Chinese for Affirmative Action is a 501©(3) nonprofit organization that was founded in 1969 to protect the civil and political rights of Chinese Americans and to advance multiracial democracy in the United States. Today, CAA is a progressive voice in and on behalf of the broader Asian and Pacific American community. We advocate for systemic change that protects immigrant rights, promotes language diversity, and remedies racial injustice.

Founded in 1969 by a group of young activists, CAA has a proud history of achieving social change. For over forty years CAA has challenged social norms to advance equality, created coalitions that bridge traditional boundaries, and prioritized the needs of our community’s most marginalized. Our civil rights leadership encompasses four decades of achievement.
