Cris Consignment

I think this the most unpleasant and full of attitude people working in a shop in San Francisco.
They have nice clothes but nobody smiles and again what’s up with the attitude?

I have been doing business with Cris as a consignor for thirty years, she is most professional and lovely, as is her staff, there is no better consignment shop to be found. I live in Reno, NV for many years now, and I can assure you of this.

We miss shopping here so we flew up from Long Beach. Great clothing that never disappoints. We wish you had a location in SoCal.

When my friends and I came in — they asked us to give them our purses. We didn’t think anything about it until we realized we were the only customers they targeted for this. All the other customers were allowed to keep their oversized purses. The staff clearly profiled us as potential thieves. And for three ladies who all have their PhDs, I feel like this was discrimination and rude. It’s fine if Cris Consignment has that as a business rule, but they should uphold it for all customers and treat everyone equal.

I came to Cris Consignment to obviously. consign and the process could not have been smoother. The buyer was extremely friendly and she worked extremely efficiently as she went through my items. Cris Consignment also is accepting of many designer clothes that are still fashion forward. It isn’t one of those snobby consignment stores even though the buyer does select quality clothing. Furthermore, my buyer even told me when to come back to sell specific items such as cocktail dresses. One more thing I liked about my selling experience was the fact that the buyer recommends other stores for you to go to if Cris is unable to take all of your items.
The store is also clean, spacious and well-​kept, which makes customers feel quite welcome and comfortable. As I was walking out, the buyer even asked if I needed help carrying bags to my car. It really comes down to the small gestures with Cris Consignment. I highly recommend both shoppers and consignors to visit the boutique. Parking is also convenient as well — it is extremely easy to find street parking.

This was my 2^nd time entering this store and i saw a Mulberry bag, decided to think about it and decided to call and see if the bag was still there since its been several weeks. I email and got a quick response from Nane. I actually got to meet her, super down to earth and the gorgeous elegant lady sitting behind the counter was very nice as well. Love this shop, saw some other bags but decided not to look, since I spent quite a bit already. Love this store and everyone was very nice.

I rarely write Unilocal reviews, and I know this happened a while ago. But I had to give the comment, hopefully will help others.
I was a seller to the store, the experience wasn’t too pleasant. I was pretty upset. Two of my items were a designer handbag and a designer coat, which both were retailed at $ 1300 to $ 1500, and both barely worn. For the handbag, after the manager (not sure if it’s still the same women) looked at it, she said it’s fake. But I know it’s not. She kept asking if I had the receipt, and I didn’t keep the receipt. She said, then it’s fake! That’s just so stupid! First of all, if you can’t even identify a real product or a knockoff without a receipt, I think you should’t even work in a designer consignment shop! Well at least should’t be the person checking in the items from sellers! Secondly, I know it’s real, because I bought it from a department store! Unless the department store sold fake bags! That’s so rude! Then about the coat, they found a coat on google from the same designer, but it’s retailed at a cheaper price. So they contacted me to lower the price. Because my coat had the same fabrication of the one they found online. Is that for real? Is that even a reason??? So I went back to the store and took my stuff back.
It was suppose to make my life easier when I decide to have a consignment shop to sell my stuff, not harder!!! Then I tried other shops, non of them was like Cris!!! This shop is horrible when they take stuff from sellers! I had very bad experience, which makes me even hate to shop there! And I always suggest my friends don’t shop there. Do they even treat customers nicer??? It’s difficult for me to imagine that!
Anyways, Cris is a really bad consignment shop for me, I’m not going there ever again.

I would like to respond to Cris’s message in response to my review of Cris. I wanted to be constructive for other sellers and state important things but after reading cris’s message in which 2 things weren’t true I was disappointed.
1) It is so clear to us that the business model of this place isn’t clear. More information needs to be communicated to customers. Ie) who knew a customer could get items back sooner than scheduled appointment.
2) I did get back to your store after you left a voicemail and I left voicemail and came in.
3) Yes we were grateful you gave the difference of the sale of the purse. It was very inconvenient being told purse was sold after one was told it hadn’t been sold.
4) I think it’s so important to have clear, consistent, convenient guidelines for your sellers. After reading other reviews I can see that others feel the same way about your store. It’s a pity

I know it’s been a while since this event has happened. I wanted to add that I did receive a message from the owner Cris, and learned for a business woman — she is horrible at math.
The owner told me I was making a «big deal» over only $ 25.00 difference.
” I felt that your review was extremely harsh considering that you only earned $ 25 less than what you expected…“
If she was able to do the math, she’d understand it was over 3 times more. The money isn’t the problem Cris. It could have been a $ 5.00 difference and the ACTUAL ISSUE would have been the same.
To simplify the math for Cris, I’ve done it for her below.
40% of $ 425 is $ 170
40% of $ 225 is $ 90.
Once more, I wouldn’t go into business with this store.

