History

Established in 2008.

Cole Valley Antiques was established by two good friends and business partners, Jerome Emerson and Angie Petitt-​Taylor in 2008. Located around the corner from the heart of Cole Valley, it is just a short stroll from Zazies, La Boulange, Say Cheese, Bambinos and Los Padrecitos.

Are you a middle aged woman with disposable income?
Then run, don’t walk, to this place. You’ll love it. As for me (not their target demographic) it was a little out of my price range, especially as I’m not into old dishware and what not.

I absolutely love shopping at this little store. Exceptionally kind owners that love what they do and it shows. I have never walked out empty handed and today was no exception. A great place for wedding gifts (milk glass candle sticks, champagne buckets) or birthday presents for my boyfriend (flasks, cufflinks, vintage prints). I especially love treating myself to a piece of jewelry, some silk gloves, or a set of depression glassware just for fun. As a kid, I always loved a good treasure hunt and this fills the void!

My friend and I saw a sign at the corner of Cole and Parnassus pointing to Cole Valley Antiques. She likes antique stores so we decided to go take a look. I discovered that they have a pretty sizeable collection of $ 1 antique postcards, such as holiday postcards and European postcards. I flipped through ¼ of the box and discovered a nice black and white postcard of DC’s cherry blossoms in bloom. Perfect as I love cherry blossoms!

I have never been to an antique store before, but i would say this was a good first experience. I was immediately mesmerized by the silver tea set at the window and a 1920s hat that adorned a victorian chair.
The items inside where interesting and very unique.
There was a victoria desk that had these hidden compartments and a rolling tea cart that immediately caught my eye. If I had a better paying job, I would buy these great pieces of furniture, but since I don’t, I guess I’m better off looking for now.
Great little place to spend an afternoon break!
