Sometimes, I wish I lived in the city instead of just visiting. However, this was my second visit to Dirty Habit, and I still felt like I was on a spa vacation for an hour. The cocktails are amazing. I have not had one that I did not like, and only wished for them to be a bit larger(when a drink is $ 13…). The food is… ok. I have had a few things here and never been blown away by anything. It’s closer to pub food than what I would expect from a higher end place. Would I come back again? In a heartbeat. Its a nice, cool, casually hip place to be.

[Review for their Happy Hour only] We came here when«The View» across the street was packed. Located in a hotel on the 5th floor, the place can be a lil’ bit of an oasis in the midst of bustling Market street. And by that oasis, I’m referring to the outdoor patio if you come during non-peak hours. The outdoor patio is bomb– nice lighting and open space. People have reservations for tables. Clientele is that FiDi, business-esque vibe. There’s also communal seating. The drink menu is extensive, and they have small bites(chicken wings, yiyiiiii). The rest of the place is dim, and there’s some rooms for special events. I have no opinion of the food entrees. I imagine people’s experiences here can be drastically different depending on the time of day and seating. Final take– Good place to meet someone for drinks.

Hot date spot! Went on a Satur-date with my boyfriend this past weekend. Dirty Habit is in the perfect location in the FiDi close to BART and other hot spots in the neighborhood like SFMOMA and Yerba Buena Gardens. Head to the 5th floor of Hotel Zelos and you’ll find a beautifully decorated restaurant and bar – candlelight mood lighting expected. Request a table in the patio on nice days/nights. They go fast! Bonus: there is an outdoor fire pit to keep you toasty. Cocktails are unique and tasty – the mark of a top notch dining establishment. I did not like the beef tartare, but the chicken wings were divine. Will be back soon.

Cool spot for cocktails… Not for food. Food was extremely overpriced. The ravioli was so overly salty it was awful. The fries were decent but the aioli was so spicy. It tasted like sriracha and miracle whip mixed together, awful. The tartar was on a crostini that was sooooo soggy it completely grossed me out. The steamed buns were the only thing we were satisfied with. Don’t eat here. Get a cocktail and relax on the patio. You’ll be much happier

Had a reservation for 13 girls for a bachelorette party and just because we were a bit late they went ahead and gave away the reservation. Also argued with us that they couldn’t sit us all even though the place wasn’t even busy. Will not ever visit this place again and give them any business. Rude.

Cool atmosphere — sat outside in open air. I had water, but my friends said the drinks were good. The food was ok. Ceviche was nothing special. Chicken wings were good. I had the burger which tasted good and hardy — although the bread was weak and fell apart. Wife had the cod and it was small. The dishes that the couple we shared the meal with had were pretty small too. Service was not what you would expect for this price point. For our party of four, two dinner plates came and then 7 minutes passed until the next two plates came. My glass of water sat empty most of the night. What bothered me at the end was we were told that if we wanted to split our check on two credit cards, they would force a 20% gratuity on us. I’ve never heard of such a policy anywhere before, but we all thought it was a bit silly. We couldn’t really understand why asking for a split check somehow justifies a forced gratuity. Splitting a check is a normal thing– we shouldn’t be penalized for it. We switched to one credit card and left the standard 15%, which was generous considering the level of service and how overpriced the meal was.

We had a company event here… big mistake. Not only is it pricy, service didn’t match what we paid. Though this is a cool place to come in with a few friends for an expensive drink, and the outdoor patio area is nice, it’s not the great for events unless you are rolling in dough and service isn’t important My disappointment was more towards the rudeness of the people working the event. I hate bad service.

I stopped in on Thursday last week. I sat at the bar with a friend when then opened. The bartender was friendly, knowledge and attentive. The food was just as good as I remembered if not better. It is not easy to keep a restaurant performing at this level for as long as they have. Really great atmosphere, drinks, and food. I recently see my rating because they exceeded my expectation and that is really hard. Well worth the money and time to try it.