I thought this place was a gem (small, classy consignment shop with a curated selection), but beware! You cannot trust that this establishment truly checks their merchandise. I ran in one day and saw an oversized club Monaco grey sweater. I didn’t look super closely, because I trusted that this was a quality consignment option purchased by Cris. I paid ~$ 50 for the sweater. I go to wear it a few weeks later and notice the armpits feel weird. I take a look and one has been patched and the other has a whole. This was not visible on the hanger because of the slouchy nature of the sweater. I called Cris to explain my disappointment and ask for a refund suggesting that this item is certainly not the quality of consignment cris claims to carry. The store manager said she would ask the owner and call me back. I later revived a call that they would not honor a refund or exchange. Poor quality items, overpriced, and disappointing customer service. Save your money and go elsewhere. I’ll upload pics of the garnet shortly. You’d be better off at Salvation Army.

awesome little consignment shop — the staff is so nice and the selection is wunnnnderffull! cris, the owner, is super chic and helpful. i’ve only consigned here, but every time i come i browse the racks (esp the bags and shoes) and wish that i wasn’t trying to cut back my closet! literally you can find anything and everything — what a gem! and good quality!

Cris Consignment is a must-​see for anyone visiting San Francisco. It’s well known to locals, and I recently re-​discovered it on a layover. Plan to set aside a nice chunk of time for this place. This store consists of 2 rooms; one for casual ready-​to-​wear, and one for big name designers and couture. And the shoes! I have an awful time finding my size due to my small, narrow feet. But lo and behold, LOTS of size 5 designer shoes line YSL, Chanel, Jimmy Choo, and Blahnik. My tootsies were in heaven! A nice long rack of better jeans, tons of cashmere sweaters, purses, jewelry, sunglasses, etc. Gorgeous coats, suits, dresses, and evening wear as well. They have nice dressing rooms, and everything is grouped by color so it saves time browsing. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they wrap purchases in lovely paper trimmed with a flower! Please stop in this lovely store. You’ll be glad you did!

I almost want to keep the cat in the bag, but this place is astoundingly great. Very high end finds for reasonable prices — and the owner is stylish and sweet. Highly recommended.

With a VERY limited selection of men’s clothes here are some guidelines for guy’s thinking of CRIS:
1. NO double breasted
2. NO pleated slacks
3. NO wide or skinny lapels
4. ONLY selected ties e.g. HERMES or ZENGA
5. Jackets w/​stylish two button; NO three button

As a seller, the store’s policies were so inconvenient. Why can’t someone call me when my item sells and let me know a check is on the way? Why do I need to call on a specific day to request my check?
Too much work!

A wonderful, stylish hideaway amidst the hustle and bustle of Polk Street. Cris has flawless taste and the store is always full of only the most beautiful things. Her prices are fair, and the items are always in great condition. I’ve sold items here as well and her process is very organized. This is my favorite consignment store in SF by far, and one of my favorite stores in general. PS: When you purchase something, it is wrapped with a sprig of fresh flowers. Just another reminder that this place is elegant and one of a kind.

Cris is a class act!
It’s been a while but I use to bring my clothes and shoes here and I’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences here.

I completely agree with Erin H’s review from 5÷15÷2013 except I am not lucky enough to shop here more often. :(The shop is super bright, smells fresh and I love that things are sorted by color… with the ultra-​expensive clothes by the check out. Customer service is excellent. They are quite diligent keeping things organized. Very friendly and with a true joy for fashion.
I do not sell clothes so cannot comment about the negative reviews about selling stuff here but the product that is being sold is fantastic. As for this being a store for older 40 – 50 clientele, I disagree. It’s not career oriented but it is high fashion. I bought my first Vivienne Westwood top for a great price. I. am. in. heaven.

I agree with the other reviewer below that this store has shady business practices. If you plan to sell there, they will discount your item without telling you in excess of what is stated in the contract. So if you consign an item at the price of $ 100, they can sell it for $ 45 if they feel like it. That means you will get $ 22.50 for your $ 100 item.
BE SURE TO READ THE FINE PRINT.
I will not shop or consign at Cris ever again.

4.5 stars! This consignment store (too fancy to call it a thrift store!) is not cheap but I can often find amazing brands here and some clothes still with their tags on. The store is very clean and the rosemary smells throughout the store also make it feel very classy. That and you can likely find pairs of Louboutins, Miu Miu, etc. and jeans by Paige, Citizens, J Brand, and many more. I haven’t made too many purchases here but I always love to come in and looks. The jewelry case with all the pretty, fancy jewels is also one of my favorite spots in this store. When you make a purchase, they’ll often attach a pretty dried piece of rosemary to the bag. Again, fancy fancy! Note — one of my other favorite places to find amazing deals on fancy clothes is the website/​app Poshmark — highly recommended!
