Very disorganized and not enough employees. Chocolate chip cookies were delicious. The s’more was disappointing.

Very pretty place. A little gem. The two guys running the store are very nice and kind. They have so many little objects and items that I always find something when looking for a nice present.
And don’t forget to check out during the holiday season. They always carry beautiful decorations fo the Christmas tree and the house.

What a finely curated store! I cannot say what lovely thoughtful housewares they carry and intelligent books! Staff is super nice … brewed me two fine cups of Mariage Frères. I would highly recommend this place to treat yourself or for a nice gift.

My love for Dandelion is deep. I’ve been shopping there for years. Today: help finding a gift AND and OFFER to gift wrap with my choice of real cloth ribbon. The people have been there forever and are super sweet and knowledgable.

What a delightful discovery! This place has been here ~40 years and I just discovered it. Almost overwhelming, the variety and quality of this curated shop. Spent a long time browsing and choosing gifts on the first floor– and then I realised that there was a second floor of… more!
An important resource.

This place is the best gift store I have ever seen. The items seem to be carefully selected and yet there is a ton to choose from. I could spend hours perusing this establishment. The only sad thing is I don’t live closer to it. It’s my first stop next time I come back to town. Prices are very fair.

Lovely shop with high quality items and very attentive staff.
This is a two-​story shop filled with everything from Japanese pottery, to collectibles and small-​batch greeting cards. Everything they offer is high quality and varies in price from affordable to «desirable».
Their staff are not only helpful but also polite, welcoming, and proper. I think Queen Elizabeth II would approve.
Overall, a must stop.

Excellent gift shop and place of discovery. I go every season, just to see what they have displayed. a rotating museum of gift items from around the globe. I have purchased Danish Cheese slicers, to gift knifes, napkins, cards candles and more. I love this place and wish I could take it all home to my ashram room. but. alas. I cannot fit it all in this space.

Dandelion is one of the most carefully curated shops I have been to in 25 years in SF. They were very helpful when I called looking for a cookbook and attempted to order it for me, but it was out of print :(Their selection of housewares shows an original eye not just trend mongering. If you want pottery barn and sur la table by all means go there to acquire the castro-​clone décor you seek. Dandelion has a unique non-​corporate selection
And you can do ALL your holiday shopping here and never have to deal with the mall! They always have nice refreshments during the holidays :)

Over the years, some of my favorite gift shops have gone out of business. I have finally found a new favorite — Dandelion!
They have 2 floors of exquisite household and gift items at reasonable prices. The owners have an eclectic mix of asian, modern, traditional — and it all works together! Lots of beautiful trays and vases, and special items for the kitchen.
It’s the sort of store that has so many wonderful things on the shelves that you need to make 2 or 3 passes just to see everything. And it will take several trips to make all the «necessary» purchases.
And, the gentlemen who run the store are so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about their wares. I will be back!

My favorite store with Gumps to buy gifts and little things to embellish my home in San Francisco. Always a delight. You can spend hours there. Excellent customer service. Especially great around Xmas. A MUST go.

Dandelion is garnished by an exquisite, yet highly curated selection of beautiful and carefully selected objects/​books for the home. Housing a vital knowingness that is by far the best means of substituting tangible objects for love and/​or affection in San Francisco.
I’ve been here a handful of times, and it is nearly impossible to come in here only for a brief encounter as you will be slowly siphoned deeper inward after each corner at the plethora of finds. Nor is it even fathomable in my case that I will ever leave this boutique empty handed.
During my latest trip I left with:
–asphalt colored brooklyn slate square coasters (set of 4)
–medium sized hour glass with black sand
(an excellent replacement for the previous one I knocked over my side table and broke)
–martini alchemy party napkins
–streamline cylindrical bottle opener
–japanese long cylindrical ice cube trays
–japanese powder-​coated shears
–2-​sided cylindrical jigger ½ oz + 2oz
TIP: come here on a rainy day, or when depressed (but sober –you’ll understand why soon enough). walk slowly, and notice everything. lightly graze a finger across objects that fixate you, but don’t look back at things that don’t. and definitely don’t over infatuate yourself with just one item for too long of a time (there is far much more to absorb!). definitely take in as much as you can (don’t forget to breathe), but don’t try to do it all at once. multiple visits to Dandelion are highly encouraged as they do shift their gears around quite frequently.
This is much better than eating ones’ emotions. (well maybe)

Always fun to explore. A lot of variety and great stock of selection. The owners and buyers for this place keep it interesting and us coming back.

It’s a very rare occasion when you cannot find a gift for someone from Dandelion.

Dandelion is a wonderful store! You can find great gifts in any price range. They have a great selection of cards and candles and lotions and nice gift wrapping too. I pop in here if I need a last minute gift… The service is friendly (although, not THAT friendly! Don’t expect any brownosing) and I can just spend hours in there looking at all the goodies. This is a great, local shop if you need a little something for someone special

Dandelion… my momma had a baby and its head popped off! Did you ever play this game with dandelions when you were a kid? No??? It was just the twisted familes in my neighborhood? Oh.
Dandelion is packed to the rafters, in a well merchandised way, with everything wonderful under the sun.
Lots of eye candy and even real candy. It’s a bit overwhelming, but if you can’t find a gift here, or get inspired to go find that something super clever elsewhere for cheaper, you are a big fat loser. Maybe your momma did have a baby whose head popped off…
It’s unlikely that you’ll be able to leave without buying a gift for yourself. And the staff are nice to a one.

A metrosexual’s wet dream…
The boys at Dandelion have such impeccable taste that I am convinced it would be cheaper to move in there than try to purchase the appropriate bric-​à-​brac to go with my dilapidated IKEA furniture and Wal-​Mart markdowns. OK, most of my furniture is not all that cheapjack, but I’m betting the owners of this wondrous store have homes fit for Architectural Digest spreads.
It’s the only store I can think of where every item seems so specifically chosen for their compatibility with the rest of the elegant things meticulously presented there. Not one thing is ever out of place, and there is an amazing amount of merchandise on those two tightly-​packed floors. From delicate windchimes to Limoges figurines to Japanese mini-​teapots to Venetian glassware to Stonewall jams to an array of bath salts, the world of unyielding good taste is yours for a price… and not as pricey as you think either.
They have coffee table books that have nothing to do with coffee or tables… discuss. Lots of great greeting cards are to be found, many with a somewhat askew sense of humor most welcome. I particularly like the travel-​specific sections like the Paris knick-​knacks and the Japanese vases. They even have a vintage toy section and random travel souvenirs like a wood-​carved Grand Canyon plate for $ 29.
The pricier things are upstairs as well as a friendly Asian woman who swears she knows me. And the guys downstairs are as courteous and informed as you would want a salesperson to be. It’s really the ideal gift shop for the metrosexual in your life. even if you’re looking in the mirror. And such nice mirrors they have. I rarely leave empty-​handed.
