My girlfriend and I drop in when we want a lower key night without a big dinner(we live just up the block). Never been disappointed by the food — the appetizers, salads, and pizzas are all great. I know it’s a wine bar, but I kind of wish their beer menu was more imaginative, especially considering the wealth of great local craft breweries. Also — I’ve always felt that the lights are too bright for a wine bar. If they dim them down some and put a candle at each table, it could really make the place feel more cozy, intimate, and inviting.

Rico and Kelly took care of us as we wandered In looking for a place to have a cocktail. Kelly was quick to offer great suggestions of wine and also other neighborhood places to visit on our way back to the hotel. Rico knew exactly how to tickle my fancy with an AMAZiNG Bloody Mary and perfectly marinated onions mushrooms. These people really make you feel at home. I would recommend this spot to locals and visitors alike. Will definitely be back!

Take this review with a slight grain of salt, as I am part of the live music that performs there every 1st and 3rd Friday nights(Consensual Bop). I know … Shameless. ;) If you get a chance to eat the truffle Mac and Cheese made by Jason himself … DOIT! Simply decadent and delicious. The bianco pizza is also the bomb. Other items are also tasty, but I tend to go the safe route when I like something these days. Dell’Uva is the kind of place I would frequent regularly if I lived in the neighborhood. The atmosphere is welcoming and everything is reasonably priced. The staff have been kind and generous, and Jason is a helluva guy to work for. Now, come and see us on 1st and 3rd Fridays at 7pm. Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name … CHEERS!

We walked by this little gem and ended up staying a few hours. Great wine selection and small plates. The Mac and Cheese is sinful and the baked brie was to die for. There is a pool table there and you can play for free.

We were in the neighborhood and walked into Dell’Uva on a whim. Happy hour is til 8! Wine and beer specials are $ 5. Macaroni and cheese! Best mac and cheese I’ve had for a long time. Served in a cast iron, the top is crusty and delicious. I can’t wait to come back for more happy hour appetizers and wine.

Came here for the happy hour special and ended up staying all night! What a nice find near my home. It’s on a busy street so I always wiz by but I’m glad I stopped in after reading the reviews. The happy hour wine is not so great but the beer and their prices are! And I loved the mini flat bread pizzas! Good service too:) They didn’t have the live music I read about on the reviews but there is a pool table in the back. Now normally, you hear pool table and you think… But trust me this is a nice mellow spot:)

I’ve been to this place a few times before and actually met the owner while eating sushi down the street– turns out we both grew up in SF ad have friends in common. My first few experiences here were really great. But, the other night was terrible to the point where I don’t think I’ll ever come back here. I was there for a small gathering. It started when an order was miscommunicated by an acquaintance of mine and he started slamming bottles on to the bar and being rude. What really killed it for me was when my server tried to charge me for an entire bill I didn’t even order. I explained to her that it wasn’t mine. She claimed she input it wrong but it’s the same amount. It wasn’t because there were twice as many drinks and a bunch of food. I didn’t even order food. I explained to her I only ordered two drinks that weren’t even on the bill. Then she tried to pin it on my friends. I explained to her that I was there when my friends paid off their tab. Then she said to me that she wasn’t going to «eat the cost». Not my problem. Since when is it OK for a server to add things to your tab that you didn’t order? She was unwilling to resolve this. So I took it upon myself to tel the host of the gathering that this bill belonged to someone else in the group and got the server to charge me for only what I ordered and the rest would go to the group’s tab. I really wish this didn’t happen because I like the owner and I’ve always liked coming here but that incident just left a really bad taste in my mouth.

I would never have thought to check this place out had it not been for a particular live performance. Yes, they have live music! It’s a few blocks from 24th Street Bart steering the opposite direction of the mission. While making my trek over from Bart, I definitely noticed the change in environment as soon as I passed Cesar Chavez. What’s awesome about Dell’uva in the Mission? — Live music(if they have something scheduled) — Friendly, chill bartenders — HAPPYHOUR till 8PM — BOGO draft beers during happy hour — Bomb ass baked mac n’ cheese — Thin crust pizza that’s packed with amazeball flavors and stringy, melty cheese — A pool table in the back area — Next door to the Knockout!(another awesome bar! See review here: ) Dell’uva is saxxy!(Update: Same owner as the location in North Beach!)