Great atmosphere, interesting cocktails and good variety of plates. I liked everything we had except the Uni flan but that’s more personal preference vs food quality. We got to sit outside and that’s really the biggest draw for this spot in my opinion. It’s a little rooftop and you feel sort of away from everything which is pretty cool. The cocktails were good and they have a full bar so of course you can order what you like or choose from their specialty cocktails. We had the following for our group: Beet tart: delicious Steamed bun with lamb belly: pretty good but not my favorite thing Pork belly: we did the anchovy sauce on the side but I liked it Uni flan: did not like. Consistency and taste was not for my palate Risotto: surprisingly my favorite thing we had Challah with butter: also very good Chicken wings: good but nothing spectacular about them. Miso cod: delicious Spiced nuts: good bar snack Panna cotta: decent Rhubarb donuts: good but not something I’d necessarily get again. The prices were a little high and portions were not large but the quality of the food was good. I’d come back but there’s other places I’d like to try first.

Environment: This was a fun and spacious place that I didn’t know existed in the city. They had plenty of seating indoor and outdoor and their rooftop area made me forget I was in freezing san francisco. Food: I strongly recommend their bread and butter. Also: try to make sure the guy you are trying to set your friend up with is not a douchebag.

Sleek cocktail rooftop lounge — a welcome getaway. Great date spot with tasty drinks, small plates and people watching. Well-made craft cocktails, price premium given Union Square location. Tucked atop the Palomar Hotel, ample seating both on the rooftop itself and interior. Thick cut fries with harissa aioli are tasty, as were the chicken wings and little gem beet salad. Enjoyed excellent service and outdoor heat lamps ftw.

I’ve tried little bites from the Dirty Habit at the multiple food tasting events and always loved it, so finally I went here and had a very enjoyable dinner. Couple cocktails, tuna sashimi, lamb bao and the burger — me and girlfriend Michelle L. split for our meal was just enough for me to get my sugar levels to the point that I felt ready to go tango dancing. The food was splendid. But tuna sashimi, as much as I usually like it, this time, was not clicking with me, and mostly it’s a curry sauce was ruining it. Lamb Baos and the burger were excellent!

This place has improved a lot. While the hostesses remain annoyingly aloof, the servers are friendly and engaging. Great food and drink selection. Some items are crazy pricey, but there’s something for everyone. And the patio?! Ah, the patio remains to-die-for.

When I’m not on the go, which is rare, you can find me sipping on a whisky, smoking a cigar, or just telling lies with my friends. Dirty Habit is a nice find if you can actually find it. While walking around the hotel lobby, some of the hotel guests didn’t even know it existed. Find your way up to the fifth floor, but don’t stop at the first bar. Go to the patio, and snuggle up in one of the tables outside if you’re lucky enough to get one. Service was adequate, drinks were awesome.

The patio at Dirty Habit is phenomenal, so make sure you are seated outside. And don’t worry, there are heating lamps and small fires outside to keep you warm. Dirty Habit is most famous for their seasonal cocktail menu; with a list of regularly updated cocktails. Don’t see your favorite drink on the menu? The bartender will also make you anything your heart desires. My reccomendation: Duck Duck Booze, which contains Aylesbury Duck Vodka, Raspberry Lavender Honey, Moscatel, and a(interesting) splash of sherry vinegar. Overall, great venue and amazing cocktails!

Really like this place! Been here twice and was not disappointed with the food or drinks! Although it’s in a hotel, the bar/lounge/restaurant has a very fun vibe. This was our second visit which included four of us and we all agreed the food & drinks were great! We shared the small plates which was just right! Even ended up having two desserts and was very pleased!

