CoverHound

After getting my first car here in the states, I was looking for an insurance provider for myself and the car. I asked among my friends for any recommendations for a provider, and one directed me to CoverHound.
My first impression using their service was that their website seem very user friendly and easy to use when selecting my preference for the type of coverage I want. After selecting my preference, CoverHound also provide multiple options of insurance providers, instead of just providing one choice which I found very useful since I was able to compare the different cost associated with each and additional information I might need to do my own research.
As for customer support, they responded back pretty quickly to help me choose the right insurance company for me. The person who I talked to, Jesse I believe his name was, was very patient with me and clarified any doubts that I might have when purchasing my insurance.
Overall, quite a hassle-​free process and I am happy to have bought my insurance through CoverHound.

As a first time car owner and the first time getting an auto insurance, I had a more than positive experience dealing with the Coverhound agents when compared to the other companies.
I did my due research and called up many big insurance companies and received information from them that were insufficient and slow. Coverhound instead gives me all the information that I needed and remove the abstraction away from it, simplified my decision making process by leaps and bounds.
Recently, I had an issue with the insurance due to my driving license issues and its customer support team was friendly and made sure that I did not waste a second of my time. I admire their role as a middleman communicating between parties and making sure that the customers all have a pleasant experience buying insurance.
If needed, I will definitely get my insurance from Coverhound again!

The whole buying process was really fast and painless. I was only on the phone for about 15 to 20 minutes providing Jesse with my requirements and details. I got my proof of insurance within the next hour. Jesse was also attentive to my needs and he tried his best to get a policy that’s affordable for me. Awesome service!

I was overwhelmed with where to start looking for insurance for my new civic but got referred to them through an online quote thing at another site. I spoke with a super helpful representative who laid out my options and didn’t seem to push any specific plan at me. I ended up settling for the cheapest option (geico), and feel pretty confident I got a good deal.

Coverhound is an absolute joke, my advice to anyone is to stay away.
I tried to get car insurance through them for a car I just bought. Called them up in a rush and ended up with the bare state minimum coverage (was never asked if I wanted enhanced coverage). As I googled around a few days later, not only I could get much better coverage with Progressive, but for approx for 80 $ cheaper per the full 6 months.
So now I am loosing a lot of time chasing the insurance they signed me up originally with (to get my refund). Also, I have lost some money on the refund due to penalties.
Someone from their customer service called me up after my cancellation. The interesting bit is that they stated that they carry Progressive. Interestingly though, their quote was not convenient in their comparison (well, after adding their disruptive cut that is).
It is also a shame that they associate their pitiful services with a Greyhound dog, one of the best and most lovely dog breeds on the planet. Adding insult to injury.