Went here with my girlfriend on a Friday night around 6pm. The place was very empty and we were reluctant to try the place, but we had a Bloomspot deal and live only a block from the area. We were very impressed by both the food and service. The bartender was very courteous and informative, the food menu was quite impressive as well. The happy hour deal was awesome for drinks: buy one get one beer or 4 dollar wine. We had a baked brie and a pizza, both were excellent. By the time we were leaving for another event, a live band was there and I wish I could have stayed longer to hear them play. Since we are neighbors in the area(for a few more months), we will definately be back.
2012 Drunkcathlon: San Fran Edition. Review #6 Drink requirement: Order two glasses of wine: 1 red + 1 white The lady behind the bar was not amused with us at all. We ordered our required drinks as she glare poured. Granted, we are a group of people ordering two drinks, but we tipped well and were composed and respectful. No need for attitude. It’s a bummer, too. The place itself was cute and the atmosphere had potential for happy hour, but the most important piece to any successful happy hour spot is service, and unfortunately, Dell’uva didn’t quite nail it.

Came here with my boyfriend for a bottle of wine and a cheese plate before dinner. Atmosphere is cool, there’s a really cute dog hanging around and the staff is friendly. Prices are really good, cheap and yummy wine, and the cheese plate was inexpensive as well. We ordered a 3-cheese plate and they added a fourth cheese. The cheese tasted like it had been left out and was pretty dry, and the cheeses themselves didn’t really compliment each other or taste good by themselves. The bread was like tiny and really crispy bread crackers that crumbled easily… meh. The thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was when we ordered our cheese plate at the bar, we could see in the kitchen and the guy who made it kept picking at it with his hands and eating off the plate! It was pretty gross. We’re not the kind of people who would say something about it or send it back, but it was so unprofessional and kind of gross. Also, we saw that the pizza crusts came straight from a freezer or some kind of storage, pre-rolled and like a dry disk. MIGHT go back for a glass of wine because I live so close, but definitely would NOT get food here again.

Like a great person with a bad family Dell’uva has great food with a lot to be desired in service. Got there at 2:00 for the last day to use a coupon for brunch. I Got two bottomless mimosas for myself just to make sure I get enough in me before they stop this wonderful service at 3:00PM(completely unrelated to the fact that it was included in the coupon and my partner in crime was not drinking that day). Our waitress forgot our mimosas(or should I say my mimosas) and the bartender covered for our waitresses lack of service when she noticed that we were sitting there fro a while and asked if we wanted anything to drink. The food did take longer to get than two tables that put their orders after we did, which makes me think our waitress forgot to put our orders in. At some point we wanted some water, but because service was non-existent, I had to get up and ask for water. The answer I got was that the water is «right here at the end of the bar». I would have served the customer and then pointed out where they can get more water, but maybe my standards are too high. I overheard our waitress complaining to some girls in a table next to us that she has been getting small tips from folks that came in with the coupon. These girls had to later get up and give her the check and credit cards, because she didn’t pick it up herself… go figure why she doesn’t get good tips.

This place is GREAT! It’s got a great atmosphere/vibe. I was brought in, like so many others, with a groupon which was an amazing deal. We got two of the fritatta’s and the mac and cheese. Everything was delicious but you absolutely have to have the mac and cheese with truffle oil if you can! I can’t stop thinking about it! When they say unlimited mimosa’s they really mean it! What we thought would be an hour long brunch turned into a 3 – 4 hour drinking session. They leave the pitcher of mimosa’s on your table which is great. The mimosa’s were pretty good too(as a mimosa connoisseur I can say that ;)). Looking at the prices, it seems VERY reasonable for the quality and what you get. I only wish I lived closer so I could be a regular here. Next time I’m in the city on a weekend, I’ll definitely be back! The service was great too and the employees were very nice to chat with!

