Over time, I have worked with numerous agencies, not just in the Bay Area. You should consider
it a great privilege to work with Alyce and her lovely assistant, Ahava. I guess until you’ve worked with an agency that really just wants to close a deal, at almost any cost, and will stretch the truth, in many ways to do so, you you really don’t know the difference. Making a true match takes time, patience and 1^st and foremost, someone that listens, hears, and then follows through with clear communication. It sounds basic, but is so often not the standard. Like I said, many agency owners are so interested in just closing the next deal, they don’t operate in a way that truly facilitates the best match possible with positive, long-​term relationships for everyone. Alyce is a pro and sees the big picture, her long-​term experience and true professionalism works to the advantage of all parties involved. I have seen many agency owners operate first-​hand, and the dynamic from which Alyce operates Chirp definitely puts her in the category of the best of the best.

I have three children and have worked with all the main childcare agencies in the Bay Area. Last year, I was referred to Alyce and Chirp. It was stunning the difference in her professional approach to finding the ideal fit for both families and nannies. I was amazed at her counsel as, sometimes, she advised me in ways that weren’t beneficial to her business or to «closing a deal.» Her advice has been consistently sound and measured. She also brings up issues and concerns that have not occurred to me. She has a gentle touch, a calm manner and a poise that is singular to this industry. She has an abundance of grace, too. I heartily recommend Alyce and Chirp.

I have known Alyce for nearly 10 years (since 2005). Her life’s work is connecting families and children with the best nannies the Bay has to offer. I have worked with other nanny and staffing agencies in the past, but nobody is committed to this work the way Alyce is. HEART and SOUL. Alyce also holds regular classes for nannies where they can receive career coaching on the areas of: financial planning for nannies, communication, projects to do and make with children, etc. I have attended these and every time I attend, I walk away with new insight and gains in personal improvement. Her classes are highly recommended to anyone who is a nanny — even if you haven’t been placed into your family through Alyce — these classes are worth it! I can’t say enough great things about Alyce. In short, I am a big big fan of her, her work, and the ways she has helped me succeed as a nanny and caretaker for the past 10 years.

Chirp has been my go-​to nanny agency for many years. Alyce’s personal attention and insight has been the impetus for three nanny positions with truly wonderful families. Alyce has a great eye for what relationships will work in the long run, and I have appreciated her continued support in so many ways. Her continuing education series for Nannies is brilliant, and she and Ahava do a fabulous job crafting brief but powerful evenings for the entire bay area nanny community to come together and learn from both experts and one another. I highly recommend Chirp and after these many years consider Alyce a great supporter and friend!

Alyce is a warm, friendly person who is both personable and professional. As an elementary educator, I met with her to discuss options working as a nanny, and she was a font of information about the industry overall and the local market, and also had some suggestions for other employment that she felt would be a good fit for me given my background.
Although I ultimately did not find a position through Alyce, I did meet with several of her clients to interview– I was pleasantly surprised by the parents and families I met with, and am confident that Alyce found a nanny that was a better fit for them personally (spoke additional languages, lived closer, etc).
Alyce kept me fully informed of prospective clients to meet with as well as full background information on each family I interviewed with– I was never blindsided by health information about a child or peculiar family quirks or requests, Alyce had it handled and was straightforward and upfront from the get-​go.
Additionally, she does the same for her clients: by the time a face-​to-​face interview takes place, the client already knows my general background and has a copy of my application, resume, certifications, and even a handy headshot, all conveniently clipped to a Chirp clipboard to reference over the course of the interview.
Definitely had a pleasant experience meeting with Alyce and meeting the various families and their children, but have opted to stay within the education field. Would recommend seeking her out not only to other aspiring nannies but to families who are looking for a childcare professional.

Alyce is so easy to talk to and makes you feel so comfortable in such a stressful situation. She has been amazing to work with over the past 10 years as our family’s life has changed. From full time nannies at the very beginning when I was working, to part-​time help now while I am at home with my 3 kids, she always finds me the best person for the job. Alyce always listens to all of my babbling, and finds someone who will work so smoothly with our family. Because she has done this for so long she has all the questions ready for each interview with an applicant, forms and paper work lined up (including CPR, DMV and background check), so you don’t have to think of anything besides choosing between some very qualified people. She’s always available to talk it out with me and is so patient. Alyce is my go to person for child care.

Alyce offers a comprehensive Nanny service with a warmness that makes you feel comfortable and confident in her abilities — which are many. Sure she has written two books, gives workshops, is very knowledgeable in the law, has an extensive network of Nannys with many skills and can help with placement like all the rest, but Alyce really listens.
This means that when she sits down with you, she doesn’t just hear your questions, list of requirements and concerns; she reads between the lines for those you didn’t know you were thinking about. This skill is the one that makes a difference from all the others and in the end assists you in arriving at a complete picture of what kind of person you want caring for your children. It also means you are given a list of Nanny’s to interview that is targeted to meet your needs, not a catch all list.
After placement, Alyce is also there if you do have a difference of opinion with your Nanny (and who doesn’t, it is a fact of life when you live with someone.) She will help you clarify these differences or misunderstandings with the nanny and come to a resolution or «aha!» moment that makes sense to everyone.
Finally, Alyce’s knowledge and database coupled with her listening skills before and after placement, means no nanny turnover to disrupt your lives and more importantly your children’s. Continuity with the right person is her gift to your family. I highly recommend Alyce to all my friends and colleagues looking for a Nanny.