Absolutely love this place. It’s sexy and swanky and perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re going on a date, going out with friends, entertaining guests, etc. The restaurant isn’t very large, so it’s best to make reservations. They also have seating on their gorgeous outdoor patio. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because even though they have heat lamps on the patio, my friend and I(and people around us) still felt very cold. The heat lamps are up high so you don’t feel very close to the heat. And some tables aren’t even near any heat lamps. So if it’s cold out, I wouldn’t recommend sitting outside. Our server wasn’t very friendly either… that was a bit of a downer. And they were out of the Pork Meatballs which we really wanted to try. But there’s always next time! Other than that, the drinks are amazing and the names are pretty funny. We ordered«Aloe Be Thy Name» and«You Go Glen Coco.» Very boozy but super delicious! Their dinner menu was very creative and had flavorful twists. My friend and I shared: — Thick Cut Fries w/Harissa Aioli — Fries were big and crunchy and the aioli was a little spicy. Great finger food for sharing. — Pork Croquettes — The croquettes were fried and perfectly savory! They came with some sort of apple sauce and creamy yogurt sauce for dipping. Great flavor combinations! — Risotto — Creamy and rich! Highly recommended. Can’t wait to come back and try more of their dishes!

This arresting SF hotspot makes me want to MAKELOOOVE… to the interior, to the décor, and to the food, the food, the food! Just how ssexy was our Dirty Habit experience? Play some of this classic Barry White music while reading the review for the proper level of bow-chica-wah-wow: 5 S T A R S * GETINMYMOUTHNOW : Prohibition Speakeasy Ale — Smooth, hoppy foreplay to wet the lips before the main spread. : Little Gems Salad — Romaine romance. Willing croutons. Tangy perfection. Beets. : Thick-Cut Fries — Carb caresses with girth. Just the tip in the ambrosial Harissa aioli? No, let’s go deep. More sauce please… : Wagyu Beef Tartare — Oo baby, I like it raaaw. Red, marbled meat sumptuously seasoned to tease and satiate my carnal cravings. Mooooooo. * CRISPY, OHDELISPY : Sisig Fried Rice — Indulge your secret porcine fantasies. Pliant cuts of pork belly with a toothy, epidermal crust… Fried rice, seasoned up to the hilt, Filipino-style, with calamansi for tart. : Lamb-Belly Bao — Succulent aphrodisiacs. Turn the lights down and savor them quietly in private, hand-to-mouth bliss. * SUPERIORINTERIORS&POSTERIORS A hefty, metal grate from a Klingon starship hangs above the front space and slices up the dimmed spotlights, enhancing the allure of both the late-night clientele and the appetizers. A turn down a hall leads you out to a wide terrace surrounded by the towering walls of adjacent structures. On one end, a cozy, fire-lit lounge for naughty conversations under the stars, and on the far end, sizeable, rustic dining tables of dark wood easily accommodating parties of a dozen or more. * DEVILISHDECOR A sheer wall stacked with gold-lit liquor bottles beckons you to enter. The walls and floors are reclaimed planks of caramel timber and dark plates of carbon steel. A rusted relief of giant steampunk gears is bolted to the wall behind tables of patrons. A bed of boiling fire throws random light and shadow on the faces of the satisfied folks lounging on the patio. * SEXXXXXYSERVICE Close to closing, a few items we ordered were no longer available. Dirty Habit’s naughty remedy? Lamb-Belly Bao on our table, and on the house! What scrumptious treasures, delicious enough to tease Aphrodite and guarantee our return visit. And I swear, we did NOT tell them we were Unilocal Elite :)

So I made a reservation for 2 at 5:30pm. Got there early and was seated at 5:20pm. I ordered a glass of rose while waiting for a friend. My friend arrived just before 5:30pm. We started chatting immediately and 20minutes later had to finally hunt down a busser to find our waitress to 1) put in my friend’s drink order and 2) ask about the glass of sparkling rose I’d ordered a total of 40 minutes earlier. We were not in a rush so we waited and drank water, which was quickly refilled 3 different times. When the drinks finally came, the waitress apologized and said she would«make it up to us». They brought us a dessert to share. We paid and left. Do not plan to return. I could not have been more patient, understanding or courteous. A bad service experience really does ruin what is probably a wonderful bar. Complaining is my right and so is my choice is to leave it be. And leave this Unilocal review. Thx for reading!