Probably closer to 3 stars, but we used a Groupon, making it a good deal. The Groupon we used was good for brunch for two including bottomless mimosas and three brunch dishes. I was looking forward to trying their pizzas, but as mentioned in previous reviews these have been removed from the brunch menu. Instead, we ordered the eggs benedict, an egg scramble with chorizo and the truffle mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was definitely the winner… gooey cheese and noodles with good truffle flavor. The eggs benedict was okay, but the scramble was overcooked. Also, their tables in the front are really tiny and they plate on large dishes. With our three dishes, glasses and pitcher it was a very tight fit. They serve the bottomless mimosas to you in a pitcher so there is no need to wave down the waitress every time you need a refill. We also talked briefly with the owner and he seemed pretty cool. Without the Groupon this place is probably too expensive, so I’m glad we got to try it out.

you step inside and the music sets the mood — it’s fun. perusing the wine list, the prices for the decanter allows for plenty of sharing — it’s smart. the menu has items that are on the cheesy side: cheese plate, grilled cheese sandwich, and a bunch of pizzas — it’s good. overall, Dell’uva is a cozy spot to sip a glass(or two or three) of wine, nosh on pizza or a cheese plate, and sit back, relax, and let the beats wash away another work day — it’s a winner. *and if you get a chance to talk to Juri, ask him about today’s state of rap and hip-hop — it’s hella cool.

A Groupon brought us here for Sunday brunch and bottomless mimosas. The place is makeshift as the server had to move tables and benches around for our party of six. We had a good time. Food is cheap and the macaroni and cheese is surprisingly delicious, especially the vegetarian-friendly truffle oil mac and cheese. The frittatas tasted like microwave meals but the benedicts are tasty. Best part of the experience was the DJ, the mimosas, and the fact our waitress told us we could do whatever the f*ck we wanted with our mimosas as they did not serve Bloody Marys.

SO I came to use my groupon. We walked in and it was a little smelly… kind of food mixed with not very pleasant smell… But it wasn’t that bad so we grabbed a seat. The bottomless mimosas were awesome as always! I like the fact that they actually leave the pitcher on the table for you so you can refill yourself up, and they only refill the pitcher. I find it very convenient not to hunt for a waitress every time I am out of mimosa… Speaking of waitress. Looks like there was only 1 girl working! On a Sunday Brunch? She was very nice but obviously the volume of people was too much for her to handle… Looks like there was also only 1 cook… I am dropping stars because we waited close to half hour for our food… Not because the service is not good but because they were understaffed. Overall, an ok place. Not one I will be back to but one that was nice to try.

«the worst breakfast in San Francisco» With so many bad occurences during one breakfast, I truly do not know where to begin. Excited to embark on what we thought was another SF food adventure, we decided to try this place out by using a groupon deal. $ 25 for two breakfasts plus bottomless mimosas, not bad ehhh, so we thought. Arriving at this swanky little resturant, one would think that the experience would be just as appealing as the ambiance… wrong again. As we sit down at tables fit for either midgets or children, the waitress immediately brings over a pitcher of mimosas. Coo… as we began drinking our liquid breakfast, we noticed it was taking quite some time for the waitress to take our order. Excited to finally eat, my friend and I ordered the«eggs benedict», her husband the mac n cheese(actually decent) and my boyfriend, the«north beach scramble». Lets start with the eggs beni. One word, d-isgusting. First of all, the bread(which is typically an english muffin) was harder than a polar bears penis. It tasted like they got it from the frozen section at the 99cent store. Then, the egg, supposed to be poached but came out looking more hard boiled. I mean the egg didnt even run, really! The hollandaise sauce was so thick it looked like gravy and was way too salty. Sick. In spite of this, my friend and I had to drench our rock hard bread in the sauce just to soften it up. Wow I think out of all of the breakfast, my boyfriends had to be the worst. The north beach scrabble was a complete joke. It was one microwaved egg served with prosciutto. The prosciutto was seared? I ask that as a question because who actually sears prosciutto?! Gross! Although Chelsea(the amazing waitress) kept the mimosas flowing(assuming she wanted to get us all drunk to hide the fact the breakfast was horrible), it was not enough to hide the fact there was actually no kitchen, the«chef» was some high punk kid that actually walked out and the owners were complete douchebags. For a mintute, I thought the owner wasn’t going to except the groupon and at that point things would have gotten violent. There was no way we were playing 100 $ for such mediocrity. After that horrible dining experience, I’m guessing dell’uva will be dell’over!

LOVE the new Dell’uva! Born in North Beach, this adorable wine bar and restaurant just opened a Mission/Bernal bar too. It’s dog-friendly, has an excellent and affordable beverage list and an AWESOME menu. The bar is beautiful as are the tables in the back. Staff is friendly and fun. If you need a laid back, fun place to meet up with friends, definitely head over to the new location. Especially on a weekend to grab the bottomless mimosa special or the baked brie… yum.
