Dezign With A Z

This shop may be good for people looking for casual home decorations but I would not recommend this place for businesses that need work done or businesses or people who need work done by a deadline, Dezign with a Z will not deliver timely or quality work from my experience.
My boyfriend wanted the logo on the side of his work truck redone. We walked into Dezign with a Z, spoke with the woman working the front office, she handled everything with taking down the logo and font. She was unsure what day the installer would be available and told us she would email us the next day to let us know what date and time would work for the install.
The next day she emailed us which day and time would work and we confirmed that day and time would work for us.
We head into the office on the day of the appointment to have the logo installed. We are then told that the appointment was not that day but the next. Boyfriend and I say ok to coming back the next day even though we are pretty darn sure the appointment is that day. We walk outside and check the email from Dezign with a Z and yup, the appointment was that day. We shrug it off because English was not the first language for the girl we worked with and we thought it was just a snafu.
We came in the next day and the install was quick and easy and the logo looked good. We just dismissed the appointment snafu as a miscommunication.
My boyfriend then decides to add his work number to his truck and hey, Dezign with a Z was pretty good besides the appointment time issue so we decide to go back. We work with another girl, we have everything set up, we schedule a date and time for install.
We pull up to the shop at our appointment time only to have the girl we worked with come out and tell us that the logo wasn’t ready yet. She then asked if we could come back in the afternoon or the next day. At this point boyfriend and I are irked because hey, shi* happens right, we would totally be understanding if something came up and they called us to reschedule. However, no one called to let us know that there was an issue with the decal; they had us come over to their shop knowing that they hadn’t completed the work yet when the courteous and professional thing to do would have just been to pick up the phone to give us a heads up.
We let her know that rescheduling for the afternoon or the next day would not work for us. She was very apologetic and said she would try to make sure the decal was done ASAP and asked if we would be able to come back in an hour or so which we grudgingly agreed to (and also because overeager boyfriend had already paid for the work upfront so we couldn’t just walk away).
We came back 45 minutes later to see the installer waiting outside as well. Eh, poor guy.
Unfortunately, this time, the logo was *not* great. We asked for the same size font that was used for the business name but this time the font size was MUCH larger and looked very out of place next to the business name. I am not sure if this was due to the job being rushed or again, confusion with the front office. The logo being the wrong size was an issue as my boyfriend’s company is union and there are very specific rules in regard to what/​how a union company can display their company name and number.
At that point though, we were just done with Dezign with a Z and didn’t want to deal with any more issues. We will not be heading back there again.

The team at Dezign with a Z has been incredible to work with — such smart, bright, creative people. I am creating a large-​scale photo and text exhibition and they have helped me figure out some very innovative solutions to some tough problems. I highly recommend this place and would give them 10 stars if i could. Hands down excellent customer service and great products. :)

This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. If there was a way to put 0 stars, I would.
I paid $ 454 for my company’s logo to be placed on a 5×4 foot piece of acrylic and shipped to me. I was told the item would be shipped to me within the week. It took almost a month to arrive. Paula and her team created the project for me. The piece that arrived was defective. The logo was not centered on the acrylic. I wanted to ship the piece back to them to have a new decal placed, but Florent, the manager, thought the acrylic was too fragile and would break. That’s nonsense! It did not break in the process of shipping to me. I even told them that I had the original shipping material, and they still did not want the piece shipped back to them.
Their resolution was to send me a new decal so that I could remove the decal they had placed and then apply the new one myself. If their «professionals» cannot properly place a decal on a 5 foot frame, why would they think that I could do it properly. I also expect that if I pay this amount for a properly executed project, that I wouldn’t have to «make» it myself.
I have since left several messages and emails over the course of several weeks, and no one has bothered to respond. Their website even claims «satisfaction guaranteed.» Reading the other reviews, it seems clear that they don’t take any responsibility for errors.
Again, the worst customer service ever.

Paula and her team are easy to work with, extremely helpful, and are able to hit urgent deadlines. I asked Dezign with a Z to start with one project and they ended up helping me with over 5 projects. They do anything from wall décor to any printed business need. I was extremely impressed with the execution, price, and service altogether. Thank you guys for all that you do!

Paula is truly amazing, she has always been available for me to help me out when I am in a bind and have an urgent deadline. The shop is massive, and filled with the best equipment money can buy. They also do white board installs, and large format printing. I do interior office design and would recommend her to anyone above all other sign shops in the city. Paula stands buy her work and won’t stop until you are satisfied. Love this company.

I cannot believe this! What kind of business takes your money and then never sends the product and denies that UPS has sent it back to them? Do you go into the market and just hand money over to the cashier and not get anything in return? Insane!
I want my money returned! You can see on the UPS site that they returned it to you! I do not want store credit.

Just got an estimate for 15 sticks (color)…$ 200…enough said.

