I found this spot on Unilocal and it lived up to the 5 star rating. John and his staff were very helpful and answered all of my questions regarding different car alarms. They were honest and helped me find the best alarm for my car. Great work!!!

Came in since my car radio stopped working. He said all he had to do was reboot or reseat the system. Very trustful, didn’t try to sell me on a new system, just fixed it!

Make sure to call ahead; I’ve turned up here at 9:40 twice only to be met by locked doors.

This place is the real deal and John is as patient as they come. I had so many questions and was unsure about what would work in my truck and he answered all my questions and gave my his opinion even though it wasn’t in the best interest of his wallet. John gave me all my options and did so with patience and a smile. I ended up leaving with a few hundred dollars less in my pocket but very pleased with the outcome. These guys deserve your business!

After much deliberation, & consideration of 3 shops I’d found on Unilocal,I was excited I had (thought I’d) made a decision to go with City Car. That changed, & here’s why;
I called this morning, about an hour after they opened, & nobody answered the phone. After several rings, I got some message telling me to enter my passcode.
I called back an hour later, (not sure of the guy’s name who answered) & advised him my car model/​year & the stereo choice. He quoted me $ 300-​$ 400. For an INSTALL? Seriously?
Because of my car’s age, he said «parts ere brittle, & we need to run the cable to the back end». Uh… I’m sorry… have you seen my car? It’s actually in mint condition. I even explained its not the stock stereo, & the bezel had been replaced.
But then he said, «In today’s world of customers ‘penny-​pinching’ (thanks for the insulting ASSumption!), we may have to clean up the previous installer’s work.» THEN, «We actually reserve the right to stop work mid-​way if it’s too difficult, & call the customer to come pick up the car.»
It’s almost as if the guy didn’t want the business!
Each of his excuses were met with a true & valid answer, & he shot them down one at a time. With adding a $ 400 price tag.
I don’t care if you replace ALL the stereo components. It wouldn’t take 3 – 4 hours of work, & I sure as HELL ain’t gonna pay you $ 100/​hour for a straight forward car stereo install!

Have a Scion FR-​S which is a good drivers car but has the the acoustic quality of a tin can. The guys at City Car Radio did a great job sound deadening it so I can enjoy my music. Also fixed a hard to to find broken cable that has plagued me with intermittent audio cutout. Great to see an honest workshop in this otherwise over-​gentrified city.

John and Taylor helped me figure out which system was the best bang for my buck. I strongly suggest going to these guys for your car audio needs. Unlike most other shady audio shops, these guys know what they are doing. They are honest with you and aren’t just trying to empty out your wallet. My car was done in no time and the products I got were installed with excellent craftsmanship. My car audio is BANGING now, thanks to these guys. I’ll definitely be coming back & referring my friends to these guys as long as they are in business.

Had a great experience at this shop. Had some speakers and a powered sub installed. Very professional, clean install. Sounds great. Went back a couple weeks later and had an amp installed. Also great install and great sound. There was an issue with one of the door panels on the initial reinstall, and the owner addressed it professionally and quickly. They bend over backwards to provide great service here. I’ll go back for my next car stereo or electronics need.

John took a lot of time to discuss various options with me, and give me his thoughts on my original plans. He comes across as very honest and genuine, which can be rare in car audio shops. He definitely has a passion for what he does.
I ended up buying my products separately, and John and his team did an excellent job of installing it all. The install is very clean, and professionally done. He met everything I asked for, and even threw in a nice amount of sound deadening no charge! The overall price was more than fair.
I’ll be coming back to get the rest of my system done eventually!

Everything about my experience with City Car Radio was five stars. I came to them through their awesome Unilocal reviews, and I wasn’t disappointed! John was able to get my car in for work the day after I called him, and the price he quoted me for services was fair and reasonable. Once my new stereo was installed (which only took two hours!), John walked me through all the ins and outs of using it. He also threw in a free cable I needed, cause he’s cool like that. Take your car here!

