead of going on a huge boat. Abbey, Brody were great. Wine, water, snacks were all included. Took a bunch of pictures and went to the front of the boat as well. Everything was great.

Captain Josh is excellent. We went on a 2 hour sunset cruise for my wife’s Birthday, and we hired Josh’s friend Abbey to join us and take photos. It was a wonderful trip. Josh’s dog Brody was a lot of fun too. (Full of energy and adorable). I highly recommend Captain San Francisco. Abbey was a great photographer too, and really nice to talk to. It was well worth it and makes for a really special outing.

Got the boat with some buddies. Josh is awesome and was the 7^th member of our squad for an afternoon. Good times.

We booked a cruise with Josh for my daughter’s birthday and had a great time. He showed us a great view of the city as well at the McCovey Cove during a Giants game. We loved the peace of sailing through the bay with an unmatched view. I would highly recommend!

Josh showed my family a great time. Boat was awesome, he had extra layers when it was cold, and provided great knowledge on the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. Would recommend him anytime.

Cap’n Josh was exactly what we were looking for. He was flexible, personable, and let me sail his beautiful 43ft Jeaneau on the bay. We had been on all the tours of the city and were looking for something personal, intimate and unique, that’s exactly what he delivered. Thank you Cap’n Josh!

Josh is an amazing captain who provided my fiancé and I with an unforgettable experience! He is extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. His boat is absolutely gorgeous and he makes you feel so welcome!
When we first got onto his boat, he offered us water, drinks, wine, whatever we needed. He was extremely welcoming and accommodating. We sailed through Fisherman’s Wharf, to the Golden Gate Bridge, and onto Angel Island. It was an absolutely gorgeous day and Captain Josh’s company made it even better!

I was looking for something to do with my girlfriend for July 4^th weekend and came across Captain San Francisco on living social. I decided to give Captain Josh a call to check his availability. Josh recommended that we reserve a private package which can accommodate up to six people.
I got two other couples to join us and between the six of us, the price was pretty reasonable. Josh allowed us to bring our own food and drinks on board (no red wine due to staining) and also provided us with a large bottle of wine.
We met Josh at pier 1 and he quickly got us on his boat and explained the safety procedures and rules. He had an auxiliary cable for us to play our own music. Josh was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. We polished down our drinks and food while cruising around on a sunny Sunday afternoon. It was very relaxing and damn near therapeutic.
Everyone in my party had a great experience. We are looking forward to hitting the water again some time soon and I have recommended Captain San Francisco to some of my friends.

Captain Josh was so fun! The weather was beautiful. The boat is beautiful (and safe). We went out from 1−5pm. Stopped at Angel Island and enjoyed lunch. We had two people with us that normally get sea sick, however, they were both fine even on the slightly choppy bay water.
It was nice to go out on the Bay with a Captain who had personality. He was interactive, joked around and we loved learning about his past adventures and future sailing adventures. Great having a San Francisco local to guide us.
Would highly recommend for a family outing, romantic trip (he does B&B trips) or corporate outings.