Please use extreme caution when purchasing from Dezign with a Z. Their return policy is abysmal.
I ordered 10 custom wall frames for a corporate event at the cost of $ 285, including two-​day shipping; however, the design was not what I had requested online. To that end, I couldn’t use them.
Upon calling customer service, I was told that even though it was clearly DeZign’s fault that they had produced the wrong design, they wouldn’t refund my money, but they would send me another order. Even if DeZign did send another shipment, it would have arrived after the event I ordered them for. I told the customer service representative this and explained that I would rather they just refund my money. Again, I was told that a refund wasn’t their policy. Despite it being their fault, DeZign said they would issue me a store credit. As I have no intention of ordering from them again, I told the customer service rep I would prefer a monetary credit. It’s not happening.
Why should I have to pay for something I didn’t ask for and for a mistake they made? If this is their bootleg policy… Fine. Just make sure it is featured prominently that in the event that THEY make a mistake, we, the consumer, will only be eligible for store credit.
If DeZign had sent me what I had ordered and I decided I didn’t want it, I would totally understand why they wouldn’t refund my money. After all, it is a custom order. But DeZign got it wrong and weren’t able to get me what I wanted on time, therefore, I don’t think I’m being unreasonable asking for my money back.
I will be taking the matter further, but feel it necessary to warn anyone who goes to this site expecting decent customer service. If you want a company that prides itself on accountability and not on excuses, as well as the same old «this is our policy even if it’s our fault» patter, this is not the one. To add insult to injury, I was sent a customer feedback email asking about my purchase and quality of service, as well as offering a 15% discount on my next purchase. They should be renamed DeluZion with a Z!
A colleague needed custom decals for an event a week later and, after hearing what happened to me, found and had a wonderful experience with a company called Innovative Stencils. Apparently their return policy is better and clearer. A far cry from the experience I had.
I regret not reading the Unilocal reviews as I would have steered clear of this company. I would not recommend DeZign with a Z to anyone and, in the event I do ever need decals, I will never order from this company again.
Worst company ever!

I purchased two hundred and fifty six dollars worth of wall vinyl. The first order was defective vinyl would not stick to the wall fell off on the floor. Spoke with Paula and she reassured me that they would make things right and sent me an upgraded vinyl. The second batch of final was worse than the first. I follow all instructions and return the product. I have been calling over 18 times with no response. A dispute with payal and Visa has been filed. I asked to speak to a supervisor and there was always an excuse why he could not be reached. This is the biggest rip off I have ever been involved in. I would never recommend anybody do business with this company. The supervisor’s name is Florennt and he has yet to respond to me or payal.

The decal I got came with instructions and was super easy to put up! I like how their website has a video, in case you need a little more help. Overall it was a great experience. Will definitely get more decals here in the future!

I recently purchased items from Design with A Z. The moment I called and spoke to Paula I knew this was the best place to do business with. They are professional, efficient, reasonably priced and have excellent stellar customer service! My overall experience was superb! I highly recommend using Design with A Z’s services!

I love the quality of their products! It amazes me how they have the ability to make anything you could possibly want. I have multiple wall decals from them hanging around my apartment and they were a breeze to put up! (Just like their web video) They have the best Custer service and truly want their customers to be happy. I am buying all my wall decorations from here!

like another reviewer said this company is a joke. ria told me the turn around time for a sandwich sign and some window decals would be around 5 days it took about a month after several upset phone calls from my husband and my self. final product was not even worth the $$$ in fact I should have received a discount from paula the manger who was also not very helpful.
bottom line SAVE YOU MONEY and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE cause once they have your money they will ignore you, lie to you and give you false promises

I purchased a large whiteboard wall decal for my yoga studio from Dezign with a Z. I carefully applied the decal to my wall, but it did not adhere properly despite repeatedly going over it with the supplied tool. It soon just fell on the floor.
I phoned Dezign with a Z. They were extremely cooperative and quickly sent me another whiteboard with an adhesive that was supposedly stronger. Unfortunately, this whiteboard also did not adhere properly to my wall and was soon lying on the floor.
I phoned Dezign with a Z again and spoke to Paula. Paula asked me to send her a photo of the wall and to let her know what type of paint had been used. I sent her the requested information the next day.
That is when the trouble began. They ignored me. After two weeks they had not responded to my email, so I phoned. I spoke to Ria who said that she needed to speak to her supervisor Paula who was on the phone and that she would call me back in a few minutes. She did not call me back. I eventually had to leave the house, so I emailed her. She responded and said that she would phone me the next morning at 11:00am my time. She did not phone. I called her. At that point she said that the decals would not stick to my walls but that they would not refund my money. They offered me a store credit or a gift certificate.
I was stunned and outraged. A store credit is useless to me BECAUSE THEIR PRODUCT WILL NOT STICK TO MY WALLS. As for the gift certificate, I have few friends who would need or enjoy a wall decal for their birthday.
First, I appreciate that they sent me the second decal. That was, in fact, however, an error on their part. Had they asked me at that point to send a photo of my wall, they could have saved themselves the expense.
Second, I understand why they have a no refund policy. They make a custom product that cannot simply be restocked and sold to somebody else. If this situation were my fault, I would not expect a refund. In this case, however, the fault lies with their product. Their product does not adhere to my wall as promised. That is not my fault. It is their fault, and they should refund my money.
On their website it claims: «Our wall decals can be applied on any smooth or textured walls (but for instance avoid rough concrete surfaces or bumpy skip trowel walls)» My walls are standard plaster walls. There is some texture, but not more than average. It is not anywhere close to a rough concrete surface or a bumpy skip trowel wall. They are basic walls with no special texture. I wish that I could post a photo,
Do not buy a product from Dezign With a Z unless you are absolutely sure that the decal will adhere. What is supposedly theirr stronger adhesive did not work on my normal walls, and they will not refund my money.