Got a Pioneer Car receiver for my Sentra and I’m loving it! The people there are professional and friendly. They will work with you with prices to provide you with the best system. Also they will take their time showing you a demo of your new system! I love my new system and I would absolutely recommend City Car Radio!

I had a parking sensors and rear view camera installed by some man in the city for an Audi TTS, it turned out the hole system not working. After tons of research on Unilocal,I ended up to the City Car Radio. They were so nice. Got my sensors and camera working. Been told to the shop owner John, he was such a nice guy as well as his men. Highly recommended. Don’t do it cheap, they know what they are doing.

~6 months ago I brought an old sub and amp I had laying around to get reinstalled in my new SUV. They were about to close and wanted me business and ended up staying open to quickly install it since I already had an aftermarket stereo and only needed the wiring run really. These guys were friendly helpful and did a great job for a fair price.
Then last month, I had them replace my blown HID setup. Within a few days they had my kit ordered, and dropped off my car. The younger guy sounded pretty confident that he could make my headlight look like new again (the were pretty yellow). When I came back to pick up my car, my headlights were done and the housings looked like they just went to the dealer and bought new ones. I couldn’t believe how gorgeous revived headlights could look. My front end looks new, almost too new. they did a fantastic job and highly recommend this shop as the only one to visit. They earned a repeat customer for sure.

Got my new mid, mid-​life crisis car and decided to really do it up with the newest Blackvue camera and Escort radar set up. Since the car is leased (next crisis relief is in three years.), I wanted to make sure that the install is as close to legal («Please take your license out of the plastic Mr. Lee.»), and that there are no holes drilled and a professional and subtle installation was done.
Coach Jeff W. recommended me to John as one of the last real craftsmen in this field. Since Coach defined and grew the old Custom Car Alarm business in the 1980’s. He would know. He is spot on!
I expected to see an old dinosaur, but lo and behold, the guy looked pretty young to me. John is honest, straightforward, and reasonable. So honest and knowledgeable, that If he charged for a consult, I would pay!
Workmanship is spot on with the most pristine install job I have seen. Lawrence, the Technician who worked on my car, is a master at professionally placing all of the wires away and tight in the interior of the panels and placing it back so it seems and looks like it was a factory install. On top of that, The battery regulator and other parts were not drilled but securely fastened onto the surfaces for a clean, transportable system when and if I turn in the car!
Anybody can slap together accessories with suction cups and tape, but a real classy car deserves a professional install with no dangling wires and cables!
I feel safe, slick, and a little like James Bond when I drive my favorite car.
Since writing this review has got me salivating to drive, I gotta go!
Next up is my wife’s car!

Most friendly (important) and DO a great job… fixed the job of another high end shop, wish I would have brought it here first. I will bring my next projects to them in the future :)

City Car Radio rocks!!! I went there last week to install a pretty simple deck they quoted me a very reasonable price. However they didn’t realize I had the stock infinity setup which requires some totally differnt install techniques as well as a new amplifier. The owner felt so bad by not quoting me right the first time are majority of the labor as well as lowering the price of the components. I cannot say enough great things about this shop, great install, great people and great products!!!

I’m usually skeptical about reviews on Unilocal,but John and his team at City Car Radio lived up to their five-​star reviews.
Not only did John give me clear information over the phone and a price, but when I came into his shop the next day, the entire process went exactly as he said it would be. There were no needless up-​sells, no surprising price changes, and he had complete knowledge of his products.
John told me my car would be ready at 2pm, and it was. Then, John explained clearly how my new equipment works. He did not rush me through. Instead, he made me feel like a client likes to feel – important.

Definitely a 5 star place. I’ve been coming here for over 4 years now and they have done everything from stereos, to alarms, to door locks for me. The over qualified installers have never messed up on any of my cars and I haven’t had any problems with my equipment yet.
The owner, John, very polite and extremely helpful. He knows his stuff and he’s always looking out for your best interest. He’s the kind of guy that won’t nickel and dime you. Don’t think I’ve ever had a bad experience with him or any of the installers.
I would definitely recommend coming here to get something done. You won’t be disappointed.
