This neighborhood shop is awesome. I had a question as to whether or not my bike saddle was properly adjusted, Damion said to bring it over and they would look at. I go in and sure enough they looked at the bike saddle and saw that it was not level and made a couple of adjustments to level it. In and out in about 15 minutes, now the bike rides a lot better. Great customer service! Thank you Damion.

Lost the front nut to bolt my front wheel on near crissy field, and after walking around the marina and hitting 4 other bike shops the employees at city cycle had the peice installed it and was nice enough to tighten up and adjust my brakes. Keep up the good work and thanks again!

I had a wonderful experience purchasing my first road bike. The staff are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeably. I would recommend this place to others. I felt like I was being taken care of by family. Thank you all for the great service!

This is the shop down the street from my house and I am sure glad it is. The guys here are super knowledgeable and helpful. I have stopped in many times to just pick up this or that or simply to ask questions. They have on multiple times helped out for free with minor things like lost cadence sensors or loaning a tool for a jammed pedal.
After about a thousand or so miles ridden I took my bike in to potentially replace the seat on my Emonda for something more comfortable and the guys there recommended a quick fit instead, which I am glad I did (post aero bar retweaks on my part). Had them do a tune as well and just put down a nice 50 miler and the bike has never felt so good.
Highly recommend them for any cycling needs (especially for Trek riders).

Let me first explain that my family has been in this neighborhood for over 80 years and I still live on the same block me mother and father grew up on. Today, I went to City Cycle to look at purchasing a mountain bike to ride with my Cousin and Brother-​in-​law. I enjoyed the experience at City Cycle and it looked like they had a good deal on a very nice bike. Like a good consumer, I decided to go see what a couple other bike shops were offering and me and my friend went to Contrada. We were being helped by a sales associate because they do not have any full suspension bikes in the shop. We were then approached by another sales associate who asked us if we were just at City Cycle. I said we were and he became upset and visibly mad and asked us to leave. I asked him why and he said over an incident at City Cycle. I attempted to explain to him that we did not have an incident at City Cycle that we were shopping around and all he kept saying was, «I’m asking you to leave.» We returned to City Cycle and asked why we were treated so bad and asked to leave Contrada and they associate who helped us there said he just called up there to tell them we were looking for a good deal. I do not know who is playing who or why this hostility but you both just lost a customer who was ready to spend $ 3,000 on a bike and equipment. Clean it up boys, we can all get along, even without my business.

Justin and Tom work at City Cycle and have always been very welcoming and cool when I ask ridiculous questions. As an amateur cyclist having them as trusted consultants is worth it’s weight in gold. City Cycle will make sure you roll out with the best set up based off each unique and individual scenario. The spectrum in which they are willing to help and be patient is great, everything from recommendations on chammy butter and bibs to tuning up my previously crappy bike and helping me finally find the right high performance bike.
They even help the Soul Cycle girls. The team and products are top notch.

I will go out of my way to go to this store after the service they provided. All staff I have encountered have been kind, helpful and caring; Clayton especially. Highly recommend this store.

I really wanted to like this shop as they are the closest authorized Trek dealer for my Remedy 8. However, it’s hard to believe that my experience was just a fluke considering how many ways in which things went wrong.
It took 2 trips and several phone calls to determine whether or not they could service the bike and bill Trek using my Trek Red Shield coverage. They proceeded to take over a month to do a full tune, replace the chain and a few other minor parts. I was so anxious to get the bike back that I threw my credit card down when picking the bike up without reviewing the charges. Upon further inspection I realized I had paid in full regardless of the amount of time both I and the shop had spent determining that they could charge Trek for the repairs.
I eventually got a partial refund for the chain and a few other parts but was told that «labor is not covered» despite the following excerpt from the Trek red shield agreement:
«We agree to repair or replace the Covered Product in the event it is rendered inoperable due to defects in materials or workmanship or mechanical breakdowns experienced as a result of normal wear and tear, subject to the terms and conditions listed herein, for the Term indicated on Your Proof of Purchase. In this event, we agree to provide the labor and parts necessary to restore Your Covered Product to normal operating condition. Repair or replacement of a Covered Product is your sole remedy under this Plan.»
After all of that, the work done on the bike was pretty poor. Cables and the rear cassette needed replacing, the dérailleur wasn’t dialed, etc.

Bought a bike at City Cycles a few months ago. Very helpful staff and no pressure to buy. I would highly recommend them.

These guys are so great, been going there a year or so as i’ve gotten more and more into cycling. Super laid back, knowledgable and fun to chat with.

Great staff. Very helpful. Clayton not only fixed my issue but explained what I did wrong and how to prevent moving forward. Very reasonably priced too. I would definitely recommend this placed.

I really like this place because they have super high quality inventory that you may not necessarily find in most places in SF. With that said, it does tend to be on the expensive side and the service is kind of geared to cater to money. All in all, it’s a safe bet if you’re looking for quality.

City Cycle has been my primary bike shop since early 2014 and they’ve been great. Justin has helped me through various upgrades and repairs on my Trek Domane since I started getting serious about road biking last year. They’re quick to respond to email and have been great at repairing all the problems that I’ve encountered whilst putting the first 5,000 on the Domane. Clayton has done an expert job performaning repairs and maintenance work. And, everyone else on staff there has been exceptional. I will definitely buy my next road bike from CC in the near future.

Solid bicycle work.
I could not be happier with my Trek bicycle! They didn’t have my dream bicycle in their stores. They did have the next best thing, where I can order it online and have it shipped and built at their store for pickup. I have the bike for over 2 months now and it is holding up well. Usually there is a settling period where the gears might need to be adjusted. Not with this bike. I’ve lost 10 pounds riding every Sunday for about an hour without a change in my diet. Thanks City Cycle! Very good service and workmanship for the price.

After over a year with these guys I’m changing my review from five to two stars.
After a tune-​up my bike was screwed up. I’m not going to go into details because I might still working with the guys on this issue. The situation could have been avoided with more attention to detail.
So far the issue has required me to Über from Marin, and on a separate trip do on the fly repairs to the bike.
As I sit here now, in my apartment, my hands covered in grease, I am pi**ed. My bike was near perfect when I brought it in, just the usual tune-​up, and now all these issues. The whole reason I paid over $ 200 for a tune-​up is so that I could ride and go and forget.
Also, the Bontrager parts are of poor quality. The tires are horrid. Just look at a pair of continentals as compared to their cheap brand and you’ll see the difference immediately.
The Trek I bought had vibration issues on the front forks as well. I’ve ignored this issue but as I write this the issue becomes more magnified. I wish, in the end, I’d gone elsewhere.

Nice bike selection.
But if you look for anything else like clothes or socks, there is nothing to choose from.
When there is nothing to shop in the stores, the ony option is to go for internet and thats a shame.

I have brought in 4 different bikes over the years from a $$$$ mountain bike, to a $ 140 project bike. Every time they are straight forward, eager to help, fast, and friendly.
They have found obscure parts in bins and done things on the spot that other shops would require a week or more to do.
Professional work, casual attitude, serious knowledge, and able to work on everything from your semi-​pro ride to your city bruiser with no hesitation.

Anson & Sal helped me get fit & put together the right components for my Seven Axiom SL build, without going overboard on budget. Knowledgable & passionate about riding, I can’t recommend them enough.