5th floor of Palomar hotel. I like this bar! I wish I got to see the patio, but there was a private party. I didn’t get to try any food. Just drank a glass of zin which was pretty good. It was a wine and whine night. I freely vented and didn’t worry about any eavesdroppers because the tables are spaced apart pretty generously for a small bar, and there’s moderate background noise. I live pretty close to this place, so I’m looking forward to coming back many more times!

We literally tried everything on the menu and everything that we had simply amazing. We of course had our favorites and here they come; chicken wings very crispy and full of exotic tastes. Steak tartare, never had a better one and burger never had a burger that it was as tasty as this. Nicely done Chef David! Our server was over the top nice and attentive. Her extensive knowledge of the menu and warm customer service is commendable(I wish I had her name/dined on 1⁄9)

I was back in town and my friend wanted to meet up for a night of drinks. She heard of Dirty Habit and had been meaning to check it out. We parked on the street about 2 blocks down and walked over around 8:30PM. It’s located on the 5th floor of the hotel. There’s an indoor sections and if you go to the back, there’s an outdoor patio. There isn’t a nice view, but the patio has heaters and a beautiful fire pit. We each ended up order two drinks throughout the night. They were either a hit or miss. I loved my first cocktail but the second one was okay. My friend ordered one on the menu and another off and she didn’t like any of them. They were either too bitter or too strong. The drinks are definitely on the stronger side here. Overall, this was a cute place to check out.

The cool and sexy vibe at Dirty Habit made it a perfect spot for me to catch up with a girlfriend who was home from LA. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive and even took us 30 minutes before our reservations. With that said, I felt that the food was extremely mediocre– especially considering the price. I loved that they were tapas style though, so we could order many different things to try. Here’s what we ordered: 1. Fried Lamb Belly Buns — I’ve definitely had better lamb and buns. I felt that the lamb was a little too gamey for my taste. 2. Mushroom Tart — The tart itself was delish, but it was nothing to rave home about. 3. Stake Tartare — This was actually not bad, but I felt that it could’ve been better served with something to eat it with. 4. Foie Gras — I can’t remember exactly how it was cooked since it was off their«secret menu», but this was by far my favorite– but then again, I’m a fan of foie gras in general. I think given the price, I would probably only come back for drinks. It would be a great date spot for sure. It’s too bad the food didn’t blow me away at all!

Located in the Palomar Hotel, Dirty Habit is THE place to bring your date if you’re trying to impress her. The bar area is already gorgeous, but the outdoor patio is the real panty dropper. Along some of the tables, there is a fancy fire pit. And those hanging lights definitely add to the romantic ambiance! Cocktails are all priced at $ 13, which is expected since it’s so close to Union Square. Falling For Eu(Partida Blanco Tequila, Clear Creek Pear Brandy, Eucalyptus, Lemon) was very easy to drink! This is one(dirty) habit I’ll be keeping! Cheers!

This is a special place with inspired tapas style viddles. There are offerings for real foodies including cheeks and tartare and octopus and such but also some so more standard fare with clever twists. Really good eating. Nice staff. great décor and good music. There is unfortunately a sense these folks believe their poop don’t stink. But it does. How can you mention that there are table minimums for dinner but only after everyone has already finished eating? That’s so inappropriate; completely and utterly. Poor taste. Poor form. Otherwise this too-cool-for-school venue is close to getting that 5th star.

Dirty Habit is a little hard to spot from the outside. My friend and I walked by it a couple times not realizing it was part of a hotel and you had to take an elevator to get there. So that was an adventure in itself. Before moving on, I can’t say much for the restaurant since I haven’t tried the food or had a full dinner service. So this review is based strictly on their bar service. This is a very classy bar. The drink menu here is pretty solid with seasonally crafted cocktails and prices are pretty moderate for a bar close to Union Square. But the real big deal about this Dirty Habit is their outdoor patio which is one of the best looking patios in the city with. If you come here on the weekends though, getting a spot out there is almost near impossible without a reservation. Eventually though, they start seating people in the restaurant once dinner service is over. More than likely I’ll return to Dirty Habit again to try the food because their menu sounds awesome especially their crispy sweetbreads, sisig fried rice, and the DH Burger. And I’ll probably return again to try more of their cocktails. It’s definitely another bar worth checking out if you’re in Union Square.

