Charanga is best known for a fusion of various latin flavors with a hint of asian influence. Our menu is drawn from many regions and we specialize in Bocas (Tapas) style service. We strive to purchase from locally grown/owned produce and purveyors.
History
Established in 1998.
Chef Gabriela Salas hails from Costa Rica and has been cooking in the Bay Area for over twenty-five years, serving as chef at Cha Cha Cha for nine years, and with briefer stints at the Avenue Grill, Firefly and Don Giovanni.
Meet the Manager

Manager
Throughout her 18 years in publishing she gained experience producing a variety of events from cocktail receptions to large-scale corporate sponsored functions. While working in Dallas under the direction of Chef Guthrie she realized her passion for the culinary arts, this led her to San Francisco to pursue her degree. Upon graduation she had the privilege of advancing her skills under the direction of Chef Loretta Keller and Chef Jennifer Biesty at Coco 500. She then started her own catering company which eventually lead her to the kitchen at Charanga. After a year of working both back/front of house, she was promoted to Manager, host, waitress, bartender and dishwasher.
