Always have what I need and always a good conversation! Prices are extremely fair and the beer selection is best in the area.

Went in tonight to get some Cool Whip. They had about 8 containers and every single one expired January 2014!!! OVER ONE YEAR AGO. So disgusting. I told the 3 workers standing around talking on my way out and they didn’t seem to care at all. Be careful when shopping here and definitely check the expirations!

I rated them low before and now I go there more often. I guess four years living in the same neighborhood changed my idea on this place.

I’ve lived here for 3 years and every 6 months or so I make the mistake of trying it again.
The owner is awful. Last time he was rude to me than hit on my girlfriend. Disrespectful! Now at least I’ll remember not to go back.
Go anywhere else if you can. The place a block up Bush street is awesome.

My go-​to corner store. Convenient location. Great selection of liquor and snacks. What more could you ask for!

Disgusted! Wow!!! Never been treated so rudely by a business owner. I walk in, walk around, I’m looking for spinach, naturally going through the isles, he yells at me «Go on get out of here with your walking around» I looked at him and said, «excuse me?» Bitter old man!

The owner is a total asshole. Always in a bad mood and really rude. The prices for everything in there is also way overpriced. Once I went in asked to break a $ 20 bill (cutting me off before I could finish asking) and judging from my empty laundry bag in hand he grumpily said to go across the street and that he has no change. I just needed a single bill not quarters – jerk! I would’ve been willing to buy something too but his attitude turned me off.
Do yourself a favor and walk half a block down bush to Bush Market instead. I go there all the time even tho it’s a little further from my apartment. The guys there are extremely friendly and their market had a wide selection with reasonable prices.

If you need a laugh, go ask these guys for the prices on their liquor. Totally absurd! (Then walk 50 feet down the block and pay something reasonable.) $ 60 for a 750 of Knob Creek? $ 40 for Bulleit? Guys, seriously. This is a prank, right?

Wish I could give them a lower rating. Prices aren’t necessarily the issue, the people and their attitude is. Cross the street in any direction and find a better place to buy stuff in the neighborhood.

Truly the Best Overly Priced Convenience Store anyone could ever ask for!

If I could give a negative star I would. I went to return a can opener that I had just bought and was broken the disgustingly rude man (if you can call him that) threw the can opener at us and yelled profanities. I have never been treated like that in my life and I am a newyorker.

I live in the neighborhood and NEVER go to this place. You expect small, local places to be expensive but this place just gouges. Shelves are empty and stock seems like it’s been around quite awhile so I suspect they aren’t doing well but places in this part of town can often survive on the tourists. I don’t know the owner or if he’s a jerk or not but I know the day guy and he’s nice but still won’t go here.

Extra props for friendly service, late hours, and taking debit cards at an average corner market.
Prices are high but what you’d expect out of a convenience store. Probably would avoid the store if I was a local, but for someone like me who was in a hurry and needed to grab an energy bar because he knew he was going to skip dinner, it fit the bill just fine. It’s called «convenience» for a reason, I suppose!

They get points because they are open later than some of the other grocers in the neighborhood. But, they lose serious points because they gouge on their prices. Just because they know they are open later than Food Fair, E&E Fine Foods, and J&W Market, they charge more. I do not like gougers. They are just not he kind of folks you want to share a fox hole with.
Other than that, it is a decent local market that stays open later than some others. It has the basics and that is it.

Louie is the best store owner in that whole area. I love going in there selling him Red Bull and reading all his magazines while he makes me laugh.

I find it interesting that so many people are giving this place 5 stars for the owner being grumpy. You see a memorable, neighborhood-​enhancing character in this grumpy liquor store owner. I see a guy who can be an asshole about breaking bills. Most recently I tried to break a 10 to buy a $ 2 lottery ticket and he wouldn’t do it. Maybe he could tell I just needed to break the bill to get change for the laundromat across the street, but still, who doesn’t want to make the $ 2?
It’s open late, which is good, but so is Bush Market, less than 200 feet away, which has better selection and nicer owners. I think the only thing Cottage Market offers that Bush Market doesn’t is lottery tickets. And attitude. How does that merit 4 stars?

I came in to buy a pack of gum and a bottle of water. After being disappointed by their gum selection, I grabbed a bottle of Crystal Geyser and put it on the counter. He rang it in as $ 1, and I opened my wallet to find only 2 twenties. I put one on the counter and apologized for the large bill, but he said gruffly «I don’t have enough change. I can’t help you.» He grabbed the bottled water, as I stood there in shock.
I *so* won’t be back.

Close and near by, Louie is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet– however the prices seem to be a little over priced– 6 dollars for a frozen dinner?
I would recommend Mayflower Market over this place but good because it’s open late

This is a pretty great convenient store and if you live nearby, the best place to buy booze on your way home from the bar – if you can make it by 2 a.m.
And if you’re drunk, they have an awesome selection of frozen crap to pop in your microwave when you get home – and pass out and totally forget about what you put in the microwave and open it a day later and ask yourself why you ever though Mac and Beef was a good late night snack.

Okay So I live two and a half blocks away from Cottage Market. And their price of milk to wine and beer is sso reasonable to the point of where thier smokes are priced less. And the counter person is ALWAYS nice with a smile and they are open til 2am.
And they are right across the street from Jasmie’s Café… FYI