A hidden gem I would never know until my friend suggested us to go there. A restaurant inside a hotel sounds familiar, but a patio seating? We didn’t sit at the patio because it was too cold and surprisingly the reservation was full on a Tuesday night. We got seated by the community table(note: I’m not sure what it is called but apparently it is a huge table with high chairs where a large group can share, or a bunch of singles can get to know each other). We got Thick Cut Fries, Waygu Tartare and Chicken Wings and shared by 3 people. Everything was on point and very very flavorful — a little bit to heavy to my taste — however it still taste very nice and descent. These bites were really yum and worth the price and fits in the price range for FiDi folks. It got loud and busy after 7pm but everyone seem to have a great time. Modern and nice decorated atmosphere, the service was great. Would come back again and try different things next time.

I absolutely adore chicken wings, one might say it’s a Dirty Habit of mine. Couldn’t resist that one, much like I couldn’t resist leaving Dirty Habit a glowing 5 star review. Everything about this place was fantastic, the waitress was attentive and always on hand to top up our drinks, the décor and vibe in the room was comfortable yet chic and the food and drink we’re spot on. I had the Sweet Soy & Chilli Wings and a side of Thick Cut Fries, washed down with a exquisite 20 year old Highland Park Single Malt Dirty Habit isn’t the cheapest place on the block, yet it may well be one of the best and I envision it will become a regular for my San Francisco expeditions.

Alcohol is always the answer. * What was the question?! * It doesn’t matter. What matters is a cocktail menu that reads like your favorite book(currently, Game of Thrones, if you must know) but unlike the fantasy novel, a night at Dirty Habit doesn’t come with 3 dragons. However, your night is guaranteed an exciting vibe, with the luxe design and a sexy outdoor heated patio to boot. And we all know, an outdoor patio that comes with views of adjoining buildings all lit up in the night sky are automatically HOT. The cocktail menu is peppered with an extensive array of spirits and marvelous tipples as one would expect of a great hotel bar. Old fashioned? Manhattan? A sidecar? All textbook style execution. Nothing will be sub-par under the helm of bar manager, Brian Means. For the adventurous, try one of the more modern style cocktails, I loved the Twist My Arm(agnac) for its refreshing, fruity qualities. This bar-centric lounge has an amazing small plates menu. Don’t miss the foie gras with rhubarb and toasted brioche, yes it’s a whopping $ 30, but it’s a generous piece! Also, we kept joking that there must be a Filipino chef in the kitchen because SISIGFRIEDRICE! Pretty much, a very Dirty Habit. If you get too tipsy and end up with a hangover on a Tuesday morning … no worries. Drink up that coconut water and smile at your boss. Because no one looks back on their life and remembers the nights they got plenty of sleep.

At the moment my Dirty Habit is chicken wings, I can’t go a second without thinking of tender strips of poultry being torn from the bone with crisp outer coating getting the party started in my mouth. I’d heard about SF wings from many reliable sources and many drunk sources too. So I turned to my trusty Unilocal app, ‘wings’ near me! This brought back plenty of reasonable results but one search result stood out, ‘Dirty Habit’ — it was as if the wing gods were talking directly to me! It turns out they were because Dirty Habit’s sticky Jalepeno covered wings were out of this world. Now let me make it clear. Dirty Habit isn’t a rough and ready dive bar just serving wings, it’s a swanky establishment that exudes class, charisma and obviously most importantly wings. I was impressed with everything about Dirty Habit, we didn’t make a reservation but I’d suggest you do to avoid disappointment.
